The part itself maxes out around $200 even at a dealership -- so I don't know what the other $500 is for. It's disheartening when you come in being completely transparent and honest about your situation, and this is what you get in return. It feels like the more straightforward you are, the more certain shops try to take advantage of you. He cut me off telling me " Look listen just go get this" and when I was trying to ask for clarification for the timing belt kit he hung up in my face. They installed the repaired tipm, and when that didn't fix the problem, they told me I need to pick up my car pay them $1000 for trying and they refused to do any more work. Based on their advice, I ordered a brand new tipm for several hundred dollars and had the dealership install it, which had no effect on the issue. That puts me at around $2000 that I spent by taking my vehicle to toy tech. Rude owner, and incompetent mechanics. I am currently looking into whether I can file a small claim against this company.
