Gil even talked me out of a design idea that I had because the other (cheaper) way was going to look and function better.

I would suggest those of you who got screwed by them do the same. I live in Watertown, MA. They were walking around the neighborhood, soliciting business, which I found out later from the city that was not legal. They gave me a quote. Now I realize the estimate was outrageous. I told them they must secure a permit before they start the work. They showed up on a day that I wasn't home, with no notice and started the work with no permit. The city building inspector drove by on the second day, and shut them down. A month goes by and my porch is on temporary support pillars. They still had not applied for the permit, but they were happy to cash my deposit. They made all kinds of promises, including when I canceled the contract that the check was in the mail. It's now in the hands of the Attorney General and I hope to get my money back that way. I hope the attorney general can also file criminal charges.

I agree with Michael Y. They are nothing but thieves. They quote you outrageous prices for work and…read moreclaim that is the cost. I would never recommend them to anyone. They cash your check the same day you pay them and don't even give you a receipt for the work they claim they did. They don't even deserve one star and if I could put "no star" next to their business, I would!!

My initial review was 5 stars because my wife insisted and was very happy with the outcome, but I was hesitant for various reasons from having to deal with them. I am going to point them out now so you can understand what its like to work with them and also what their after work support is like so you know (which is also the reason for the updated review). After having the initial contact quote with Michael I though we would have them do the job but I wanted to discuss some more details so he sent his father over (Tom). After ironing out see details I said it sounds good and he should bring a contract over to discuss the work. This was in February when snow was very much likely to come and for this reason I would drive through my driveway to park in the garage for the cold and the snow. The next day I come back from work and their are 2 men tearing up my driveway with sledgehammers and making it so now I wont be able to park in my garage. I call Tom up to complain that first of all he started the work before we even had a signed contract and second because I needed my garage and temperatures would often drop to below freezing where its not recommended to lay asphalt so there was no plan to fix the driveway so I would be left without an entrance to my garage. This felt like his attempt to ensure I cant hire anyone else since he had already "started" the work. After my complaining they laid some sand so Id be able to drive into the garage, but due to the cold weather, the driveway project took very long and the whole time I was worried it would snow and it would be difficult to clear the snow with the snow blower over half asphalt and half dirt. In the meantime they started working on the driveway and that project took forever because again their were delays due to the cold weather and the snow. Sometimes they wouldnt even show up to work on it when the weather was good because it was obvious they were out destroying other driveways to ensure more people would have to work with them. I mean they already had my work..so why finish it and not get more clients. I would call and complain when a couple of weeks with good days would go by and no one would come work on the patio and then one day out of the blue, Tom goes there while I am at work and needs to clear the patio with Water so they could apply the polymeric sand and my water is turned off due to the cold and due to the fact that he didnt tell me he was coming so he asked my neighbor if he could use their water (without even calling me to tell me about this). I go home and find out about this from my neighbor who said they told them their faucet was having leak issues and it wouldnt be a good idea but he looked at it and said he could fix it and it would only be 5 minutes. He wrapped the leaky portion with some duct tape and proceeded to use the water for over an hour. Then I had the neighbors upset with this because of him. Fortunately they werent mad at me, but not talking to me about any of this before was unacceptable behavior. Then again lots of time went by when they wouldnt come to finish the job which only needed was for them to apply the polymeric sand and then hose the area down. When they finally did come back, Michael had the nerve to tell me that they had done this but due to the bad weather the sand didnt stay. They had not done it as it was clear from the work that the job was unfinished (and I have cameras that look at those areas and when they did work I would review the footage to see what they did..also, Tom would be extremely pushy about the money even though when they want you to sign they state they wont take any money till they are finished with the job and you are satisfied, but this is not true as Tom will constantly badger you for some money to "pay his workers". But despite all this when the work was done, everything did look good, my wife was happy with the results and before finishing the job, Michael would always respond on yelp or via text within the hour and my wife wanted me to leave a 5 star review so I went along with that. But fast forward to now, and there are portions of the asphalt tearing away and at least 3 areas that look like holes are being made somehow. the photos may not be clear but what looks like wet spots is actually portions that the asphalt is tearing away. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2kTPmNaHPVmhLEod9 That along with my neighbor showing sent me pictures of a flower breaking through the asphalt right in the middle of her driveway and then coming here to yelp to message Michael and reading another review of a bad driveway and the not getting back to the person, made me very frustrated with their work. I hope this review helps others!
