Best roti! I'm so happy I finally checked this place out and got some food. Be prepared to wait. I went on a Saturday afternoon and waited a little over 30 mins for my food to be ready. It's a kitchen and store. First you walk in the store and give your order. They will write your order down on two paper bags. Then you walk over to the kitchen side and give the bags to one of the people there. There were so many people waiting inside and outside the place. Finally they will call your name and you pay at the register in the kitchen. I didn't see anyone eating inside but there are chairs and bar seating. The service was great and everyone was super nice. The food is worth the wait. I got the beef, chicken and shrimp roti and one double. It was so fresh and tasty. I haven't stopped thinking about the food since. If you get a chance definitely stop by and put an order it. You won't regret it. Parking is tricky but if you're lucky you can get a spot in the lot or on the street. read more

Okay! not only is this one of my favorite restaurants in Massachusetts, it's one of my favorite ever! The roti is delicious! And that's not even my favorite item . My favorite thing on the menu is their doubles. and I've gotten a number of my friends hooked on them too! Not one negative review from anybody that I've turned on to this place. They all love the food. it's so good that if you don't get there early enough on certain days, there might not be anything left. It's so good that people come there for something specific, but May just buy whatever they've got available if the place doesn't have what they specifically wanted. You enter through the front door and go to the cash register on the left and put in your order and pay. Then you take the slip with your order on it and go to the counter and wait for your food. The guy at the register is really friendly. But this strictly a takeout place. You don't dine in. They also sell some spices and various grocery types items as well. So no real ambience to speak of because of that. The best way I could describe it is kind of like a family restaurant/grocery store. But a really awesome family! And if that wasn't enough, I'm gonna share a little story with you. I ordered through a delivery service about a month ago and the service drivers never delivered my food first driver couldn't find the place for some reason and then they got another driver and then that driver wasn't even close to the restaurant and wasn't gonna make it there before they closed. So I called them trying to get some resolution. And the guy who's usually at the register just told me don't worry about it. I'm gonna bring it to your place on my way home. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I was open to trying a new cuisine. JP Roti shop is a Trinidad family own shop that sells different selection of protein to be put in your Roti. I was told to get there double Shrimp filled with curried or stewed meats or vegetables like chicken, beef, goat or potatoes. You have to try there hot sauce in which does have a kick so I wouldn't ask for double for that. The amount of favor and seasoning you taste from the first bite is incredible. We got a beef roti and it was delicious, filling and CHEAP! - I think it was $9 and it fed two of us. They have other Trinidadian goodies that you can try. Everything seem reasonably priced. It gets pretty busy but service is fast. I got the Shrimp Roti w/chick peas, Pumpkin Squash and mixed vegetables. I love it. Hardy, little spicy, a little sweet. My Mom preferred it without the pumpkin. Instead of a Roti, you can buy a plate. She will do that in the future. I didn't give 5 stars because of the location. It's on a busy Main Street and during afternoon and evenings, there isn't a place to park that's near to the restaurant . Because it's a great eat, it's packed. The line to order is ridiculous. One last thing, the Roti's bread should be smaller. The wrapping of bread is way too much. They did get my order wrong this past visit, but it's not going to stop me from going again. I like this place but I have a few reservations. To start, the food is really good, I prefer their fillings and sides compared to Ali's but their actual Roti dough is not as good. My favorite is curried goat roti (when you can get it), with potato, channa and slight pepper.
