The problems I've had include hard upsells and unnecessary recommendations for work. For example one company offered to clean out my ductwork for close to $1000 when in fact I don't have any ductwork in my house (it was an added system to a home built in the 60s - it utilizes a dropped ceiling lined with cement board and vents not connected to any tube style ductwork. Last company even offered to replace my ductwork for $6,000. Really? But I do need yearly maintenance, so I called Price Buster and they set an appointment within a couple weeks. $98 for two yearly appointments . Tech came out and took roughly an hour cleaning the outside unit, checking and cleaning the inside components, checking the thermostat and running both the heat and a/c (I have NEVER had a company check the heat). He even cleaned the vents and admired the handiwork from the 70s. End recommendation? All is okay, see you next year! No upsell, no crap about ductwork. $98 sound high for two appointments? Not if value your time and sanity!

When Greg showed up he wanted to look at the thermostat, and I mentioned that the fan never stops blowing. He went to the unit and started working and within an hour he had the heater working just by replacing a circuit board and fan relay.
