On my way back in front of the store they laughed. When I called to speak to a manager no one answered the whole day. Talk about horrible first impression. You walk by the store and you would think its a drug dealer hang out the way everyone is standing outside and acting. The behavior is unbecoming of such a beautiful neighborhood and completely unprofessional for people working a salesman job. Not only would I never buy from sleepys but would warn women from walking by the store in fear of harassment.

This review was written in stages…read more Part 1 of the process was top-rate - the purchase. Salesman CARLOS was super flexible and accommodating. He was nice enough in store and made it clear that he would honor the sale price I was considering on the day, if I decided to make the purchase later, after the sale ended. I did, and he did. But when there was a mix-up, and the bed I wanted wasn't available after he had rung up the order (it was the last one left in the whole city!), he more than made up for it. He called me back quite late in the evening (working late to make sure his customers are satisfied) to explain the situation, and offered me a much better bed for the same amount (which, remember, was the SALE price of the much cheaper bed). So I stuck with him and gratefully accepted his offer. Thanks Carlos! Part 2 - Delivery This went smoothly as far I could tell. I had to arrange my housemate to receive it while I wasn't there. The driver called me to confirm he was on his way (well within the reasonable 3 hour window arranged for delivery), and my housemate received the bed with no problems. Part 3 - the actual bed! I have no complaints. The bed is super-comfortable and I am sleeping blissfully a month in. We had some trouble putting together the frame, but that was probably more to do with our lack of technical skills. It's stable enough now.

I called to make sure I could return or exchange them and provided the sale date and invoice number. I was informed of a restocking fee if no longer in paper (they weren't) and that covers must be in good condition and never used (check & check). Fast forward to today and my attempt to exchange. Initially I was told I can't exchange them because the covers were "damaged." Then told I could exchange for half store credit (to cover costs of refinishing). When I gave the sizing I needed, I was told I would need custom covers for more than double the price (but still get that very generous half credit because, you know, they wanted to do me a favor). When I declined an exchange, it then became 25% store credit of the price because the covers "can't be resold." But they felt bad for me so would do me a favor of still allowing a return. What in the used car salesman is going on at this place? After multiple attempts to escalate to management, I had the displeasure of speaking with owner Mike Rubino, who was as sarcastic as he was unhelpful. While informing me that the radiator covers could now "only be scrap metal," he said the store employee was covering a 25% refund out of his own pockets. Look if you want to steal people's money, just say that. A restocking fee and even refinishing fee is understandable. Keeping people's money just because you feel you can is, well, clearly not.
