I brought my car to RPM last week for the first time because my car had a catastrophic engine failure on Easter. The car needed a completely new engine, so it was a costly repair. but was fairly priced. The owner and staff were terrific! Knowledgeable, friendly, and kept in good contact through the process. What can I say, RPM turned an unfortunate situation into an experience we were able to deal with. To make a long story short. We broke down at eight in the evening. Had to find a shop to get towed to. AAA recommended RPM. The next morning, I explained to them what had happened the night before. At 930, they called me back and told me what I expected. The fuel pump went bad. And they told me what I didn't expect. Bad axle. Basically, it was a long night, and I just wanted to get home. RPM replaced my fuel pump, axle, and two rear tires. Got me out at 5:30 that day. At a reasonable price. It was still a couple of days I would live to forget. But I do appreciate all of RPM's help. read more

Took in my jeep because it wouldn't pass smog, was told I needed a new coil pack. Paid for it, went back for smog recheck still didn't pass, went back told him and they checked it once again and I was told cylinder 1 compression was 50lbs dry and 100 wet, and that I needed a new engine. Took it to Wood Crest Auto Service and I have 150lbs of compression in each of my cylinders. Never going back to RPM. Go to Wood Crest Auto Service they are great there!!! read more

Stay as far away as possible! Went in here because I had a coolant leak explained it was a coolant hose leak . Received a call about 10 minutes later saying it was my water pump and received a $1200 quote ! I briefly went back paid the $120 fee and drove the car away, the only reason I took it here was because it was an option through my triple A . I took the car to a shop down the road and 2 hours later the car was back to normal and it only came out to be $200 . read more

STOP! if you are looking for a carb guy this is it. I took my car to three different shops no one could get it tuned one place claimed to have "rebuilt" the Carburetor.. Every place had the same results the car wouldn't idle and I wanted to jump and rock all over the place. After one day at RPM the car is better than it has ever been. Service was fast and waiting area was pretty good. BUT overall not recommending... I got FULL SYNTHETIC oil change for $50 which is pretty good imo, I initially thought. Then I asked when I should come back for next oilchange, he said 5000 miles... WHAT.... for full synthetic? Invoice even says Mobile1 sysnthetic oil. Here are two possiblities... 1. They didn't use Mobile1 FULL Synthetic oil or 2. They just want me to come back sooner so that they get more business. . I really hope it's the latter but I would be naive if I believe they use the right product. (Now that I think about it) What makes me more mad is that they actually told me at the beginning that they were out of regular oil and they only had synthetic. So they told me to come back later if I want regular service. I think it was part of a scam to make me believe that they used the full synthetic. (Bitterly smiling... it's very cute guys...) not too bad for really quick oil change for $50 without appointment. But I got what I paid for at best and nothing more. I will take my car for next oil change on my normal cycle which is about 5-7k miles depends on the usage, but i am taking my business that has more trust worthy people. not only have I been treated like they have known me their whole lives- with compassion & willingness to do whatever they can to make a rough situation a little better I bought a 2005 Subaru back home in Pittsburgh and recently moved to Orange, California with no connections for car issues. I also know VERY little about cars so I tend to just put my trust in whoever is located near me. A few months ago, my car broke down off a freeway where AAA towed my car to RPM. The radiator had cracked and a bunch of other shit that I had no idea what it meant except it would cost about $600 (which to me is a lot of money. I'm in my mid twenties so cost of a month's worth of rent. Not good) I had two interviews that day, being new to the city. I was horrified by the timing of it all. Eimad, the general manager, explained everything to me so I actually knew EXACTLY where my money was going to. He said "Haley, we will rush this and I promise it will be done in a few hours. It will be ok. I will call you. Don't worry." Only two hours later, I get the call saying it will be done soon. "I take care of you, Haley, give me 20 minutes and it will be all done." I could not believe the service, but the care and humbleness in his voice. I was so grateful. ...... YESTERDAY I start my car up and I hear a squealing noise under the hood. I pop it to find out the belt had gone off the track. I figured I should not drive at all so I had AAA come tow it. My driver figured it just needed a new belt, nothing crazy. He told me to stick with a shop I have used before, so I told him RPM. We showed up completely unannounced. I spoke with one of the mechanics and he quickly found all of my information I had from the previous time and said to give him a moment so he could diagnose the issue. Eimad comes into the waiting room with the invoice. I was immediately crushed as he explained the harmonic balance (a part of the engine) had broken pieces which caused the belt to fall off. It all needed repaired. $550 I could not believe it and I panicked, calling my mom and trying to figure out what to do. I was not expecting that at all. Eimad let me take some time and when I asked if I could just get the belt replaced, he explained in full detail, bringing me to my car and showing me exactly what is wrong. Why I need every part on the invoice. No bullshit He could see I was close to tears. I also had work in 4 hours so I was questioning if I would make it. He said "Haley, it will be done. Don't worry. I will see if I can get the parts at market value so it's a little cheaper. It will be ok." A few hours go by and I return hoping it is close to finish and he points to my car and goes "Look Haley! I have TWO mechanics working on your car. We rushed it. We will take care of you. Give us an hour and it will be finished!" I wanted to cry, not because of my bad car luck, but because of how touched I was by the absolute care and kindness the RPM team showed to me. I paid the bill, which he was able to lower by $75, and I left feeling 100 times better than I did that morning. This is an auto shop you want to put your trust into. read more

They saw the issue and fixed it without hassle! Just got my baby back from this place...had horrible engine leaks and then some.. Initially took it to Lawrence Auto repair who referred me to RPM because I needed to clean out my engine, which only a few mechanic shops have the License to do. Unfortunately Lawrence did not have that draining system that the city requires. I say unfortunately because Mohammed at Lawrence is those one in a million people that EVERYONE loves. Just check out their reviews on yelp and you can see why! Anyways, towed my car from Lawrence to RPM auto. Long story short, Eimad (I think he's the owner) became family. He gave me his honest opinion that my car is not worth the fix. This, coming from a mechanic that makes a living off fixing cars just shows how much this guy cares about his customers (and his conscious). He let me keep his car at his shop for Almost a week till I made my decision to go ahead with the fix. Other mechanics quoted me almost 2 grand for the engine fix... After getting to know him, he agreed to take off $350, which came out to $1300. Earlier today I picked it up and payed $1,113. He emphasized with my current situation and gave me a huge discount. Replaced my leaking coolant reservoir for free. And man did they do an amazing job! My engine looks and runs like it's brand new. Would recommend this place to everyone and anyone...couldn't be happier :) read more
