The other company noted (see photos) that the area around the vent was still dirty, and at least one of the vents (which had recently been painted and had unbroken paint on the screws) looked like it hadn't been opened. When I brought this up to the company and requested a refund, I was told that I had paid for a basic cleaning, which covered the interior of the duct lines but didn't include vents and covers, and that those were covered under a deep cleaning service. I was not informed that there was a difference in cleaning types when setting up the service, and I noted that their website didn't specify this, either. Specifically, their website states, "Utilizing advanced equipment and industry-approved techniques, our skilled technicians meticulously clean all components of your duct system. This includes the supply and return ducts, registers, grills, diffusers, and associated parts." Their website also uses the phrase "beyond basic cleaning" to describe their sanitation and deodorization services--not their register/grille cleaning. After I pointed out via text that their website doesn't distinguish between basic and deep cleaning, I was ghosted. If you're going to pay for this, be aware of what you're getting.

It turns out quite a lot of work was not done and the service man took pictures to prove it. They recommended a thorough remediation plan and implemented measures to insure complete elimination of all microbial growth throughout the system. The value is enormous with the outline of the plan and proper recommendations put in place to help prevent future growth with UV lighting and air purifier as well as dusting thoroughly all vents in the house. However, two years after spending over $30K on two new units, the experience is beyond disappointing. Within 2 years after installation, we discovered several major shortcuts taken by the installers: they failed to install a safety switch (which led to a leak and ceiling damage) and didn't install the correct breaker for the unit. Each of these led to costs for us to repair. Now, we are dealing with a faulty coil and another $1500 repair bill. The most disappointing part is the lack of accountability. We shared all this information with Dave. It took 2 days to return a call then another week for him to say they wouldn't do anything to make it right. Instead they simply said we should have called them for repairs. Well when the ceiling is leaking, or the house is hot you call who can be there in 15 minutes. Not a company that will call back later. They may be nice people, but based on my experience, they don't stand by their work and their installation quality is poor.
