Second experience here was not nearly as good as the first one. Did delivery this time. The chicken smelled "old", as in not fresh. Old chicken has a distinct smell and look - that's definitely what it was. Nothing tasted quite as good as the first time. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.

Lamb, jollof rice and Plantain

This is my second time trying Safari and I loved it! The food is delicious. The lamb spelled and tasted roasted, well seasoned. The jollof rice had the perfect amount of spice. The plantains weren't overripe or too greasy. The goat pepper soup had depths of flavor. It looks like a plain broth but, as a Jamaican, I'll be back for more. The service is quick and friendly. ambiance wise, it's more of a takeout restaurant with limited high chairs.

The fufu & egusi was delicious. The jollof rice was difficult o stop eating it was so good. The lamb was good and had good flavor, but was a bit tough. Overall the food was great though. The side sauce you get is real spicy. Inside is cute and small. I ordered takeout.

The food is really good. This is my second time ordering and no complaints. I wish I knew about this place before now!

The place was dead on a Saturday night. Zero vibe. Staff seemed very disinterested. The meal just wasn't great and expensive

Food was good, but expected more for 16$ than a small bowl of lamb and a ball of fufu.

They have a high ceiling with a plant attached to the wall as well The decorations drew the eyes up extenuating the high ceilings The menu was limited to just a few items. We started with a dozen oysters. Six were from Cape Cod and six were from Nova Scotia. They have a special before six o'clock where oysters are 2.00 each. We also had a dish of olives wihich were served with almonds marinaded in a spicy sauce. The service was outstanding. The waitress mentioned to me about the oyster special so I could order before six o'clock. Sh was on her toes. I had the seared tuna on a bed of rice. It was on the smaller side but filling. I ended the meal with butterscotch pudding. I wish I had the recipe. I certainly would return.

I visited this past weekend with my partner and sister for a birthday. Reservations were easy to get -- try OpenTable! The restaurant was very warm and welcoming, my first impression was "cozy". The service was really good, our server was super helpful in explaining the menu and pointing out the specials for the evening. To start, we got the olives and the cucumber salad. Both were really well done, the seasoning on the peanuts that came with the olives was amazing. Perfect amount of appetizer for three people. I ordered the steak frites, and my fellow diners got the Cod and the Gorditas. The steak frites were super flavorful, but the highlight of the dish was the fries. Coupled with the aioli, the fries were a huge hit at our table (you have to order them!). The cod was also really well done, when I come back I will definitely order the cod. We grabbed the butterscotch pudding and chocolate cake for dessert. The cake was super moist and the perfect consistency. Two desserts was perfect for three people. If you live in JP, you NEED to come to Vee Vee. Perfect for a special occasion!
