I went to JTB Nails to get a basic manicure. The nail technician got out a drill to remove the old nail polish! Yikes! The nail tech was awful! Now, I my nails are very thin and keep chipping. AWFUL service. We made an appointment for three pedicures - one of us had to wait and they couldn't seat us together. One leg was rubbed for SO long with the sugar scrub and it really hurt and the other leg was barely massaged. Very thoughtless. I didn't get a base coat (!!) and only ONE OF MY FEET got toe spreaders. Wax was left on my legs. Polish application was uneven and left on my skin. I went in to get a pedicure with French tip when she ended up painting my French tip I wanted it thinner language was definitely a barrier because I told her five times thinner and on one side of the big toe was painted kind of like a curve and the other side was squared off it didn't match and I asked to make it match and she said it's already dry so I had to leave with what was already done That was the first thing. The second thing was she used the cheese grater thing on my foot which is fine by me, but she didn't have a hook to the handle. She just had the blade in her hand and it was not effective, and when she was done doing my pedicure, the whole bottom of my heels Were so jagged. It was catching on my sock, and then I had to point it out and when I pointed it out, she sat down and got the cuticle clipper and started peeling skin off my heel with a cuticle clipper. The gentleman came over and told her to use a callus gel remover and the pumice stone. Needless to say she did do it again it was not done Correctly. It still catches on my socks, but I am not about to spend any more time in this facility. The bottom line is if I have to tell a professional that does pedicures that my feet on the bottom are all rough and skin is jagged catching on my socks. I had no prior knowledge beforehand about what they were using and looking back at it now, if I had known, I would've never gone to begin with. My nails were crooked and poorly shaped, and getting them removed felt like I was being tortured. Instead of a soak off, they took a nail tip to scrape and carve into the nail which left my natural nails damaged. I was practically begged to tip more than what I could afford. My daughter and I choose JTB Nails based on the high Yelp rating. We were disappointed. My daughter(20) is Deaf and they seated us far apart, I told the stylist working on my nails that I would need to go interpret, but she just kept working. My daughter wanted stiletto shaped nails and did her best to communicate this with the stylist, including typing in into her phone, but got coffin shaped nails instead. Both of our nail sets were very rushed, I kept thinking that they had forgotten that there are human beings at the end of the fingers they were working on. In the end, my daughters fingers are cut up, swollen and sore, her nails are very thick, different lengths and widths, they don't look good. Mine look okay if you don't look too hard. But they are crooked and overall not well done. We went there to relax a bit, but I ended up leaving so much more stressed than when I arrived. I like this place a lot, especially for their pedicures. The deluxe pedicure is a reasonable price, is really relaxing, and I actually notice a difference in my feet. The polish also lasts a ridiculously long time. I also enjoy manicures here, but I'm a little less brand loyal on that front. I like the selection of colors and I think the nail techs there are very good at their jobs, but I'm just not attached to manicures there. Pedicures, however, are fantastic. I will probably not go anywhere else. In terms of Covid precautions, they took my temperature and recorded it and asked me to apply hand sanitizer immediately upon entering. Masks were required the entire time, and plexiglass barriers were installed at the pedicure and manicure stations as an added barrier. The door was also open, which increased ventilation. This location is pretty big, and it was fairly empty, so I didn't feel crowded or like I was too close to anyone at any point. Obviously you have to gauge whether or not you're willing to take the risk in pandemic times, but if you're looking for a pedicure or manicure, I felt safe at this place. read more

Used to be the best place in town but not anymore. Here comes the Constructive criticism: 1. Dirty instruments kept in rotation from one customer to the next. I don't understand why there isn't a sanitation protocol? Rather everyone just looks the other way. Like it's some kind of magic trick to make dirty nail clippers appear and disappear. Cleanliness and preventing foot fungus spread should be at the forefront. To be fair not many pedicure manicure salons take this into consideration. Although I have come across salons that actually demonstrate sterilization for instruments. This is not one of those salons. 2. They normally set a timer and give you a legit foot massage for a set time. When I went in the other day there was no timer set. I got the fastest sloppiest pedicure I've ever gotten. The man giving me a pedicure had long fingernails and they were cutting into the bottom of my feet I shared that it hurt and all this did was frustrate him and made him stop the entire foot rub. 3. The paint was put on my toes really fast. Lack of precision. Definitely the worst paint job I've had. As soon as the paint was on he was quick to kick me out of the chair so he could put the next customer in. I've never been pushed out of a pedicure so fast. Remind you I left behind my friends I came there with. 4. When I went to pay for the pedicure I was put on the spot by one of the employees. This employee asked me how much tip I wanted to leave. She yelled it out loud so the whole entire salon could hear. Felt pressured but I stayed true to my values. I knew that this pedicure did not deserve gratuity. It was already a $30 pedicure. Why would I pay more for a below average pedicure? Why would I reward that work ethic? When I punched in zero dollars for the gratuity there was a lot of talk going back at forth in Vietnamese. It felt like they were talking about me and the zero tip. Word of advice, if you want a tip? Earn it! No one gives me tips at my job. Side note: My friend paid with a gift card. A week later she found out her credit card was charged and the gift card difference was not taken off. read more

We always bring in something from Pintrest and they do their best to match the art we choose. The prices are fantastic and the pedicures are amazing. **UPDATE** I am adding to this review as it has been a few months since this poor experience & my nails were so damaged in my last manicure here that I just had to cut my entire nails down to the skin, my nails were so uneven from the use of the drill file & the last lady that did my manicure here used acrylic under the gel on my natural nails even though I said no 5 times, in trying to remove her work my nails peeled so badly they were super thin & painful to the degree my nails could not be saved from the damage. I am in a major repair process, I had long natural nails that I had been growing for one year. I posted photos of what they look like today, one of them broke & peeled so badly it is raw. They're all sore & tender... I have been committed to this salon once per month for one year, it's been great every time until the the past two months. Lately my manicures have been rushed skipping the parafin wax treatment at the end, making my cuticles bleed on numerous fingers & inconsistent shape & polish... However the core reason I will no longer be committed to this salon is my poor experience today with a technician throwing tools around, rolling eyes, deep sighs of unhappiness, cut one of my natural nails completely down to the skin then proceeded to glue on a fake nail tip (?!) - it was simply uncomfortable on many levels, even with being ultra polite & saying my please & thank you's. I used to come here religiously until I slammed my thumb in my car door last year and I waited until it healed to come back. New workers now... the lady who did my nails/toes today was really bad. She was mean and my toe polish looks like I did it myself. The polish is sloppy and my toenails are cut uneven. My finger nails are all different shapes, super thick (got acrylic), and my pointer finger on both hands are extremely long compared to the rest of the nails. I'm very sad since I only get one day every month to be able to get my nails done (full time job and 3 babies at home) and this is how they look. I have given this salon three tries, and I am done. The last straw was when I asked for my gel nail color to be soaked off opposed to being sanded off with a dremel. I was overridden and told the drill is better, she sanded my natural nails to the point they bend like thin card stock. It is going to take months to grow this damage out. Prior experience? Dust from prior manicures (there is a lot of nail dust in the stations and towels are not changed between customers) being sealed into the gel finish. After carefully scouring reviews (and calling in a last minute appointment), I visited JTB yesterday--and I am so glad I did! Don't tell my usual place, but I think I found a new nail salon to frequent. I knew it'd be pretty busy when I got there, so I sat back and just observed while I waited. A few things to note: it's spacious and clean, and it doesn't have that usual "chemically" nail salon smell. It smelled like a spa! The massage chairs are nice and comfy, and they actually have little stands for the remote (as opposed to other salons, where the options are: sit on remote, drop remote on floor, or find somewhere to put remote). I was pretty ecstatic that JTB also carries matching shellac/regular polishes, since I usually match my mani/pedis with the same colors. I highly recommend upgrading to the deluxe pedi--way worth paying $35 for. Plus I got a shoulder massage out of it! All in all, this was a wondrous experience...and for the price I paid, I am beyond impressed. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Making sure you look model ready for the summer. I got a man who was fabulous! Then the lady took over and did the massage. This place was recommended to me by a friend saying that she loved getting pedicures at this place. Now I have come twice to this place. This time I got Dip and I have done it before just by a different place and they did an amazing job this experience was different. I came in New Years eve and there was 1 other customer so not busy at all. The workers were doing each other nails which is fine I have no problem with that I'm just stating it wasn't busy. Since I had dip before they had to remove it and when they started the process to remove it and they sanded my finger. Okay I understand the first time accidents happen but it happened 2 more times. One of them I even started to bleed and she didn't even say sorry. She wants rude by any means but still. We still went on and continued with the dip when I washed my hard I noticed that I had some sharp edges so I advised her of it and she was kind and fixed it. Everything looked great. Now I took a few days to write this review because I wanted to see how they held up and honestly. I have had 2 nails chip and 3 nails the sealant has peeled off. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is beyond HORRIBLE. First of all, they have a horrible attitude and they are always mad, they treat you like you don't know anything. I kept going because it is super close to my house, every time I went they treated me really bad and one time a lady yelled at me, I don't know her name but she is always very mean. This time was beyond awful, I went to fix a nail and it was okay but my friend needed to remove her acrylics and instead of using a gentle way to remove them they did it with a little knife and it was hurting my friend, on the picture you can see how her nails are looking red and they really hurt her. While we were telling them that it wasn't okay to do it that way they were laughing at us saying that we didn't know a thing about nails. I've been doing my nails my whole life and never in my life they removed acrylics with a knife. My friend was complaining and they kept saying that that was the only way to remove it. At the end we were going to pay and the girl threw my friends card at her and was mad because we didn't leave tip (like they deserved it). This place is always packed and the reason is because they are affordable and quick (usually). However, I think I'd rather start spending a little bit more because the people who work here are extremely rude to their customers and talk about them. Not only this, but Kayla is a terrible person who talks about another employee to customers. She commented on my nails another girl had done and stated "She's horrible. Don't go to her. She doesn't do good jobs." They also claim people don't have appointments. Why would your customers come in when they don't have appointments? This last time, I made an appointment for Saturday 9:30am with Kayla. The lady on the phone did not ask for my name or number, so I was concerned. I offered my name and number and they said "No, it's fine." I showed up early and the place was already packed and someone was already with Kayla. Another employee approached me 15 min later and she spoke to me in a very nasty tone. The girl who Kayla told me not to see approached me and said that Kayla told her she could do my nails, but I requested specifically for Kayla. Lily is the truly a master. She is so sweet and very skilled with nails. She is gentle and her acrylic set with gel is so thin and natural looking..... Maxing and relaxing. I pretty much chilled out on the couch while my wife got her nails did. All the gear here looked pretty brand new. The couches were comfie. The whole place did smell like Vicks vapor rub. My wife says give them a five star but I can't get the smell of my rave days out of my nose. 48 for nails and toes, but I guess that's is supposed to be a good deal.
