I'm so under the weather so my mom bought dinner. We decided on Juan Pollo. We wanted to phone in the order to pick up but when we called she said just come in so it would be fresh. We ordered the two whole chicken family meal with beans, double potato salad, corn & flour tortillas, and mild and hot salsa. The wait time wasn't long and the food was hot and fresh. The chicken is always tender and the skin if full of flavor. Hands down, they have the best potato salad. It tastes homemade and is not super mayo-e. The beans are creamy and I didn't think they were lacking salt but bae did. I prefer the hot salsa over mild but some may not like it because it has big chunks of jalapeño and carrots. The food is priced fairly, tasty and is filling. The store front is easy to access and the staff are very helpful and friendly and orders can be made in advance. The chicken itself is savory and works well with the sides to include rice, beans and potato salad. While they're a great alternative to pollo loco and do well in the core areas of sides and chicken, they lack in the specialty items, particularly the burrito. The chicken burrito I ordered had what seemed to be finely chopped chicken and with little to no fat or moisture in the chicken, the burrito was a dry, crumbly mess. The other ingredients worked well but were overwhelmed by the amount of dry chicken. The salsa in the burrito also lacked flavor and failed to compliment the dish as a whole. Normally we buy trays of potato salad and we have never been disappointed but last Saturday we ordered a tray and it was, by far, the worse potato salad !! We would have been better off getting store bought! Not sure why they were lacking on Saturday but we will not buy trays from this location any longer. Had to make an unexpected stop here on Thanksgiving and and I must say, that I was quite impressed with the service. The line was starting to hanging outside the door, right before I left. Service was fast and all the employees worked together, to get the customers out, with I ridiculously long wait time. I've never had an issue with this place until last time I came. They messed with the potato salad and that's a no-no. Other locations are not consistent with the potato salad and this location always has been until last time. Employees can be a lot more friendly. Everything here is bomb. The chicken, potato salad (when done right), rice, beans, salsa and tortillas. I have ordered food from here many times for catering, great prices and lots of grub. Decided to come here for din din today and it was bomb. Everything was on point. I always get the Family meal that comes with three whole chickens and the XL sides. Juan Pollo is a great place for carry out rotisserie chicken. We get some each time I visit the Inland Empire for family gatherings. The chicken is flavorful with a nice finish on the outside & moist on the inside. The family size meal includes two chickens, and large sides of beans, potato salad, and rice, as well as tortillas and pico de gallo sauces. The beans are tasty, and not too thick. The white/yellow rice is fantastically flavored with chicken, and the potato salad is wonderful. The pico de gallo sauce was super, with peppers and carrots. I prefer the spicy. I had the horchata, an amazing beverage of rice, almond, and cinnamon. The service was prompt. No, not just prompt, it was lightning fast! The staff was smiling, friendly and polite. Anyone giving more than a single star for this location is not a truthful person. I typically won't trash a location but this Juan Pollo is not like the others. My chicken bowl was HEINOUSLY bad. The chicken, if it can be called that, was dried carcass pieces (with the vertebrae and broken rib bones embedded); NOT the shredded chicken I'm accustomed to receiving at other locations. It was like chicken chicharrones thrown atop a mound of week-old rice with a small dollop of three-day old beans. I won't even discuss the tortillas that couldn't be peeled apart and cracked like uncooked dough when I tried to use them. When I brought it back to the counter, they initially looked at me and shrugged as if nothing was wrong. Finally, a partial refund was offered after I declined a re-do. Take a few minutes and find a different Juan Pollo to enjoy. The Fontana location has amazing service, with smiles, and will not keep you waiting for your freshly cooked and prepared food. read more

To start off I would give this place a -0. I have been coming here for year because the place is very clean and tidy. So this week I come in for lunch and order a quarter chicken with 2 sides. I left and took my lunch home only to open a box with bones in it that apparently someone else had been eating. This is so freaking groce. I have never seen, nor experienced anything like this. Imagine opening a box of food to see bones where it has been eaten already. I went back up there and I didn't cause a scene, (maybe I should have) and a really nice worker gave me another plate of food (which I ended up not eating). I sent a customer complaint to the Corporate Office to advise what is going on at there business. We are in a n era of covid and other diseases going around number 1, number 2 why are employees eating in the open where food is being prepared? I talk to a person in charge for the Bloomington location and she wants to give me a coupon for a replacement meal, i don't think so but you have definitely lost a great customer.
