0 Stars. Negative Stars. I am a repeat customer.
Pros: They have stellar birria and seafood tacos. My favorite shrimp tacos.
But, no more for me. I slept on it, and I feel absolutely compelled to write in about my poor experience yesterday.
//I got a yelp account just to post how bad my experience was.//
Their business hours on yelp vs Google vs posted on their front door are different.
1st Issue: Posted opening hours on their door says Open 11am every day.
I came specifically for breakfast tacos, which I missed on a previous day and the manager told me is only Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Ok. I can manage that.
I went yesterday, parked 10:58am, first spot by the door, waiting for it to be 11am to get breakfast. An employee is unlocking the locked patio furniture outside, which I assumed was opening duties. Everything seemed normal... but apparently, once again, I'm wrong. I walk in and they tell me breakfast is over, it's only from 9a-11a. I mentioned the door hours are wrong and a lady employee tells me ya they told the manager and may work on changing it. The response didn't instill confidence, but the female employee was nice enough to explain and was cheerful and attentive.
After the female employee discusses with the male employee, they decide that they will make 1 exception for me and make breakfast for me this one time. Ok, great.
2nd issue- I ordered 3 tacos, they input 2. Ok, fine. This is probably my fault on not communicating very well, but again, I have not ordered breakfast here before and I didn't know you have to order in sets of 2. Never heard of this before. Again, I can live. Their tacos are decently big, I can survive. I got 2 breakfast tacos on corn tortillas, as I have a gluten intolerance. I got the receipt. It says corn on the receipt, perfect.
One other note: After ordering the male employee says their breakfast tacos come with cheese and sour cream, is that ok? I said no sour cream, but cheese is fine. Sour cream on breakfast tacos????? This. Is. Unhinged.
I'm SO glad he disclosed this. This is not listed as an ingredient on the menu. Why. Why.
3rd issue- The cook makes my order as a breakfast burrito. The female employee thankfully notices this before giving the food to me and asks and confirms that I want tacos instead. I say Yes, I want them as tacos, no problem. They do not offer me the food. She sends it back and they remake the order. The cook put the bag with the burrito on the back counter.
4th issue- The order comes out and I am running now late for my Saturday gigs, but I figure the tacos are in foil and the heat will keep them hot, so I'll eat later.
5th issue- I see the cook open the breakfast burrito, add salsa and decide to eat it. Why is this happening in view of customers??
I drive off without checking the order trusting that the remake is correct (definitely my fault). I'm about a mile away at a stoplight and I open the box. The tacos are on flour tortillas. I cannot eat this. I debate to myself since I'm already late if I should drive back. I decide, there's so many issues so far, surely they will make this right, again, apologize, and attempt to make it right proverbially.
I was wrong. Again. They do not.
I pull up and bring in the food. I did not take 1 bite. The food is intact as it was given to me. I return the tacos and explain I need them on corn tortilla as this is how I ordered them. Both the male and female employee go to the point of sale system computer and check the order. It says corn tortilla. They show the cook the food and explain what it needs to be multiple times for this 2nd remake. I asked if I could get a free drink. I do not receive a response. They don't tell me how long it will be.
6th issue (why am I still counting)- They do not apologize. I'm standing there awkwardly so I decide to sit down and wait.
Very quickly the male employee brings me the remade tacos with salsa on the side and napkins in a bag, and says "here you go" very flatly. They clearly want me out the door. The female employee is behind the counter and no longer smiling. I check the tacos. The order, although correct, no longer appears appetizing because I have a knot in my stomach about how they treated me.
7th issue- Although minor, it is noticeable the amount of food disparity between if you order flour tortilla tacos or corn tortilla tacos. There was much more volume/filling for the flour tortillas, I can only assume as because the flour tortillas themselves are larger, so to appear fuller, flour tortillas get more filling to appear proportionally filled. If my order had been made the right way the first time I would not have known about this corn tortilla bias.
Please do better.
I never yelled. I never raised my voice. I never disturbed other customers. I never asked for a refund. I had tipped 20%.
So..... needless to say, I will not be back. read more
