They wanted $1600+ to replace my daughter's rear pads/rotors and 1OEM caliper on my daughters 2016 Prius. That OEM part is unnecessary on a nine-year-old car. A rebuilt one or loosening the caliper piston is sufficient. My BMW dealer charges $ 881 per axle for pads/rotors look. You could look it up. Consider other shops 12/7/25 read more

I woke up Friday morning to a dead car battery. After waiting 2.5 hours to get a jump, I drove to Morrison's because it was the closest auto repair near me. I'm so grateful for that! The staff was incredibly friendly and informative and immediately improved my bad mood. Also their services are very reasonably priced. As a young woman, it can be really intimidating to walk into a repair shop but the whole team at Morrisons made me feel heard and at ease. They fitted me in as a walk in, worked quickly, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. 10/10 will be going back for all of my car maintenance needs and recommending to my local friends. read more

I had 12 volt battery problem last year summer. Battery was replaced by another auto repair shop, they had a tough time finding oem battery so they supposedly bought a very good battery replacement but was not exactly the right fit. Same problem happened this summer. So, decided to give Morrison a try. Had problem with my 1st scheduled appointment. Called ahead a few days before then showed up on scheduled day. Morrison said I was not on the schedule. (sigh) Made another appointment since I was there. My appointment was for a week later (busy place) and was told the car had to be on their lot the night before, not afternoon of appointment. Not too flexible. FYI - not open on weekends, which is a bummer and a bit inconvenient. Dropped of my car the night before as recommended. They worked on my car as scheduled the following day, they were able to buy and install oem battery and told me my car is ready for pick up on the same day. Came to pick up my car and I had many questions about the battery problem. They answered what they can, wasn't 100% sure it was fixed but from their diagnostics they think they got it. I tested my car and the battery problem was fixed! I also asked about their free oil change for 1st time customer but it wasn't free but a discount. That didn't make any sense. I guess my car uses expensive synthetic oil. So I had my oil changed at a discount (not free). All in all, a good experience. Shop was nice and clean compared to other shops I've been to. How an auto shop should be ran, I called these guys, described the symptoms of my car (they patiently listened to me ramble about everything the cars been through in the last few weeks), after that I attempted to crank the engine so that he could hear the sound of the issue, the gentleman on the phone gave an amazing breakdown of what could be going on. Here's the incredible part, instead of taking my money and running a diagnostic on the car, he was up front and honest about not wanting to waste my time or money, he flat out told me it might just be a bad investment. Only good things to say about this place! We recently moved further from our go-to mechanic, and wanted a place closer to home for our car needs. We're thrilled to have found Morrison's! We needed our tire alignment checked and were able to make a next day appointment here. I dropped it off no problem, took a free treat from the front desk, and was given a reasonable quote for tire alignment. Later that day I received a call saying they had to also reset the sensor system, but they wanted to let me know about the additional cost to make sure I was comfortable with it before they did it. I appreciated the heads up. Dropping a car off here is easy with their big parking lot (a challenge in Boston!). Even more conveniently, they have lockboxes to help with late pickups if you can't be there by closing time. I was so happy to find this place and really value their candor about pricing, their flexibility for drop off and pickup, and their snacks/drinks while you wait! read more

The check engine light came on and I brought the car to Morrison's, down the street. They charged me $1300 to fix the back breaks, which by any measure seems excessive. When I picked the car up, I asked if the check engine light issue had been fixed, assuming that it had. Eduardo told me they just reset the light by turning it off, but didn't do any repairs, and he didn't remember the code # that was flashing. To top it off, literally the next day i heard a noise while driving and found the emergency break broken and dragging on the ground. To be fair, Mike promptly responded to the message i left, and wanted me to bring the car back in for additional service but at that point there was just no way. read more

Morrison's Auto Rite is the most professional mechanic I've ever been to, and maybe even the most professional business I have ever been to. I brought my car in for a second opinion after having a dealership recommend a very expensive replacement for a part. The folks at Morrison's were quick to get me an appointment, took just 2 hours to assess the vehicle, and contacted me right away. They explained the inner workings of my car and let me know that I did not need to replace this part, and gave the explanation as to why so I was confident in my decision. When I went back to pick up my car I was ready to pay for the labor but they didn't charge me anything, and almost didn't accept my tip. Even when I did provide a tip to Michael he said that he would use it to buy the guys coffee. As a woman, I'm always on the lookout for mechanics who are trying to use my naivety to make a quick buck. Morrison's was the opposite - they took the time to educate me and didn't charge anything even though I would have been happy to pay. My Honda Fit Ex 2015 automatic needs new front brake pads and rotors, so I called Morrison's for an estimate. They told me over the phone that they needed to take a look at the car. I made an appointment for 8am the next day for a free assessment -- wonderful! All was good up until that point. When I brought the car in, they were very vague about how long it would take to look at the car and gave me a 2-3 hour window. Not great, but not completely out of the realm of reasonable. Then, I got the quote. Mind you, my car is about 3 years off the dealer's lot, brand new. I regularly take my car in for maintenance and am a fairly responsible car owner. With that said, they quoted me $627.67 for front and rear brake care (photo uploaded) on a car with less than 30K miles. No thank you. read more

I've been coming here for YEARS. Always with a VW, and always left with a smile. From beginning to end, I feel satisfied with this business. They do honest and very good work. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. I wouldn't let "just anyone" in my Tiguan and these guys have long since earned my trust. While my car is at the shop, they keep me informed about work that needs that needs to be done and reminders about future maintenance and also prices. They aren't open on weekends, but it's nice they get weekends off too. They definitely work with you on appointments, and I can usually get squeezed in last-minute. And a bonus - free bottles of water and fresh baked cookies while you wait. :-) I almost forgot to mention the free oil changes (or $40 towards synthetic - which is a big deal!) they give to their loyal customers! I brought my 4WD pickup to Morrison's based on Yelp reviews and proximity. I logged in today to say that my experience DEFINITELY reflects those positive reviews. FIVE STAHZ BABY! I dealt with Rob. Consider yourself lucky if he's the guy you deal with, although I spoke with 2 other employees and they were both very professional, courteous, and efficient. Long story short, they diagnosed my problem and recommended a transmission shop. Rob spent another 20 minutes talking to me about the mechanics of this problem, and some other worn 4WD parts that are contributing/will soon need repair. Longer story: Rob listened carefully to my description of the symptoms and my ideas of what the problem may be. He test drove it and recreated the scenario I described and had his mechanic thoroughly examine the linkage to the transfer case and the case itself. They determined that, yes the linkage is worn (my theory is correct), but the rod that the linkage attaches to, which is part of the case, is the real problem. Previously, one actual transmission shop told me "it's a black box" we won't know until we get the transfer case down and take it apart, which will cost you $350" (for lowering the case and diagnosing the problem). Another transmission shop just said "the case needs to be rebuilt" with no detail. Neither one really examined the linkage. Morrison's did and spent the time to explain what they found to me, and they aren't even trying to get the business since a specialty shop would do a better job. Five stars. I'll be back. My partner and I have gone to Morrison's for decades. We have always been very pleased with their thoroughness and professionalism. If cost is a concern they will help you decide what work needs to be done first and what can be postponed until you can afford it. Regular customers get free oil changes every 3000 miles and they will top off your washer fluid, check your tires, and perform other checks at no charge every time you visit. For any standard repairs, they will almost always get your car repaired and returned to you on the same day. I am having a hard time understanding the review from the person who wants to buy their own parts and bring them into a shop for repair. How many people want to buy their own auto parts? A shop must stand by the parts they install. If a part fails prematurely, even if not under warranty, Morrison's has a long-standing relationship with their parts suppliers and will be able to go to bat for you. They won't be able to help you if you supplied your own parts. This certainly seems like a niche concept and I hope people reading the reviews will ignore this criticism unless they are one of the .001% that want to supply their own parts. If you are looking for the absolute cheapest place to get your car repaired, then go elsewhere. If you are looking for an honest shop that does work professionally and promptly, then Morrison's is a great place to have your car serviced. read more

I used to bring my Honda over to Morrison's. I thought it was a good & honest & CLEAN garage who I felt I could trust at the time. I do remember that they replaced my radiator. THen, 13 months later, the new radiator went and it was not covered under their warranty. This was weird especially for a radiator to go so soon. I was pissed at the time. So far, so good. They're walking distance from my house, super polite and respectful. Unlike many other mechanics in JP, they will make time for you (as opposed to "we can get you in next Friday" when you need your car TODAY). They explained the repairs and suggested another fix, and charged a reasonable price. I'm waiting to be sure that the repair that was made is what was necessary. I have been experiencing an intermittent problem. In my many years of car maintenance experience, if a problem pops up again, that's when mechanics start fixing many things hoping to hit the right one. Brought my car in with a flat tire and asked for an honest opinion- Mike walked me around the car and showed me how to measure the tread depths, then showed me how to identify the damage to the sidewall of the tire, then helped me work out the most cost effective repairs options, then filled up my spare tire with air before I left to consider my options. Everyone here is so wonderful and kind! Each time I've come in everyone has been very friendly. They discuss what services are more urgent than others and there is a very clear emphasis on safety. I have never felt like unnecessary services have been suggested. The information provided in the diagnostic was useful, and they also provided context for considering the purchase. (I did, in fact, purchase the car.)
