Jerk Chicken Roti

I had delivery for lunch and it was delicious! The chicken was incredibly flavorful and tender. The plantains were on point and the roti was solid. Add rice to the equation and you get a very filling meal. Portion sizes were huge so you get a lot of value

Got the jerk chicken roti and it was so good and a very good portion. I would definitely recommend! The chicken was extremely tender and well seasoned. The roti was also great!

I'd heard about Boston "hospitality" but figured it wouldn't hold me back from driving the 5 hours up from New Jersey to try the famous Singh's Rotis. Sure enough, I was treated to some no nonsense attitude, instructed what to order, take a seat, and wait for my food. I did feel dissuaded to ask too many questions, but beyond that the service was actually very much like coming home, as if to your tough uncle who actually loves you very much and will make sure you're well fed and taken care of. The owner and I chatted about our backgrounds, our tastes in food, and when the food did come out, he explained how to eat it best and gave me some extra sauce. And the food is BOMB. Totally worth the drive up. The roti is chewy, richly fried, slightly sweet, and decadent for every bite. The curried chick peas inside are the perfect filling. I imagine that on a frigid Boston night this combo would fill you up with warmth like nothing else. The Veggie Deluxe is a good wholesome meal with its lightly saiteed and seasoned mixed veggies, but at the end of the day, the simple no frills Double is all that's needed. While you'll probably grab the roti to eat on the go, the shop itself is spacious clean and has a nice traditional vibe. You can kick back and enjoy your roti while listening to some Desi tunes

Chicken roti

My first time trying trini food. I ordered doubles, macaroni and cheese pie, and chicken roti. The bread for the doubles and roti tasted really fresh. It was soft and pillowy. The doubles are very unique in flavor with a little bit of everything, savory, sweet, tangy. The roti said it comes with 2 sides inside the roti, but they weren't included. Also the first piece of chicken I got was really dry, like it had been forgotten in a fryer for a while dry, but the rest of the chicken was well cooked and moist, falling apart. The macaroni pie is dense but delicious, lovely crispy cheese crust. I really enjoyed it. The delivery was very well packaged, with lots of care and the food arrived fast and hot. This is the kind of food you'll get a craving for. I'd eat this food again!

We were attending a show at the strand theatre across the street and wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand. The employees were very friendly and answered our questions about the food before ordering. We went with the chicken curry and rice which was a good size for the price. We also tried their mango lassi which was good! It's made fresh and bottled for convenience. The menu has a variety of options for everyone. Overall a good quick spot.

A large is a meal and a half and the pricing is still reasonable for what you get. Some may debate me on the filling but the skins are not to be compared. I have been coming here for 30+ years and the skins have actually gotten a bit better, even though they were already great. New staffing had definitely improved the service. I can remember many years of having to get there by 6:00 if you wanted roti because they were on the last batch of boneless chicken and curried potatoes. In recent years they seem to have gotten better with managing portions and volume. The location is tough. I usually park on the side street just above them because the double parking mayhem of Blue Hill Avenue is not worth the stress. Few people ever dine in. There are a couple of booths but the business is almost entirely takeout. I do miss the Tremont Street/South End and Roslindale locations but I am so glad that Blue Hill Ali's is going strong!

As a restaurant owner myself, I know how important community support is, so I decided to stop by with my son. Before ordering, I politely asked a gentleman outside whether the restaurant served halal meat or had vegetarian options. Instead of simply answering the question, he immediately raised his voice and responded with an attitude, as though I had asked something inappropriate. I calmly asked why he was speaking to me that way. His response was, "I don't have time for you. I'm not here to make love to you." I was completely shocked and embarrassed, especially because my son was standing right beside me and witnessed the entire interaction. I have been in the restaurant business for years, and I understand that customer service can be challenging, but there is never a reason to treat a potential customer with disrespect for asking a simple question. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I chose not to eat there. My intention was simply to support a new local business, but I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I sincerely hope the owner addresses how customers are treated, because no one should feel unwelcome or be spoken to in that manner for asking about the menu.

My friend and I were looking for a place to get a good and filling meal before skating at Chez Vous and between the three options we narrowed it down to, this won. They have a parking lot for about 7 cars which was very convenient - street parking is also available but just more of a hassle. It smelled so good when we walked in. We tried to figure out the menu, but had some questions. After clarification, it made sense. They offer small, medium or large plates and vary in price depending on the type of meat selected. You can also add double meat or combine meats for an additional charge. We couldn't really see the food because of the condensation on the glass, but from the crevices, everything looked incredible which made it hard to decide. I would say there were about 20 different options of meats. I had never had ox tail before but I felt comfortable letting Flames do the honors of changing that so I chose that. I picked the rice with brown beans, steamed veggies, and oxtail. The really piled everything on. The prices are a bit high, with oxtail being the most expensive, but seeing that you can get two servings from a large plate, it doesn't seem so bad in the end. My friend had the yellow rice with curry chicken and cabbage salad. He also bought an Irish Moss drink which tasted a lot like egg nog. We had the food there. They have about 5-6 tables, each with two chairs, but or some reason the tables are all slanted down so just be careful of food or drinks sliding. The rice with brown beans was really good; midway through I tasted coconut and loved the sweet and savory combo. The ox tail was very tender and the sauce it was in was rich and tasty. The veggies were slightly over steamed but still good. My friend's curry was good. While eating we realized they sell patties as well as desserts; they have a case with these treats. I would recommend coming here for a freshly cooked and big meal. The customer service is also good. They had a sign on the bathroom that it was only for employees so just keep that in mind.
