How's it going to say horrible experience do not take your car there very in professional I had him do new plugs new wires new rotor cap everything they put the rotor cap on wasn't sitting flush they had one of the screws going in at a 45° angle two of the white spark plug wires were going to the wrong spark plug and he wouldn't refund my money because I had to pay another mechanic to come to my house and fix the damn truck and he won't return my call and he won't answer anything that has to do with this truck and I think he's a coward a chicken s*** and I'm about to ready to get an exploit his business I'm going to stand in front of his business with signs telling people and warning them not to bring their car there he don't want to answer my calls you don't want to refund me my money well I'll do that it's called the freedom of speech which is the First Amendment right and I have the right to do that I will not stand on his property I will not be on his property but I'll be across the street from his property then everybody know that this place is a rip off now his dad is a straight up honest guy he has another shop down the road and he's he he backs his work that man I respect his son piece of s*** yep I said it read more

SCAMMMERRRS!!! Took my car here a while ago since i got a "maintenance needed" on my dashboard. Took it to the shop and they said gas was leaking and the whole gas unit had to be replaced. I'm not car savvy so I was quickly fooled into thinking I had to get the entire thing replaced despite my car working perfectly before that. The owner was very very pushy over the phone and insisted that he start the process now. He quoted me $700!!! I was overwhelmed with worry and frustration because I didn't have that money. My bf suggested we take it to the Toyota dealer which we did and they said all the car needed was A NEW GAS CAP!! The gas cap I had was old and worn so gasoline was leaking. They quoted me $20 for the new gas cap. Saved myself from the trouble of having my car in the shop for too long and the money. Great family business that's trustworthy went to a shop previously and they gave me quote of 2000$ to fix my check engine light I came here and after their tech diagnosed my car it was only 380$ and after they fixed it the check engine light went away and loss of power was fixed too 10/10 for this business I will recommend all my family and friends here from now on! read more

J's definitely earned a 5 star. I started using them in the early 1990's. I have always gotten great service. My 2001 GMC pickup started having problems with the A/C. All the parts were original. J's tech Luis found all the problem, which were several. A/C is working fine. Took truck in today for brake check and repairs. Again, Luis replaced the necessary parts and brakes are fine. During the process, Luis found that the drive shaft was loose and needed u-joints replaced. Again, original parts so 23 years old. Also, I had the sway bar repaired years ago at a different shop. Luis found that the linkage on one side was completely missing. In case I forgot, Luis dropped me back home and pickEd me back up after work was complete. Luis always explains things so you can understand why something needs done. i usual check the internet to check the costs of repair. J's is always within those costs. if I could give this shop a 0 star I would, I went for a transmission diagnostics but instead they told me my alternator wasn't working properly keep in mind a diagnostics is 120 if you don't get anything done to ur car, fun fact is that I came to this shop to replace my alternator and they are now saying it's mess up and told me whoever I took it too didn't do it right I told them they were the ones who did it and they just said "oh" I had to replace my alternator AGAIN when it was brand new already for another brand new one just for them to finally tell me my transmission is too far gone to service and was changing me $3600 and up for a new transmission I ended up taking my car back and paid $240,, $120 for diagnostics that they said wouldn't charge if I got any work done to my car which I did the alternator and $100 for labor I took my car to another shop in perris and they told me my transmission was fine and it was just my fluids that were dirty and that my motor mounts were all broken I paid $3,600 less than what I was supposed too just because I avoided that shop AVIOD GOING TOO J's Family Auto Center if you don't want to get scammed. read more

Since I moved to Moreno Valley I've used this repair shop and usually the work is great however recently I got air condition service and spent a lot for a new compressor install... a month later the ac is blowing hot again... it was blowing warmish after install however we thought it was the new system breaking in... and now I go into to get the vehicle looked at and they want another $125 diagnostic and another $400 plus to refill the ac... not ok at all... they should've checked for leaks if that's the case when the unit was installed... instead I'm expected to spend another $600 I don't have with this "family" so far I've spent $4000 this year just keeping my vehicles updated and all of that has went here...I feel robbed And taken advantage of. read more

So initially I posted a review of this place and gave them 5 stars. That was a mistake. I actually learned that my radiator was never replaced. I would not recommend anyone to use this place. It's better to spend the extra money and go to the dealer. These guys are completely DISHONEST. They act like they are doing you a service, but they are just stealing from you right in front of your face. If you do use them get EVERYTHING in writing. Make sure that it's actually on the paper. This place tells you that parts are dealer only items when they are not. Also make sure to get everything they say they will do in writing I've had several bad experiences with them. They didn't do half of what they said they would on a replaced engine with high miles. I'd like to start off by saying on my first visit to J's,I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and the staff was very patient, and took the time to explain to me what my problem was,what parts and work I would need to have done to resolve my problem. They took the time to explain why and how one problem would create another if the problem went unaddressed. More importantly I am a single woman that knows absolutely nothing about cars outside of how to put gas in them and change a tire. lol I had shopped around because I needed quite a bit of work done,'So I had been told", and they beat every estimate I had without even knowing I had them. I had 3 estimates prior to coming to J's and 2 of the three estimates listed 3 additional repairs in which I did not need and the other one had one additional item that I did not need . So, with that said I can add honesty and integrity to the list of ways to convey my experience with J's Family Auto. My quote was on the money once the work was completed, I was charged exactly what was quoted to me .No extra or unnecessary upsales,just black n white,clear and precise estimates and high quality work. So far I would recommend this place because I took my car into the dealership and they gave me a list of issues with my car, almost 2500.00 worth of work. I took it to J's and I gave them the diagnostic check paperwork and they ran their own of course. Come to find out more than half of what my dealership said was unnecessary. I took my car to another place and they checked saying nothing was wrong that the dealership said. I walked out paying a little over 300.00. My car has been running beautifully. J could have capitalized off of what my dealership was saying...and they didn't. Thank you guys! read more

This is a late post but i was having cilinder problems on a truck i just bought and took it them and paid over 7oo dollars for full tune up next day check engine light comes on they hook up there computer and it goes aways a few weeks later my check light comes back on take it 2 another mechanic and he says i have 2 broken spark plugs in the back and after i mention i just got new spark plugs he said that 2 plugs in the back were never replaced so they half asses the job cuzz it was more work so i paid 700 dollars for what i dont live in moreno valley im out here in los angeles or i would of taken it back but very disapointed in there half ass work and the 300 i spent fixing someting they were supposed to fix read more

This place has horrible service I took my car in for a diagnostic check I drove the car down there just fine they kept it for days then when it was finally ready to pick up they said I had to get it towed out because it stopped working while they had it. So I had to tow it home with engine problems but when I first took it down there I had no engine problems now I'm stuck with a broken car. They had no problem offering me to fix the engine for over $700 when I didn't take it in with any current engine problems they also wouldn't give me any paperwork on anything they had done.
