I have a 1993 Eldorado Cadillac that had two concerning service messages displayed on the dash. I started with another shop that quoted an unreasonable price then indicated they didn't have mechanics that worked on older cars, next I called the dealership to be told they don't work on old vehicles. Was referred to a couple of potential shops which also said they didn't work on older vehicles. Finally, I was referred to JR's and was delighted when I talked to an obviously knowledgeable mechanic about my car. I have to say the results were perfect. I had my freon topped off there today - very happy with the service and the pricing! Jon, unlike many mechanics (sorry guys), is personable and takes the time to go over the issue with you. He doesn't rush to push you out the door, but doesn't blab on either. Good customer service skills! This was my first visit there, and from the looks of it, I would say that if your car has serious issues, then they give it top priority and work late to fix it...If you've got smaller things that can wait, then it's best to call them ahead of time to set up the best day/time to bring in your car. That's what I did - called on Monday, set up for my AC to be serviced on Wednesday between 2PM-5PM and it got done! i call this man the Chevy-Lama. He eats, breathes, sleeps cars. He has nitrous in his veins, and a V-8 under his skull. Take your car here to get it serviced. On the chance the service isn't done correctly, the owner Jon will fix it himself. All right, i'm biased: this is my Daddy's shop. But, i see personally how dedicated he is to customer service, and retaining his customer base. He wouldn't up the price to screw one person over once; instead, he would rather charge less to keep that person coming back, and telling their friends ;). i have watched this man countless times thrash all weekend on friends' engines so that they could drag race the next day. read more

I called jrs wrench works and he was the only person who was friendly and caring and very very knowledgeable!!! They charged me a fair price and even checked my brakes because my abs light was on. I took my car in there at the referral of a friend and it came back to me with more things wrong then when it went in. When they called me to let me know the problem, they quoted me a price to get it fixed. I didn't have the money at the time so I went to get my car towed back home. I asked John to write up an estimate so that I had it in writing. He told me he couldn't write it up because they didn't know what was wrong!!!??? Question: how were you able to give me a price quote if you didn't know what was wrong with it?? When I finally did get the car back my battery was dead and no amount of charging it will get it to stay charged AND it was a newer battery. Also, I now have a shaking problem going on when I turn the steering wheel. I went to check the power steering fluid and the cap was loose and there was fluid all over. Hmmm, and I KNOW there hadn't been issues previously because I had just taking it for an oil change and it was clean after that. As I always check stuff after oil changes. FYI, the friend who originally referred me there ended up talking to her husband about it and realized she had made an error in sending me there. read more

When I had to take it back in a couple of days later because the issue had not been resolved (not his fault) he fixed it for free.
