Terrible service. Every spring I get ants. I call for "them to come back free of charge", their selling point? How's about get it right the first time? I see from reviews here you've been busy managing apartments instead of your long term residential customers like me. Who has ants. So I call, you say nope we won't be able to come for weeks to retreat for ants. So I'm doing my own ant treatments to supplement them, three years running. It saddens me to have to write this post as this GREAT 5+ home partner has gone from great to VERY, VERY POOR in the last 3 months. Simply put, We had a technician that serviced our home for years, after that tech left the company, we started receiving highly inconsistent visits whereas the technician gave less than average communications on what they were doing, And we found on a few occasions that bait traps were being missed. On the last visit, we communicated that we were going to reschedule, the technician showed up unannounced and I found him snooping in our 1st floor windows. ((I was alerted and we followed him on my Ring cameras: I was sleeping due to working all night on a work project)) --We also had NOT gotten a previous communication that a tech was going to be there and when confronted he said he was looking for a bait station, so I asked if it was standard practice to cup your hands over your eyes to look into the windows of homes you are servicing.... This was a considerable security issue for us, also, why are u peering in our windows? A door bell is sufficient enough and respectful. We're there not notes to where they are located? This was utterly not professional and a breach in our security and privacy. Was this service tech grooming for a future burglary break in? --Surely felt like this! Better communications, notifications in advance and don't act like a creep when visiting a property. This relationship is no longer a good fit for us. Update 8/17/21 To add insult to injury, Justin came out to the home and offered to look into the rodent issue we were having. He was super on the phone and followed up with a $3000 estimate to fill some gaps on exterior trim. I personally filled the gaps and figured I would just know that JP Pest is only good for putting out bait stations but they actually do not make sure pests are not doing damage. In fact, I cleaned out my shed a few weeks ago and noticed evidence of mice (see attached images of pool cover that had been chewed). We took everything out and to throw away a lot of items that were destroyed from the mice- $$$ damage. Not impressed. Updated 9/20/21 Continuing the saga... Today I spoke with Emily. She claimed I owed for a treatment back in May of 2020. I explained that I requested that the treatment be rescheduled because I wanted to be present. The tech did it anyway! Drive west on Route 101 in Temple behind a line of traffic at 5:15pm on 8/21/20. One car up in front of course was driving 40 mph in a 55 mph zone. Get to the passing lane and "RATSRUS" pulls into the passing lane and refuses to pass anyone and hangs on the back quarter panel of the car in front of him. The right before the 2 lanes becomes one again he guns it from 45 mph up to at least 60 leaving me and 8 other cars behind the slow one. Then as he went west bound on temple Mtn he took off. I have been a customer of jp Pests for a few years, so I used them when I discovered bed bugs. It was the biggest mistake! It took 2 weeks just to get the contract signed. 3 weeks into the initial call, they came to do a very vague visual inspection. Then had to wait for the treatment. They came and sprayed the chemical, but could not process my daughter's room (the main source of the problem) according to the contract. 7 weeks later and many frustrating phone calls, the problem got so bad, we had to hire another company! They brought in dogs for a much better inspection then treated the rooms with heat. 24 hrs later, we are bug free! Do NOT let jp tell you that the heat treatment is ineffective, their treatment is very ineffective! read more

They lie, they steal and they cheat you out of your money. Our building has had a roach problem since before my family moved in on the 3rd floor. We have since moved to the 1st floor. My building was sold and they told the new owners that the problem started in our unit. This may be true, but it most likely started from the previous tenants. They come to treat and then blame us because we have to much stuff. We had no open food items and prepared according to the vague and sometimes contradictory preparation instructions and even went so far as to hire a cleaning service, but it's somehow our fault that they aren't effective. read more

I've been using JP Pest Services for years for a rental property I own in New Hampshire. I have definitely noticed a drastic decrease in rodent activity in my house. Before JP Pest, mouse droppings were frequently found in cupboards, under couch cushions, etc. But with JP's interior and exterior inspections and trap settings every quarter, the issues I once had are well under control. The customer service is great when scheduling appointments. They are very flexible to schedule inspections around my schedule. Very polite, professional service. I've had JP Pest Services Quarterly program for a number of years. Had no problems until today. Enough of a problem to end my contract with them. Today was a scheduled service that was supposed to include an indoor inspection. The Inspector arrived in the morning and asked if I had any issues. I said "no". He said he was going to spray the outside of the house and he turned to walk back to his truck. I said to him "I thought today was supposed an indoor treatment?" He said "No, unless you have issues." I was a bit confused, especially since they sent an email saying someone had to be there since it was an indoor treatment day. I went inside, went upstairs and took a shower. I am a very quick shower person, 5 minutes max. When I get out and walk into my bedroom, I notice the Tech sitting in his truck. Not sure what he was doing, but it looked like he was playing on his phone. I go about getting ready for work and notice that he stays in his truck, still attention at something down on his lap. He stays there for about 10 minutes and then leaves. Total time on site is about 15 minutes, at least 10 of it was spent sitting in his truck, could have been more..... I go outside to leave and look around. One trap that I knocked over yesterday was still knocked over. I never put it back up because they were coming today to service them. I looked at the eaves because whenever they had come before, they would still be wet from the spray. Totally dry. There is now way the Tech had time to do anything they say they do. At first I was just going to cancel my service. But then I thought I should just call the office and report what happened. I called and explained to the manager that I just wanted to report what I witnessed and to make sure that Tech not to return. He assured me that would happen. He called me back to report "He spoke to the Tech and that even though their system sends you an email telling you it's an indoor service, we only come inside during the warm months if you have issues. And he said he could only find one of the two traps, he couldn't find the other." This infuriated me. I am around my house a LOT. There are a number of traps there, not just 2. And there was no way that Tech had enough time to just take out the sprayer and put it on his back, never mind going around the house and actually spraying and additionally rebating the traps they have there. BUYER BEWARE: Bait and switch on pricing. After several days of emails with the office, we negotiated a price for tick treatment service. In spite of requesting a service manager review the property and speak to us about the service, this never happened. Instead, we got a contract from an office employee. We finally got an agreed upon price via email, had the treatment, and then received an invoice that was $240 MORE than the negotiated price without any warning or discussion whatsoever. There's only one person in the office that we trust and, unfortunately, we didn't involve him in the transaction. To be clear: this in no way reflects on the technician who did the treatment. JP Pest Services charges outrageous amounts of money for their services. Once i realized what a scam their contract service plans ($225) to place mice traps in my cellar, i switch the contract to termite prevention thinking i could lower the price. Recently the company contacted me, indicating i needed a service-no choice, told me when the technician was coming. When the day came, the technician arrived, simply scanned each termite station to verify they were still in place (like a visual could have done the same), and then left. Maybe 5 minutes total- They charged me $159 for 5 minutes worth of time, for a task that was completely unnecessary, and only designed to charge the customer money. Had i known, i would have told them all the stations are still there-over the phone. They are all about scamming customers with BS service calls to jack up their costs. Called and asked to have someone come out to look at some pest problems that had just started. I was told someone would be out on a specific day and time to do an initial look, and that I had to pay the $150 fee in advance for the appointment; this was explained as a way of avoiding the onsite techs needing to deal with credit card payments in remote areas that have no cell coverage, so I agreed. The first problem was that the person showed up 45 minutes late. I had a work call fifteen minutes later, which wouldn't have been as much of a problem had he shown up closer to the original time. I welcomed him in and we started talking. He quickly mentioned that the person at the office said we wanted to talk about setting up a maintenance agreement, and didn't seem specifically interested in doing any inspection or work as I described the problems. I've owned houses for twenty years and have hired lots of people to do lots of work, this behavior was odd. He was clearly pushing to do a maintenance contract, whereas I was focused on an immediate need. He reluctantly said that they could do a one-off project, and that the payment for that day would count towards the work. He also said that he couldn't tell me what the cost would be for any of the work, he would have to talk with the people at the office to confirm the costs. And he couldn't say when the work would be done either. He finally explained that the costs would be based upon the size of the house, so he offered to measure the square footage of the house and find out from "the office" what the costs would be for both a maintenance program and a one-off appointment. At this point he went outside to measure the house, I had to go deal with my call for work, so my wife (who hadn't been a party to the initial conversation) followed up with him when he returned; despite his hard sales pitch, she said she'd talk with me after work and we'd get back to them. For our ~1,600 sq ft house their annual maintenance play was going to be $610, minus the $150 already paid. A one-off service was going to be $450, minus the $150. In short, we paid $150 for a sales appointment. Given that they have a standard approach on how to handle their service they should have explained this over the phone and saved needing to send out a sales person. I've worked door-to-door sales, sales-by-appointment, and have worked in the consulting industry for almost twenty years, it is a despicable practice to charge for a sales appointment. Ultimately I cannot speak to the quality of their actual work, because they didn't do any actual work for the money we paid them. What I can speak to is that their foot-in-the-door task is a scam because you're paying $150 for someone to do a sales call. read more

They went to the wrong house when coming to spray our yard, sent the picture of the wrong house. After talking with someone about what happened the bill keeps coming. They came back and sprayed our yard and sent a picture of our house. Clearly 2 different houses. They sprayed and the mosquitoes and ticks are like they didn't even spray. We have used mosquito squad for years without this many bugs. We cannot get ahold of anyone by phone or email. We've been using Jp Pest services for about a year. Their idea of dealing with a rodent problem is to put a few pieces of steel wool on the outside of your house put Traps all over the inside and outside of your house and just let everything die. The smell inside the house has been horrifying on multiple occasions when a die off happens. They always keep coming back. The road in Simon. JP keeps coming and rebaiting and does very little else. I only hired them because they came as a recommendation from a contractor that I no longer work with. I've since talk to them about the fact that I am now bound to them for a two-year contract and yet they are providing Poor service. We even paid more money for the fall invader package which is supposed to deal with stink bugs. Guess what I found a whole ton of already? If it doesn't work why am I paying for it? The point is they haven't solved anything. They just delay everything. Every single pest that I've hired them to deal with whether it be ants rodents bees stink bugs spiders doesn't matter they've all been here and have never been gone. The rodent issue is a real problem. So upon talking to them about the situation they said that they really wanna make sure that we're happy with their services and the result and want to make sure a manager reaches out to me to deal with the issue. The squirrels came back, called them, and was told they came in through a different section of what they tacked down. Wanted even more cash. I called around and got it fixed right, which it should have been done the first time, for significantly less than they quoted, from a company that had been in business over 25 years. They were great......UNTIL..... We signed up for the quarterly service last year for a spider problem. They came quarterly - and the service was good. Until this March. They came and inspected - I received a 100% CLEAN report! Then - roughly 6-8 days later we showed signs of BEDBUGS!!! They came and confirmed it. It's pretty clear what happened here. I know people working in Real Estate Management and I'm told this is not an uncommon event. Needless to say they wouldn't assume any responsibility for it - their cost for extermination $1400.00!!!! Plus we would have to wait a week for the service - ARE YOU KIDDING??? Supposedly the service people who check for and exterminate bedbugs don't perform quarterly inspections. But honestly - the service techs that came to inspect for bedbugs actually DO perform regular services......I saw them with my own eyes at my neighbors home doing just that! I wonder where they visited after my house..... Anyway, called another company who confirmed it was a VERY recent infestation only finding 3 adult bugs. They charged $1000.00. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered every single question I had about the pest issues we are experiencing.
