I am the father to my son you not only ripped off on the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but sold him an UNSAFE vehicle that could've gotten him injured or worse. Here is the correct timeline... Thursday 9/21/23 my son who bought that trash called me in a panic over the multitude of issues he had. I called your place and spoke with Brian who sold it to him. Brian said in his words, "Well buddy, he has a 90 day warranty on it, so don't worry, have him get it here and we will take care of it." After explaining to Brian the issue was more than windows not functioning, he did say it was still under warranty and you would "take care of it". So, same day my son drops it off to you. I called to clarify with Brian what your shop will do. When I called, I got someone who wasn't Brian, but when I asked for Brian, I was immediately sent to a general voicemail box. I waited to call back a couple hours later....same crap. My phone number was obviously flagged so Brian wouldn't have to speak with me. My mistake was that I mentioned to Brian I lived out of state and unfortunately couldn't be there to assist my son (who you took a jab at in your response to my other son about him not being able to "express his concerns on his own") is mentally ill and has bipolar disorder. Besides that, he knows NOTHING about vehicles, nor did my ex wife who was with him. So in theory, you took advantage of that unbeknownst to Brian that my son is mentally ill. His brother came with him to defend him because your slimy sales tactics surely would've intimidated him. Saturday 9/23/23, they call and notify him "everything is fixed" and is in good working condition, come pick up when you're able to. Within an hour of him picking it up, he got stranded in a parking lot near his home (not on a beach off-roading as you falsely claimed) and I had called a tow truck place to have it towed to his house. Sunday 9/24/23, I contact my mechanic who is the grand master of Jeeps, thankfully. He said to get it to his home in Farmingville, in which we had it towed there. Monday 9/25/23, my mechanic takes a good look at it whilst up on his lift. He said in his words, "I really am sorry your son was taken advantage of like this. I have heard of other similar stories about JTL and the nightmares others have had." He takes a few pics (which I will be sharing on this review) and said to me, "The entire under carriage is swiss cheese. I will need to replace both rocker arms which both were cracked, tie rods, CV joints, all 4 shocks are blown out, brake lines are shot, wheel bearings decimated, and that was only within the first half hour of him inspecting it. There is much more John, but I really don't want to bore you with the mechanical details, only to say this first repair with parts just costed me $1806 out of pocket, and that is a major deal only because I am friends with this mechanic. This work will HOPEFULLY make this Jeep somewhat safe and roadworthy, but not 100% guarantee he said. The ball joints will be next on the list to be replaced, but it's not an easy job he said because there is quite a bit to remove to get to them. What a line of BS you said about it being "covered in mud so he must have taken it of road" Yeah ok buddy whatever other lie you have to advertise in your snake oil salesman reply to the public you gotta say. Do you know their driveway is dirt as it is shared driveway with a landscaping company who also uses it to enter the street? Nah, you wouldn't know nor would you care, but you have no problem making another false statement saying he took it off road. You honestly think if he took it say on the beach to "off road" that it would've even made it 8 feet without the entire under carriage being left behind and the axels/wheels falling off!?!? You know who and what you are John. God will judge you by this and all the other times you have screwed people over. Sorry you feel the need to rip vulnerable people off. What a great reflection of a "family business" you represent. Wish I had $$ for a good attorney, but it's going to repairs now. read more

The moment I saw these guys I could see right through them. You would think after decades of the stereotype of shady car dealers they might try to change it , not these guys. While I was away my brother and my mother were looking to purchase my brothers first car. They both have no idea about cars and these guys jumped all over it. They sold them a 2004 Jeep Cherokee with 175,000 miles for four grand that is not worth more than a thousand. When I first looked it over it's a car that should've been scrapped. Rusted over and not in safe working condition at all. After not even a month of driving the problems started. Windows stopped working, steering wheel violently shaking, the whole nine yards. Because of this we took it back to them and requested a refund, which they aggressively declined and started citing laws and everything in the fine print. They were very friendly when selling very angry when they were outed. They said that they would try to fix it. They took it back and only fixed the windows, problems still persisted. Took it to an actual mechanic and the shocks are shot, wheel bearing need to be replaced, cracked leaf springs and more. The thing is a rust bucket and a money pit and the damage to this vehicle was present at the time of purchase unbeknownst to my family. Business must be pretty bad and they must really be struggling if they can't take back a four grand deal. Oh no that's not the problem, they knew it was a bad car and they don't want to dump money into it and won't get lucky to sell it to someone else who doesn't know any better. They knew it was a bad car on its last limb but said multiple times "This is a good car". Anything for just four grand. Satisfying customers is not these guys goal, but I'm sure they are used to not satisfying people in their life. read more

I can say I was desperate to get another vehicle the day I bought my truck from JTL and Brian the fink saw me coming. I paid way more than it was worth and I'm still pouring money into it. The day I drove it off the lot I only got a few miles from the dealer and turned around and went back. I proceeded to bring the car back many times more. Brian ducked me by phone so I had to show up in person. The check engine light went off the first week I had the car along with the light for rear end stabilization. They fixed the check engine light but couldn't replicate the stabilization part. I had taken a picture of it so they could see it. I was having trouble starting it and brought it back many times for this. They said it was the fuel pump and said they replaced that. Then when I brought it back again they said it was a valve and said they replaced that. Then it was another thing that had to do with emissions and they replaced that. Then of all things when the problem still persisted they said they would smoke the car. Well, they sent smoke through the car and took off the gas cap to show me the smoke coming out of there and said I wasn't putting the gas cap on right. That gas cap still doesn't stay on right and will be another expense I have to pay to replace it. After the laughable smoking of the car I took it to the Chevy dealer because obviously they were not going to fix the real problem. Almost 2 thousand dollars later I find out it was the fuel injectors that needed fixing. I had to replace the headlamp and the tire pressure monitor which I haven't paid for yet. They told me the start problems were normal for an old car. The only thing I can honestly say they fixed was the air conditioner. They charged me 3 thousand over the book value for the car as well. I should have known something was up when they kept going out to the car with the machine to clear codes from the computer 2 or 3 times. They told me they replaced the battery so they needed to check to see if the computer was right. John the owner said they would fix the car and they didn't. Said the car was owned by a mechanic they knew that traded that in and bought another truck from them. If that car was maintained by a mechanic then he is the worst mechanic around because the truck was not maintained. They did the inspection for me and passed the car with bald back tires and a light out in the front head light assembly. How it passed inspection was beyond me but I guess if the government is not looking what they don't know won't hurt them. I was told not to get tires until the fall. I cringed every time the back tires slid on dry pavement as well as wet and to boot the passenger side tire required filling with air every 3 days to keep it from going flat. While very nice this family owned business is full of lairs and cheats. Would they have been happy if I was their daughter or sister and was taken by a dealer like they took me... All I know is that if ever a next time comes up for me, I will go to a known reputable dealership and buy from them. At least when I bought my first used car from Chevy they took very good care of it and the car was pristine without problems. I waited about a year before reviewing my experience with JTL. I went there looking for a car, and the salesman approached me quite nicely. They let me test drive a car that I really wasn't sure that I wanted. I fell in love with the car. I mean a triple black 750li xdrive with 455 hp who wouldn't? Have had no issues, use the shop for maintenance. I happen to have good credit, and was preapproved prior to going in. John asked if he could perhaps help me get better rate and, naturally I said yes. I know it's in his best interest to finance himself, but got me a great deal. Whenever I go in with car everyone is extremely nice to me. It's to the point that I'm looking for a replacement to my old Pathfinder and, they are the only place I'll go to for a used car. I'm not one to write reviews but I felt it necessary to drop a PSA corroborating the deplorable reviews this place was getting. My experience would be laughable if there wasn't a risk that people could be wasting their hard-earned dollars on this rip-off of a used car dealer. Was interested in two of their trucks, and from the minute I set foot in their store I was getting jerked around. Sales people were not that bad, though it was obvious they knew little to nothing about their products by their complete silence while I was looking over the trucks. First truck had severe rot underneath to the point where it would fail a NYS inspection. Immediately went to the other truck and noticed a number of minor issues. This particular truck they were asking almost 2 grand above retail market value, which was already laughable given the problems it had at first glance. I was amused when one of the salesmen told me that they don't send the cars out for warranty repairs, but rather use their own guys who "don't necessarily have certifications - but they take care of you!" Requested that they put the car up on their lift so I could take a look underneath. Told me "no problem, come back first thing in the morning and it'll be waiting for you on the lift". Come back the next morning, and I'm made to wait about a half hour. Apparently the one dude in the whole shop who knows how to operate a lift was running late. Despite being introduced, the guy in charge kept referring to me as "the kid". He and the mechanics had quite a bit of attitude, and were quite irritated at the fact that I was asking questions about the problems I had spotted the day before. I especially loved the part where they finally got the truck in the air, and one of them pointed at me, snapped their finger, and said "you, let's go, I don't have time." Go underneath the truck, and spotted several issues that needed to be addressed. Again, was given an attitude but they emphasized that they would fix everything if I committed to purchase the truck. Fine, let's take it on a test drive. Another salesman accompanies me on the test drive, first thing he mentions is that brakes were done all around. Rear brakes were drum so I couldn't verify that, front brakes had fresh pads but the rotors needed to be replaced, I guess they couldn't be bothered to deal with that. Do a 50 to zero stop and low and behold the rear end is hopping -- either the rear drums were not adjusted or the brake hose was collapsing. Either way, these guys didn't test drive the truck after they did the brakes but were willing to allow a CUSTOMER to take it on a test drive. Major safety/liability issue. Deal-breaker was when I put the truck into 4wd and it failed to engage. Truck was sitting on the lot at least one week and nobody thought to function test the four wheel drive? Yet they are happy to emphasize the fact that it's 4wd on the ad. Go figure. What an embarrassment. Don't know what caused the 4wd to not engage but my ball-park estimate for the missing spare, non-operating tail-gate latch, broken driver seat rail, busted tie rod bushings, failing tensioner pulley, and front rotors alone would be about a grand and a half if you paid out of pocket at a local repair shop, yet these guys failed to bring any of that up and I had to find that all out by myself. Couldn't imagine what I overlooked, needless to say I took my business elsewhere. Buyer beware, VET THE DEALER BEFORE YOU BUY. read more

This place and their partner at dealer depot sold me a truck 2 and a half months ago. Didn't do the maintenance they said they would and gave me a wrong carfax report. According to the carfax attached to the vin the truck had no maintenance for 2 years and they sold me a "great truck". $4200 repair because they couldn't be bothered. When I picked the truck up it apparently had no antifreeze and was 4 quarts low on oil. There were leaking parts and I needed to do the break pads 2 days after I took the truck home. Bunch of crooks and very good at avoiding phone calls. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else read more

I bought a truck from dealer depot 4 months ago. The truck was sent here to get looked at before I picked it up. My block was rusty and flaking and they didn't do anything about that. They never did my oil change being my filter was rusted to the oil sending unit which was also leaking. The assholes didn't even out coolant in the truck. When calling them or dealer depot about this issue they won't return any more phone calls. The piece of shit warrantee company they give didn't even cover all of it leaving me paying more than the warrantee company 8 weeks after picking up the truck. The motor was done. How does someone sell a truck with a bad motor or not even look at the damn thing when inspecting it. The dmv will be my friend. Thanks assholes. AJ (Sales) and Erik (Manager) along with John (Finance) were amazing. I needed a car quick and had some financial issues. They worked with me and I was able to get a great vehicle at a price I never thought I could get. The Car is amazingly clean and runs like a dream. I bought a 2010 jeep liberty from dealer depot I had the car for 24 hour and while I was driving back to dealer depot because multiple lights came on the air bag - abs- esp lights came on and the car was making a loud noise in the front of the car before I could get the car back to dealer depot the back tier came off the car while I was driving the car the tire went rolling down the road. dealer depot sent my car to JTL auto repair were the damage to the car from the tire and the warring light. dealer depot did not repair the warring lights they told me there was nothing wrong. I had the car looked at by my mechanic and he stated that the car had electrical problems and dealer depot was not interested in fixing the problem I brought the car back to deal depot 4 times and it was not repaired. I had to make a complaint DMV - division of consumer protection- new your state of attorney general office to force dealer depot to take the car back of pay for the repairs that need to be done . dealer depot and jtl auto repair are owned by the same owner. I bought a 2001 Silverado in the summer (with 150,000 miles so I wasn't expecting perfection). I happened to be in the area and stopped in to see if they could refer me to a body shop that could fix the slight rust in the bedsides(very common on this model truck) the shop they referred me to was straightforward, had great prices and got me the truck back looking like new! aside from regular maintenance and two new tires this truck has been great! when im ready to upgrade ill be back!! read more

I bought a truck from here and have to say that I am very pleased. Rich, an older gentleman was my salesman and he was very honest and upfront from the start. He let me know that they do a soft credit run to see where they can get me the best deal PRIOR to running my credit. And that is what happened. My payments are below what I wanted. The interest is high as is the mileage, but this vehicle is to boost my credit and be reliable for a year or so. Honestly, the dealership is great and the employees are too. I am hoping to trade my truck in about 18 months for something new and I feel this was a good decision for me to make in coming here. They put on only a little over 3,000 miles & the timing chain completely snapped on their SUV which in turn seized their engine! Our nephew who has worked at Mavis tires for over 25 years said he's never heard of a timing chain breaking on ANY VEHICLE under 100,000 miles -- this SUV has less than 70,000 miles!!!! Our Son called the dealer & tried to get them to do the right thing & pay for the engine & they REFUSED to help them! JTL Auto wants to charge our Son $5,000 for a used engine! They still have another 4 years & 5 months left to pay their car loan with JTL! They can't afford to pay $5,000 for the engine! The owner & workers at this dealership have NO CONSCIENCE!!! JTL AUTO SALES SOLD ME A LEMON! On Sept 22 2018 I purchased a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer 114876 on the odometer.For 6 months all went well over maybe 1200 miles when I noticed the car listing to the right-$658 new strut assembly.Then the engine light began to go on-replaced the serpentine chain.Soon after engine began to misfire and stalling.Several small fixes by my very capable local mechanic kept me going till all hell broke loose in July.New fuel injectors,new coil and wiring -two tows and $1500 paid out.In the latest fiasco the car suddenly overheated stranding me and my two grandchildren.After another tow my mechanic called me with the bad news-cracked engine block.Worst of all it had been concealed with some kind of engine sealant!Carmine,the seemingly kind old gent who sold me this bomb,was not quite so kind this morning when I called him -calmly-and began to outline my problems.He cursed me out and hung up.BEWARE! All I can say is my buying experience last month at JTL Auto Sales was thoroughly enjoyable & painless. No sales pressure from the sales staff (Richard & Eric were fantastic), just knowledgeable about the cars, which certainly helped with the buying process. I was pleased with the price negotiations & they went out of their way to make sure any defects or mechanical repairs were done to my satisfaction...who does that? John, owner of JTL , couldn't have been nicer & more accomodating. He even went out of his way to find me a lower interest rate on my loan & after I had owned the car for a month, he arranged to fix a minor repair, not covered by the warranty, at no charge...who does that? This was the worst experience of buying a vehicle in my entire life well I never ever go back to this dealership again they completely lied to me and many issues with a vehicle I paid $8000 for a used truck and the air conditioner doesn't work I haven't put no more than 800 miles on the truck the head gasket blown molding fell off and window regulators were broken they fix some of the issues put a new air conditioner compressor and still didn't work blowing hot air brought back left the truck for 5 days for them to tell me they only took 1 hour to look into it couldn't find the problem and said they're not paying for anything additional also laid additional money out of my pocket for bearing hub that was $350 what should have been covered under their 90 day or 3000 mile warranty and now paying out of my pocket for the air condition to be fixed by my mechanic. I do not recommend this dealership to anybody and I would never refer or recommend this dealership to anyone save yourself the drama and your money. Find another dealership to go to. read more

My dad and I went looking around Selden for a certified pre-owned car dealership. We came across JTL Auto Sales Inc. The second we got there we found the perfect car, a 2011 Jeep Patriot with 63,000 miles. It had black leather interior, a sunroof, new sound system, touch screen radio and more. It looked like it was brand new, the condition was impeccable. This was my first car we were looking for, my dad wanted something safe and relatively newer so he wouldn't have to worry about something breaking down when I'm going to work or school. He also wanted an SUV not a car for safety. His price range was around $10,000 because he was planning on financing most of it. We went inside and they immediately treated us so respectfully and did not judge us at all or try to push anything on us. They sat us down and took down my dads information to get an estimate and they were closing in 30 minutes but still helped us just as if they opened 30 minutes ago. The monthly price was a little too high for my dad because it was listed at $13,500 but we knew that mini SUV was 'the one'. We told them what price we wanted monthly and they lowered the interest rate due to my dads good credit score and income and they knocked down the price to $12,500. I had my car by the next day, they gave me two JTL key chains and the car came with 2 spare keys. They also offer a free oil change and car wash with the car before you pick it up. After coming home I realized my check engine light was on, I brought it back and they fixed it for free in around an hour and the owner took it for a test drive and topped off the gas tank for me! You also get your first oil change free from them if you write an honest review on their website. I've had my car for 4 months and everything is doing great. They also give you cards to give to your friends with your name and address and if they come in and end up buying a car and give the card to them, you get $100 sent to you in the mail. Everyone there is so nice and I recommend this place to everyone! They have new cars in all the time and great deals! 10/10 suggest going there. read more

Just bought our second car from jtl in just over a year and these guys could not be more honest and helpful. We bought a bmw that had a check engine light come on and not only did john take care of it he put my wife into a loaner car so there would be little to no in inconvenience. And while taking care of the car he noticed it had a recall and took to to the dealer to get it done so we wouldn't be without our car another day. They have a stand up crew at jtl. When I purchased my wife's car the people that sold it to us where great! No complaints on that end. The service department is where the problem is. They told us if anything is wrong we have three months or 3000 miles and it will be fixed no problem. My wife took her car there to have a few minor things looked at that weren't working inside the car which I figured would be covered since it was less than 3 months. Instead of telling us over the phone that those specific things wouldn't be covered, they said bring it in. We left the car there all day. This guy from the service department calls us in the late afternoon giving my wife the nastiest attitude about the problems with the car trying to make her feel stupid. Basically saying they aren't covered. From what it seemed, they hadn't even looked at the car yet when he called after having it all day. We understand if it is not covered then it is not covered! But don't make us bring the car in and leave it all day and then tell us those things aren't covered. After my wife gave him an attitude back and got off the phone with him he did call back saying he fixed it for free and still was nasty. That is why I gave them 3 stars. read more
