I am extremely disappointed with my dip powder manicure. The application was poorly done. The dip powder is uneven, lumpy, and bumpy, with visible imperfections and lifting around the edges. The polish doesn't come close to the cuticles, leaving gaps that make it look like weeks of growth on day one. The shaping is inconsistent, and the finish is rough rather than smooth and professional. To make matters worse, my cuticles and surrounding skin were left dry and ragged, giving the entire manicure an unfinished appearance. Looking at my nails, it's hard to believe I paid for a professional dip powder service. I've included photos because they speak for themselves. Kind technicians, just left with a little bit of pain. Went today to get dip manicure fixed as three days ago the dip manicure left me bleeding on my left thumb (technician cut my thumb and skin surrounding thumb; dip with bumpy and uneven, lots of air bubbles and crackled texture). Salon technician couldn't match the color today so I kindly told him it was fine instead of doing pink to match we can redo all of it to another color. Salon technician said "no then we'd have to start over" so he just applied a surprise color (purple) gel polish on top of the dip nails that were bumpy and broken from 3 days ago and when filing my middle finger on left hand, i was cut (new injury) again!! and the skin around thumb was injured again (original injury happened three days ago here). I have been getting pedicures here over a year and a half. They always do good. Today I decided I'd get a gel manicure. Nail polish removed and tips glued on. Then he cut them down. They were not all the same length which I didn't notice until he started to put gel on. He then filed them more to the same length. Another lady came in to get her nails filled in so he sent me to get pedicure. While that was getting finished he came back over and proceeded to grind my nails there. Pedi done we go back to nail station. I'm thinking I now get the rest of manicure but nope, on top of the grind dust on my nails he applys the color gel and top coat. Ok done. While I'm waiting for my toes to dry, I notice that the color does not cover all nails on sides and top of thumb. He was busy on phone so the sweet girl that did my pedicure took me back to manicure table and fixed polish. Then she noticed the cuticles had not been trimmed so she fixed that. If not for her my nails would probably have started peeling and chipping. I'm thinking I need to find a different place as I was charged $60 and did not get the cuticle softening or hand massage or anything like a manicure. 12/21/23 I went to have a manicure with acrylic fills gel polish and a pedicure at JT Nails & Spa! I was a walk in but I was walked directly to a pedicure chair where I was handed a 2 page color book. The book was torn into 2 pieces and there were some holes with nail pieces that were ripped out. The colors looked like there were from the 90's and I didn't like any of the colors. The woman who did my pedicure didn't speak English and had to keep asking the employee beside her. She proceeded to the step when the color was to be put on. Women that were also having a pedicure were handed 2 rings of colors. I was told that I had to walk to the front of the store and choose a color. So I walked up to look at bottles and of course you couldn't see the final color when put on. I really didn't like those colors either. I just grabbed one to get out of there. As I turned to walk back to the pedicure chair there was a small 3 shelf cart that was full of nail sample rings. I stopped and looked at them. I found one that I liked, it was a reflective cats eye color. The receptionist walked over to me and immediately grabbed a different ring, trying to make me change my mind. I told her that I didn't want those colors and I continued looking for the color I wanted on the ring that I was originally looking at. I felt like she thought I was poor and couldn't afford the upgrade polish. She again grabbed a different ring of colors and was trying to change my mind. By then I just wanted to get out of there. I grabbed a different ring and found a color that I could live with. I went back to the pedicure chair and let her finish. Then I was walked to the manicure table and was told that I had to wait a few minutes. Ten minutes later a different woman came over to do my fills and gel polish. I was relieved that it was a different person. She started my fill and asked how I wanted them shaped and if she wanted them shortened. I asked for a little to be taken off so they were all of the same length. I also asked for square with the corners slightly rounded. I still just wanted to get out of there, I looked at the color when she was finished. I paid the $80 for the service and handed the pedicure woman a $5 tip and the nail service a $10 tip. I didn't really look aty nails until I got home. I was so disappointed in them. My nails are not filed the same length, some of them were filed concave and the corners were not filed the same on either side of every finger. My nails have never looked this bad. No true shaping, buffing, NOTHING. I went to Target to get a nail file to fix what they failed to do. No attention to detail. One nail is uneven and warped. The only way to fix is to have additional powder added. The manicurist (never told her name) didn't even look at my nails to make sure they were even and perfect. Just because I am a tourist doesn't mean I don't expect quality work on vacation and for $40 I expected better than what I would get for $30 in TX. My nails were barely needing a fill and were PERFECT. I was trying to get them done before New Years and before the holiday and everything being closed for 3 days. I should've just waited to return to NC or TX where I know people know what they are doing. P.s. there are more sanitary ways to apply dip powder vs sticking clients fingers in the powder. My technician in TX apples the powder like acrylic with a brush. Perfect for attention to detail, sanitation, and value for my money and time. Powder and color were still left on my skin. If I could do 0 stars I would, I, my sister and her daughter came in to get our nails done and as we went in there we were getting very dirty looks from the manager and the receptionist. After we told them what we would get they were saying that it's very expensive and we've all gotten out nails done so we know what's expensive and what's not and we knew these would be about 90$ or 100$ so we told them okay we already knew. So then they try to make us pay BEFORE the nail set was done which makes no sense. I went to take my eyebrows to wax, I had many! I take my eyebrows out in the right way I like it but I get very thin. When I left I realized that I didn't change the bedspread where I was lying down. After my crazy move I needed to get my nails done desperately, saw a couple of reviews on this place and chose to come here. The shape was great of my nails but when he started to paint my nails it was horrible. The nail polish was in my cuticles on and on my skin! He put the topcoat on them then he put me to dry. I looked at my hands and I asked him if I can get a clean up. It was horrible he had an attitude then put me to dry again. So I got up and I told him it was unacceptable my hands looked dirty. So I told myself OK let me give him another chance and pick another color. As he was taking off my nail polish he asked me where I'm from. I told him I just recently relocated from South Florida and he told me oh that's why !! every City is different honey.
