To all my friends and family. J.S. Asphalt completed a driveway for us and a teardrop parking space in the front of our home. Their work was awesome however they are advertising in social media that with every contract you will get $250.00 discount. After the work was done, I asked the owner or co owner (supervisor) about the $250.00 discount. He stated to me with my grandson present that his company wasn't offering such a thing and that I must be confused with,other estimates we received. So I was ok with that received the invoice and paid in full. When I was on social media last evening I saw this offer again. When I inquired about it I was told that because they gave me such a good deal that the $250 was I guess incorporated into "the good deal". No where on the invoice does it state anything about a $250 credit. Just wanted to make people aware that something just isn't right with this. Why when a customer ask a question do you deny offering such a deal and it must have been another company Why do people ruin a good thing Please share with your friends and family. Just be careful when social media offers you a good deal. You may never see it in the end AND now they have blocked me from communicating with them. Guilty conscious maybe!!! read more

I am so pleased with the paving and sealing JS Asphalt did at my residence. The initial consultation with Heidi through to the finished product by Jim and the JS Asphalt crew was seamless and headache free. Heidi and Jim are customer service oriented and consummate professionals - they want their client happy with what is going to be done and they make sure it is done as agreed. The quality of the finished project shows their care and consideration to get it right the first time. I have a semi-circular driveway that butts up to a cement patio and the team did a great job to tie the two together and went above & beyond to make a few improved adjustments for a very reasonable cost at roadside entrance while on site. 'Everyone' on the crew was professional, happy and personable. I hired this company to replace my driveway and I explained in details what job supposed to be done. They requested some money at front. When the time came to do the job, they was delayed for a week and no calls to let you know they are delayed. Then they showed up and decided not to do the job, they simply walk away from the job. They are extremely unprofessional. Now I will be not be able to do the driveway until next year because everybody is booked and they also don't return your money. basically from my point of view, they steal your money and screw you up. Do not give this people any job. They claim to be a family company but the true is they are trash! read more

Got the driveway installed this week along with two neighbors, big mistake. When an estimate was finally emailed to me, I had several questions. I called with a couple of questions. Ask to have my last name spelled correctly, if they needed a deposit, slope of my driveway, concern about the water runoff from the house and a discount for getting multiple driveways completed at the same time. Answer, the owner will call me back and a discount will be determined based on the number of driveways completed. No return phone call. Get a phone the late afternoon, will be there tomorrow for the driveway. Day of paving, again addressed the slope of the driveway and water runoff with the son. Assured me they would slope the asphalt away from the house. Then tries to sell me a sealant for another $1,500 then almost automatically drops it to $1,000. Upon completion, immediate payment is demanded by the son, I'm at work. Stated that I would like an actual invoice for the work completed. After going around in circles, they would stop by the next morning for payment. They never showed up. I leave a message at the office, I have a check for payment, you never showed up this morning and about a discount. No return call, not surprised at this point. 8:00 PM, doorbell rings, it's the son looking for payment. Asked how I liked the driveway, it's raining out and pointed out the water now pooling up against the foundation of my home. He walks over, stares at it and says I don't see anything wrong. Then after being pressed a little, states you have build up the area with other material to get water away from the house. Ask about a discount for 3 driveways getting done, states price already has it factored in. At this point, I just want him off my property and write them a check. Very unprofessional. Son is just outright rude and gives you a bad feeling after speaking with him. I have water pooling against the foundation now, that must be dealt with. Cost of the job seemed like a moving target, whatever they can squeeze out of you. Quality of work, undetermined at this point. read more

Totally unsatisfactory. JSAsphalt replaced a short driveway for me two years ago. As a result of the new driveway from JS Asphalt, I've got meltwater running into my garage instead of down the driveway into the street. And I've got a depression running the width of my driveway about one-third of the way down where meltwater ponds and freezes. In both cases, the JS Asphalt Owner, Joe, gives me a bunch of not-our-fault mumbo jumbo and takes zero responsibility for any issues. Basically says there's nothing they can do about anything. Even though I had none of these issues with the 20-year-old driveway they replaced. Bottom line is we're going to have to replace our driveway long before we ought to have to. In addition, when they sealed the driveway last summer, the teenager who did the job was rude and inconsiderate and interrupted a business conference call I was on to demand immediate payment and would not take "later" for an answer. Just totally unsatisfactory. If you value reasonable customer service and quality work ... look elsewhere. I wish I had. read more

I had J S Asphalt install a top coat (2" x 50' x 25') on my entire driveway back in 2007, they added a 15' x 15' turn around and also installed 5' x 10' apron for my garbage cans. They came when they said they would, had to make a 2nd trip to the plant to complete the extra work I requested and only charged me $200 more than the original estimate of just the top coat. Very fair and professional group, I am very pleased with their work and here 8 years later it all is still in perfect condition. read more

I had my driveway done about two years ago. I was told that their paving material was superior because the individual pieces of asphalt were larger-sized. That seemed counterintuitive to me, but I'm not the "professional." After the job was done, I noticed very large gaps in the asphalt all over the driveway because these large pieces did not settle well together. I was also left with a speed bump at the bottom of the driveway because they did not make it flush with the road. I pointed out these issues right after the job was complete, and the response was basically that there was nothing that could be done about it. Additionally, the asphalt is beginning to crumble at the street, and I have a crack developing near the garage. Last fall, I noticed I was already starting to get tracks/ruts worn into the asphalt just from driving in and out of the garage, and they have only worsened since. That is completely unacceptable. The materials were obviously subpar. I would not recommend this company at all. read more
