Not only were they prompt with getting me out on time, the Service Adviser (Jaime D.) was cool as hell and knew his stuff about these trucks. I love the fact that they did not try to sell me on unnecessary repairs (Wipers for $50..Lol) and their communication during the service was actually impressive giving me updates on it as it progressed. I had a comprehensive ac evaluation at PepBoys in Lindenhurst a couple of days earlier, was told the Freon was full and they found no leaks but the "compressor did not engage". The ECV issue is common with that model and year. I decided to shop around as I have been looking for a competent and honest repair shop since my go to guy of 15 years sold his shop. Understandably Cosmos Auto wanted to confirm the issue before providing a price and told me to bring my car in for a free ac evaluation. Nice clean place and people pleasant. I waited in their comfortable waiting room for them to evaluate the ac. After a while a guy came out and told me I did not need an ECV valve or a compressor and they found no leaks but the "Freon was absolutely empty" contrary to what I was told at PepBoys. The cost with tax was approximately $250. They added, though they didn't think so, if there was a "minor undetectable" leak, a dye in the Freon would reveal this in a few months. I was excited to finally find a competent honest replacement auto shop. I told family, friends and work associates and had plans to bring my son in law' s car in for engine work and my nephew's car too. I drove my car to work the next morning about 12 miles, ac worked beautifully and it worked driving home too. The next morning I turned the ac on and it blew hot air even hotter than it did before the Freon fill up. I called Cosmos Auto and a woman told me that the dye in the Freon is to determine undetectable leaks in the ac. Since the ac lasted no more than 24 hours if it was leaking, it was not a minor leak requiring dye to detect it. This appears to be a tactic to force customers to come back to an auto shop for expensive ac repairs. Needless to say, my search for a competent, honest repair shop continues.

The original estimate went up significantly, and the car was delivered in awful condition and with complete disregard. It was dirty and dusty inside and out, the engine wasn't running properly and had to be fixed, the cooling system had air in it, and the hood wasn't aligned correctly. We only complained about the hood alignment, but Tom was well aware of all the other issues. We tried to work with him to get the hood aligned, and it was a nightmare. You feel like you're not welcome there, and even after a second attempt, we walked away with the hood still not aligned -- now we'll just deal with it ourselves. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone because of the carelessness, and I honestly regret trusting them.

This is a case of…read morehow "Russo Brothers" may take advantage of a customer during a vulnerable situation -- based on my personal experience and supporting facts. Russo Brothers performed body work on my garage-kept vehicle in 2007. About five years later, the paint began deteriorating -- it lost its gloss and started peeling. According to their website (russobrothers.com), they offer a lifetime paint performance guarantee for as long as the customer owns the vehicle. In 2025, I contacted them to request repairs under that guarantee. I was told it didn't apply to me because the company that did the work in 2007 -- "Russo Brothers Service Center" -- had been dissolved, and the current company -- "Russo Brothers Auto Collision Center" -- was created around 2015. The front desk and management insisted these were entirely different companies. However, both their Google Business profile linked website and Carwise.com listing advertise they are family-owned and operated since 1956. Google Street View also shows the same business sign and branding used before and after the alleged company change. Additionally, the business has remained at the same address and has had the same phone number since the time they worked on my car in 2007. I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but my personal experience with their warranty and customer service raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability. I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about their guarantees and company history before trusting them with your vehicle.

The only reason I'm knocking off one star is that communication can be a little slow on busy days--it took them a bit longer than expected to call me back with the initial estimate.
