I've been using Providence labs for blood draws for a long time. I've gone to Providence Gateway…read moresince 2003. One thing I could always say is that the phlebotomists were very good. That has changed. I can only speak for myself, but that was a bad experience. For one thing, when I go to a hospital or any medical place, I expect for them to not gossip about other patient. Today, I heard them talking about a 17 year-old. They were being sarcastic and saying how they really didn't want to ask someone that age about her cycle. You shouldn't even be talking about patients. We were the only ones in there. Then, this harsh voice called me back. I only wanted to get a thyroid test. I told her I was going to opt out of the other two tests that she mentioned, and she told me that the doctor would have to recall in everything then. I said, I was told that I could refuse, but I didn't want to take. She said that if she did that, it would erase everything from the system. That's what I said, that's what I want. Usually, phlebotomists are really nice. They're kind, because they know people are often stressed. I mentioned that I have been dehydrated, but not a word from her. She was a fairly good draw, though, because I actually don't have a bruise. So that is my one compliment, which is a big one. I'm an easy draw, but I have had a couple people messed it up. I'm not talking about in this lab, but in labs in general. Personally, I'm going to Adventist help from now on. I don't need this.

Since they started at the hospital service has gone downhill. I have experienced them not showing…read moreup when they should have been open, inexperienced lab techs, 2hour long wait times even when I mentioned that I had been there before people that they were getting back before me and STAT orders that currently have still not been sent to my doctor-5 hrs later. I am a heart, kidney and diabetes patient whose dr ordered these stat! Sadly because the hospital chose Labcorp I now have NO choice but to use them. Just know not to expect a lot from labcorp when you go and take 2 hrs out of your day!
