The tamales were pretty small and had little to them on the inside. Also, the masa had a weird after taste.

Hm, not bad, this food truck of all things sausage…read more Each sausage is 1/3 lb, and is made by a local butcher according to The Sausage Syndicate's specific specifications. Ha, try saying that 7 times fast. During a recent food truck feast, one of my friends got the Wiseguy, which is spicy pork sausage with grilled onions, sweet peppers, and house made peach thyme mustard accompanied by a side (spicy potato salad, in his case). He ate most of the Wiseguy before turning over the rest of the sausage and most of the potato salad to me. What can I say, I'm a cannibalistic pig. The pork sausage was pretty decent, but that's basically it. The grilled onions and sweet peppers were limp and oily. There was some zing to the mustard, which was unique, but unfortunately, the bread could also have been better. It wasn't as crisp and tasty as I had hoped. Even the sausage and mustard couldn't have made the rest of the meal shine. The potato salad was pretty disappointing also; it was really bland without much taste. For $8.50, I was hoping for much better...but maybe I'll give it another try...all on my own another time. And yes, they do take Square.

This was my first foray in the St. Louis food truck scene, which I must say is an awesome…read moredevelopment. Way to put the city on the map, guys. The Sausage Syndicate did the trick: the food was good, service was fast, and the staff was friendly. They get three stars for two reasons: 1) $8.50 is just too much for a sausage and chips. Throw in a drink and I'll get behind it. 2) Sausage is heavy (i'm pretty full), but for the price I wanted more toppings, or more chips, or something. I got the Wiseguy, which is apparently the crowd favorite, and it was really good, but could have been so much more. The peppers and onions are a nice touch, but what you get looks like something you could make at home. Also, maybe I'm missing something, but the peach thyme mustard just tasted like mustard to me. The chips are deeelicious. And honestly it was a good sausage. With some tweaks this food truck will be where it's at.

I was invited to get a meal from the Cha Cha Chow food truck as part of a volunteer appreciation…read moreevent with the St Louis Area Foodback. The truck was parked in their lot and had created a specific limited menu for the event. I chose to get 2 tacos and a side - The Yadi chicken taco and the Fish taco (they said it's their top seller!) with a side of street corn in a cup. The employees were fast, friendly and helpful and the food was up in a flash! I'm glad they told me about the fish taco because I would not have ordered that and ended up loving it! DELICIOUS! All of the food was good. Only thing I would say is that there was A LOT of sauce on the tacos and it overpowered the other ingredients a bit - and I'm usually a big sauce person. I'm not sure what pricing is normally like as there wasn't pricing on the menu that day, but I'd def splurge to eat here if I saw them around again :)

They had more of smoky flavor. Boyfriend got the meat tacos and really liked them. They were juicy and well seasoned. The fiesta corn was good. Portion was quite small though. Food truck service was quick and the food was hot. We didn't have cash but I liked that if you paid with cash, the food was tax free.
