That said, the process was miserable and we wouldn't recommend working with them. Initially the communication was great. My wife works in sales and was really impressed with their follow-up. They required payment up-front, and after they had the money it suddenly became really difficult to get hold of anyone. We would ask for an update and at best get a reply that they would get back to us (which only happened once or twice), and often not hear from them at all. It look months to get all the lights we ordered. We ended up returning a handful of them because with all of the communication being over text we hadn't realized they were so cheap looking (plastic and fabric) until we unboxed one at our house. It took well over another month to get our money back, amid more poor communication. We ended up calling our credit card provider to file a claim, and a refund came through the same day. Honestly the communication was bad enough for us to wonder if the storefront and show room was all for show and this place was just a scam. It's not. But I don't blame anyone with a similar experience for wondering.

My first visit to Aurora Lighting & Design (ALD) was about a year ago when I happened to be in the area. Their showroom had a beautiful display of diverse lighting, with more of a *hip* feel compared to other lighting showrooms I've visited. Candice was prompt and friendly in her approach, and I was quite pleased with the overall experience. I placed an order in May '24 for roughly $5000 worth of lighting. Candice was originally informed that our installation date would be the first of September, but unbeknownst to Candice, that date got pushed by several months. She never inquired, of course (because she didn't have our lighting and welcomed the delay), but I reached out to her with some requests over the next several months; wanting to see the metal finish on a custom light that I ordered, needing to pick up two sets of sconces so we could determine their height in our cabinets, etc. Candice was serially avoidant of my requests, often times not responding altogether. When pressed, she would find ways to placate me and briefly satisfy my need for answers. However, when her promises started not panning out, but excuses were instead piling up, I decided to do a little digging. I read several reviews, and also called Hubardton Forge (a custom lighting manufacturer located in VT) to see if an order was placed by ALD (or Arizona Lighting, as she was previously known). No order was found - under any relevant contact information. I also inquired with another local lighting company about the availability of some pendants that I had ordered, revealing that Candice didn't place that particular order back in May either. Luckily, I was able to file a dispute with my cc company to receive my money back, but it wasn't without Candice blatantly lying to the cc company, saying she had shipped our items (with zero proof), in order to try and buy herself more time. I've attached the notification letter we received from Chase. I'd like to point out the date of the transaction vs. the date of the credit. ALD had our money for 9 months - but definitely did NOT use it to purchase OUR lighting! I have several texts and emails revealing Candice's evasive, avoidant, and dishonest business conduct. She had several key opportunities to fall on the sword and admit that our lighting was not in her warehouse, but she opted to keep up the ruse. Disappointing to say the least! I hope this review can save someone the trouble of having to get their money back AND reorder lighting in the 11th hour!

I fully expected to be told we needed a new furnace (something the other company had told us many times.) Not only did they honor the low price coupon, they checked everything, and said that though our unit was old, it was in good working condition, and they hoped to keep it that way for awhile, because some of the newer furnaces made then tended to fail. That was about six years ago, and we're still going strong with our original heating setup. We travel a lot, and wanted to get on a regular maintenance program, where Any Hour comes twice per year, and keeps everything clean and working, We can call "any hour" with any trouble or questions. It has worked well. Last month, we decided our contractor may never get around to repairing the tub that he failed to seal or finding where all the leaks were coming from, causing a roof to rain on us downstairs in the garage. We also needed to replace a brand new water heater he'd installed in our new apartment above the new garage. It constantly smelled like sulfur, and the only way to stop it was to run all 50 gallons of water out of it whenever we used it. In Mapleton, that's very expensive. We decided to get a tankless water heater, because we wouldn't have to deal with water just sitting in the tank, growing bacteria and smelling to high heaven whenever we turned on the hot water upstairs in the apartment. Any Hour fixed all the issues, including black mold on the lower floor and cracks that let black widows into the basement. They found and tackled all the problems. No more leaks or spiders! No more smelly water, and no more $300/year to keep water hot when we may not even use it for months. Andrew had discussed all the options, so we decided on a gas tankless, which would require digging a long, deep trench all the way around the house to avoid tearing up concrete. (Our neighbor's was much closer, but that wasn't going to work, either. Ha!) The project began on July 10th, and the city guy finally got here July 31st, but it didn't pass. There was a gas leak and we had to call the gas company, and then the fire department. Ugg. It was due to a faulty part, which Any Hour quickly replaced. Everything is great now, and we just need to keep leveling the trench, adjust the sprinklers, then plant grass and get the lawn to hopefully grow again. We had to repair the drywall, sprinklers and pipe, but we knew that going in, and were okay with it, because if Any Hour had hired someone, it would have been much more expensive. It was something we can do ourselves for less money, so we're glad Any Hour know that, and didn't just assume we'd go for a less hassle but more expensive option. Any Hour is now advertising a lot. I'm hoping it won't change their good prices. Communication is key. Ask, and they'll tell you! Any Hour Services also worked with us on financing this very large and detailed project, which has been very helpful. When everything hits at once, it's great to work with a business that has our backs. Eric and I highly recommend Any Hour, and we weren't paid or offered any discounts to write reviews. We want others to know we've had a great experience.

So I decided to call them to do a preseason tune-up on our A/C. Justin K was the tech who came out. I was very impressed with his knowledge and he took the time to explain a couple of things to me as well. I took the annual service plan which is really nice. The previous HVAC company we used for five years didn't have a reasonable preseason tune-up price or annual service plan. Justin came within the time frame Black Diamond had given me and they kept me up-to-date on the day of service via both phone call and text message. Justin also put the covers on his shoes when he came in the house and I appreciate that as well. My son has used Black Diamond since 2016 when he bought his house in SLC and he has been really happy with their service, too. So I did check Yelp before calling them, but I had first-hand knowledge that they do a great job with fair prices. I'd also like to compliment the people who answer Black Diamond's phones 24/7. They've always been very helpful and friendly. I appreciate that, too! Thank you!

From the moment I contacted them, their professionalism and attention to detail were evident. I received four quotes and shared my situation in the same way with all of them. Mr. Electric was the first one to respond, and I liked their quote so much that I almost canceled the appointments with the other companies. Sure enough, Mr. Electric offered the best quote out of the four. I received a grant for $5,000 to fix the power in my 110-year-old home. I always felt my house was not wired safely, and after my dishwasher started smoking and the fires in California, my anxiety doubled. Mr. Electric's quote was originally a little over $9,000, while the other three were between $11,000 to $13,000 and did not offer any assistance. The quotes happened after Christmas, and I felt this was my Christmas miracle because I thought it wouldn't be possible with the amount of money I had available. Here is what they wrote on the quote I received from them, which really touched my heart: "The price reduction is Mr. Electric's effort to support the community, especially during the holiday season. We offer reduced prices to demonstrate our commitment to helping those in need and strengthening our reputation as an honest service company. Community support initiatives can make a significant difference in people's lives, and it's our duty to ensure the safety of our customers and their homes." Just this statement alone is enough to show how incredible they are. The technicians, Kacey, Austin, Zac, and Chris (the owner), arrived promptly and were incredibly knowledgeable and courteous. They took the time to explain the work that needed to be done and provided a clear and fair estimate. Throughout the entire process, they displayed a high level of expertise and skill, ensuring that everything was completed to the highest standards. What truly stood out was the quality of the work. The technicians were meticulous in their approach, ensuring that every detail was perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the results and even provided helpful tips for maintaining the electrical systems in my home. Mr. Electric's commitment to customer satisfaction is truly commendable. They delivered on their promises and exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend Mr. Electric for anyone in need of reliable and professional electrical services. Their exceptional work and dedication to their customers are truly unmatched.
