Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. I called and was told by the owner that they did come but the truck was too big and a neighbor told them they could not block the street. The owner promised they would come back out by the end of the week as I wanted this done before Memorial Day. Again they never showed. I never received any type of follow-up call prior to the original appointment or to say they came and could not perform the work. My experience since I have bought a house is that these service companies/contractors do not have good business or work ethic; they either are not reliable and do not follow through, are that busy they don't need the work or are being selective in the work they do. After a brief conversation so both sides understood the issue we scheduled a date and time for the work to be done. The technician text'd us 30 minutes before his arrival and was right on time. He arrived wearing a mask, maintained a safe social distance while he surveyed the damage, explained what he was going to do, answered our questions and got to work. It proved slightly more difficult than expected and after conferring with his office they came up with a plan B, which he implemented and after a few hours our leaks were sealed. I waited several days after a couple of rainstorms and there were no leaks. We are 100% satisfied. A-1 was professional, competent and were not going to leave until the leaks were repaired.
