The rest of the food may be good but since I didn't try it I can't comment. What I had was the shrimp pad thai and it was one of the worst I've ever had. Didn't even look like pad thai. It was more like noodles with a sweet red sauce and some shrimp. So maybe stick with the sushi which seems to be their speciatly. read more

If you're going to eat sushi in North Bay, this is the place to do it. They have a pretty varied AYCE menu, with iPads for ordering. The food isn't 100% consistent, but it's never actually bad- just sometimes a little better put together! JT's is awesome! My boyfriend and I were visiting north bay from the states and wanted some sushi so we went here. For $15.95 you get all the sushi and Asian hot food you want. It's not buffet style, rather there is an iPad at your table that you order off of... as many times as you want. It's a fantastic deal. The sushi is great quality; they don't skimp on the fish like you might expect from an all-you-can-eat style place. The the staff is extremely quick and helpful. JT is my favourite restaurant in North Bay. The food is consistently excellent. The service is always good. Naturally, it will take a while to get all of your food, because the place is always busy, but once you send your order by iPad, you will start getting food within minutes. I have to say that they are now too accurate in getting you your order. It used to be fun to try new foods that you did not order, that the servers brought to your table by mistake, but that ended once they started using iPads. I miss those days. The all you can eat feature is perfect because you can never leave this restaurant and still be hungry. I have to admit that it has been difficult not attending during these ridiculous lockdowns. Fairly impressed with the food. Not nearly as authentic as you get in Toronto but decent for the limited food choices you find up north!

First impression was: seems hot in here and what is with the carpeting? -minus a star. We went to for dinner last night with some friends and was a little impressed -but not blown away. The dragon rolls, tempura (tried shrimp, sweet potato and veggie) cashew chicken were excellent - but the mango salad, and veggie pad thai were far from authentic and approached a high yuck factor - minus a star. I'd probably go back but I'll stick with the Japanese side of the menu. read more

The food is excellent. If you can get over the small language barrier, things will go well. Try to have an open mind and try new things.

I was very unimpressed. They took forever to serve us and they were very rude. Our total bill was $53 for two people and we only got served once. I had to go up and grab a new sheet to order and they never came to get it. I have always tipped servers until tonight, this was possibly the worst service I ever had. The last two time I went the service was similar but tonight was over the top. If you are in north Bay just order a pizza, it will save you much frustration. read more

Ordered a take-out. Paid $16 for an assorted sashimi on rice (Chirashi Don). I was expecting 13 good sized sashimi on rice. Hugely disappointing when I came home and saw that half of the sashimi were crab meat. I don't know about other Yelpers but I don't consider crab meat to be a sashimi like i would consider a salmon, tuna, unagi, etc. Instead, I'd consider them to be a cheap-imitation of sashimi. Overall, low quality for price paid. With $16, you can get decently sized chunks of sashimi (salmon, white/red tuna, etc) on rice in a few restaurants in downtown Toronto, even. read more

Love the food! Dine-in is much better than takeout or delivery. Great price for all-you-can-eat, very fast at cooking and table service is pretty good. Love that you can order from table on demand and it arrives promtly and freshly cooked. The edamame, beef teriyaki, and beef sashimi are my favourites, and the green tea ice cream really is something special! read more

They advertise as ALL YOU CAN EAT, but limit tables of 2 people to 11 items. Anything beyond that and you will wait for periods of 30min+ While you watch tables near you get seconds over and over. They really would benefit from a more HONEST business approach. I do not recommend this place to anyone, if their main selling point "All you can eat" is a lie, what does that say about the ethics behind the rest of their business? read more

i hate to sound like a sushi snob but this place is FAR from serving authentic sushi. in fact it's much too westernized for my liking. if i wanted sushi that tasted like it was mass manufactured by a supermarket, i'd go to sobey's for bentobox. however, i had high expectations of this restaurant when i heard about it. first of all, north bay is not known to have an eclectic variety of food that many people will find appetizing (i notice it's more of a burger/fries kind of town) so it's great that this place has been able to survive. there are a few other sushi places in town that are much smaller but i have yet to try them out. i was disappointed with the quality of the food - everything seemed to be drowning in grease. deep fried whatever used in rolls should be light, crispy and the oil used should be barely noticeable. this was not the case. everything that was deep fried was over fried to the point of drowning out any actual flavor. the rolls themselves had more rice then quality filling. it's unfortunate that this restaurant couldn't be better and give north bay residents a more authentic taste of what japanese cuisine should be - delicious, light and flavorful. the first star is to note "eek! methinks not" and the second is for the decor - nice and simple, washrooms were clean. everything else--- so disappointing. read more
