Everything was good as usual and portions of salad and rice were very generous. I usually get the other lunch special but it's like half a chicken and it's way to much food. I found a healthier alternative for my parents who couldn't do without their KFC every week. I believe their original concept of whole roasted chicken is really what they do best. I don't get their tacos, burritos or quesadillas because I don't think it's their strength. What's good is their roasted whole chickens, hot salsa, rice and their fifteen thousand calorie potato salad. If I buy for myself I get the 2 piece chicken lunch special with 2 breast pieces, corn tortillas and get Jamaica (Hibiscus flower tea) to drink. I only eat 1 breast piece and the 2nd I wrap up to take home. I generally get two meals out of the lunch. When I buy for my parents I get them the 2 whole chicken meals which come with salsa and a couple of sides. They like the pinto beans and potato salad. As I mentioned earlier the potato salad is rich, dense and has to be loaded with calories. My parents seem to love it. It's a little too much for me. I never eat in at any of the locations because I'm always on the go and the table seating is not real comfortable. If you stick with what they do well you shouldn't be disappointed. ZERO STARS!! I ordered a CHICKEN quesadilla and was brought a small microwaved CHEESE quesadilla. No problem, I let them know and the man fixed it. However, when I got the CHICKEN quesadilla it was very small- two small flour tortillas, one on top of the other, and microwaved!!It looked terrible- nothing like the delicious quesadilla's that are crispy, off the grill! It was soft and blah looking, and barely any cheese!! So I refused it, and asked for my money back. The manager offered to swap out the food but why would I want a more food with bugs in it. So disappointed as I've always had them cater in the past. Came here and ordered a family pack for my family (of 5) and let me tell you .. it was filling and satisfying!! Chicken was delicious and we got rice, beans, and potato salad as our sides which were made with LOVE. Everything was delicious! We had a lot of leftovers so i believe that the family pack is meant for 6-7 people. Definitely recommend this place for a family meal or just a lunch break meal. read more

I'll admit this is the only Juan Pollo I've been to personally but I can each time I've come here it has been excellent! If you like cheap eats and eating healthy, they do a great job of both here. I love their whole chikens and their rice is just awesome! Food is good, I try to support local businesses. I am VERY VERY disappointed and won't come back. I will go out of my way to another Juan Pollo to spend my "business lunch daily budget". I accidentally used my personal credit vs business credit card and charged $90. I asked for the transaction to be VOIDED and recharged. The store informed me they do not have authorization to could a transaction. Mistakes happen all the time, this is not acceptable. Let me start off by saying.. I love Juan Pollo! I eat at the one near Santa Fe Springs all the time. However.. just went to the one in Colton... we called ahead to make an order for 6 people. He said they couldn't do that over the phone because they close in an hour. Whatever, no big deal. But he said don't worry because they had plenty of chicken left. We showed up less than 10 minutes later and there was a decent line. And they told the person up front they were about to run out of chicken. Because of that a few people in front of us left and luckily we were able to get just the right amount for us. But the guy behind us who also called ahead and they promised him over the phone that they had enough as well. So because of them he made a wasted trip. We asked for plates and they only gave us 4. We asked for 2 more and they got attitude and said "Mam, you cannot have six plates". Quite rudely. We bought the family meal, so I guess you're only allowed to have a family of four at the Colton Juan Pollo. Oh.. I almost forgot. They messed up the order 2 people in front of us. I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter upon entering, then helped quickly and politely (when it was my turn). My food was ready quickly. The food itself is so flavorful and different. This is the worst Juan pollo. every time I call to order ahead they say they're not taking phone orders or there's no one in just walk in and then I come in and have to wait because they never have rice ready Or there's 6 people waiting. Even now In quarantine they don't take phone orders and we all stand around in here waiting. They tell you twenty minutes wait and it turns to 40. There good at other locations But this particular location has a smoker on staff and somehow cigarette ashes seeps in to the beans and rice. I handed my food to the kitchen staff and sat down. When the food was laid out to eat I and everyone else saw dried chicken. It was clearly not fresh, left over from the day before. I went back to speak with the server, he said he remembered me and asked me how long did I have the chicken in the car! I did not drive to New York! just 11 minutes to Riverside by freeway.
