We are driving from Palm Springs to Las Vegas and decided to make a quick stop to get sandwiches, we didn't want anything heavy and sandwiches are usually easy on our bellies So quick wasn't an adjective I'd use, but they are fully aware and seem to knowledge it does take a long time-because they cleverly don't rush their product. They make it with love 100%. You could see and taste the care they put into the food-so if you're trying to go in then out, it's not gonna happen, but if you can order ahead-I'd totally recommend that as well. The owner recommended next time to order ahead of time if we are on a time crunch (we wouldn't really be but we had a late start and were going to end up in Vegas about midnight...so i def don't regret going-but like the owner said-ordering ahead of time would had been the move!! . But honestly, when we are back in the area I'll ABSOLUTELY come back-and on our way home-i might just have the hub bring us back through! He had a pastrami and i had a roast beef. Went with sourdough due to yelp reviews- i chose toasted sourdough only, but they will do cold/toasted bread/toasted bread and cheese and fully toasted. It's like how that one sandwich place was-but actually good!! (I can't remember what they were called lol) Anyway, 100% recommend. The 6 inch was a good size for each of us, I'm always down for leftover sandwiches tho. So I'd get the bigger one if i had a fridge to put it in for later!! We've been so SoCal Subs before and really enjoyed it. So on Father's Day that's what we wanted for lunch. For a Sunday afternoon they weren't very busy, there was only one other party of 2 in front of us. We ordered two 6 inch sandwiches. 20 minutes later we were still waiting for our order. When asked how much longer the lady working said it would be done soon. 5 minutes later we were still waiting and so was the people who ordered before us. Didn't want to waste my whole afternoon waiting for a couple sandwiches so we canceled our order and asked for a refund. So the owner was very nice or least the manager worked there very welcoming and gave us a tour of the menu of sandwiches. Being from Philadelphia I scrutinize sandwiches in California very very harshly. There's not many good Italian hoagie places around. This is what I didn't like. I did not like the cheeses that you could select for an Italian sandwich or shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Italian sandwiches there should be at least a provolone option for that, but they should not be shredded. The size of the sandwich was massive was very good. The other thing I didn't like. Also, was the mayonnaise built into the Italian sandwich. I had to have them take it out. You never never put mayonnaise on in Italian hoagie or sub. Only oil and vinegar. The meat is too rich to have mayo.Mayonnaise is for turkey and dry white meats or tunafish. I'm giving it a four because I don't wanna be mean but the quality of the bread was good. So I'm new to the area and have been looking for more mom and pop shops to eat at. I was recommended this place and told forget Subway. So I finally gave it a shot. Walked in and was greeted right away! I explained how we never been there but wanted to try. The guy that was there was super helpful explaining the ordering and giving his recommendation. You order on a kiosk and every sub listed has a picture of what it is NO guessing at all. We ordered two footlongs and waited maybe 10 minutes or less. Got our food and drove home. Sandwich was a true 12" inches!! Great flavor and not dry or soggy. We ordered the tuna toasted and I could actually bite the bread it was warm but not a rock. Every bite had flavor and nothing was left out, you can actually taste the avocado. I ordered the Ham Turkey add Bacon cold. The sandwich was perfect amount of meat and toppings not dry delicious and I had to cut it in half again because it was too much. Personally this is the best sub I have ever eaten. My first time coming in the staff were super helpful and friendly. I was taking their recommendations and added the sourdough- best thing ever. Inside you order on the kiosks which is nice, for those who may not particularly like using the kiosk they have very helpful and actually stand by your side if you're having trouble deciding what delicious sub to try! The walls are decorated well, with booths and tables inside so eating in is no problem. I recommend you try any of their oven baked subs with the sourdough, and add the garlic butter if wanted. The pictures do not do this place justice. I got a 12" sub and should've gotten a 6" sub. SO GOOD! The sandwiches are huge and the bread is fresh. Each sandwich has "the essentials" but you can opt out of anything you want. The space has some little booths and tables with chairs for dining in, and there is an outside table too. Service was great, but not in the way you'd think; there are kiosks to order at. It was my first time going here (not my last) but a nice employee walked me through how to use the kiosk which was simple but I had to use a paper menu to see the descriptions of what was on each sub. Great place. Guys are willing to assist you with any questions with the menu and with ordering. Especially with ordering it's all electronic no cash only card. You order from a tablet and there's a card reader there as well. I ordered the pastrami and the pastrami was great. I just wish there was a little bit more pastrami in it but still good. I also ordered the sourdough bread toasted, and it was nice and soft and crunchy. While I was ordering a customer yelled out get the sourdough toasted, so I did. Found the perfect sandwich shop for my sandwich cravings!!! I had recently been craving a deli sandwich or just a good sandwich overall and I stumbled upon this place and decided to go here when I saw the reviews. The restaurant is super cute it has pretty good seating and all the ordering is done at the self order kiosk. Even though the ordering is done on a kiosk both guys that were working there were sooo helpful, they explained how to use the kiosk and they checked in with us when we ordering just to make sure we didn't need any help. I got the 6 inch high desert sub and omg I'm still thinking about that sub hours later, it was perfection. I got it with the crispy sourdough and I ordered it toasted completely (there's an option to just heat the meat). The sandwich was stuffed with veggies and had so much yummy ranch, the chicken was seasoned to perfection too; the banana peppers added the perfect crunch and the perfect acidity to balance the sandwich out. I fell in love with this sub lol, and the 6 inch was definitely enough to fill me up. I got the small combo which comes with a small drink, chips, and cookies; it's honestly a great deal. Their cookies are baked in house daily and their red velvet was just perfect! Wanted to wait at least a month before writing this review. Main reason is because I wanted to see how they were throughout the week and time. I can say wholeheartedly that they are consistently good anytime of the day and week. There subs are 10x better than any mainstream sandwich place. The portions are crazy big and the bread is so fresh and good. If you are grabbing a sandwich there grab the don with sourdough bread. I have this thing about sub sandwich shops always having hard bread that cuts my mouth, that being said, I have lived in Grand Terrace since 2013 and 2 weeks ago was the first time I have been to SoCal Subs to try it out. I have been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks. EVERY sandwich I have had or shared with my family has been DELICIOUS! The service is great! They greet everyone that walks in and offer help to them with placing an order with the kiosk. I've had the chicken bacon ranch sub, the bbq chicken sub, the salami sub, and today the teriyaki chicken sub. ALL WERE GREAT! My husband and I found this spot on Yelp while in the area and stopped by for lunch today. I was impressed with the ordering system which made it easy and efficient for the customer to be able to customize their sandwich and order. The gentleman up front was extremely helpful and made some great recommendations for us. I wish I got his name, he was great and friendly! We ordered three different sandwiches of which were recommended by him and every single one hit the spot! We got them to go to have with family at home, we had a bit of a drive home so they weren't as hot but man they were still delicious regardless! I can't imagine had we had them there right away. The Italian supreme was full of flavor and meats. I'm from New York and a good Italian sub is rare in California but SoCal subs nailed it. Whoever's bright idea was it to completely forgo actual ppl taking orders and not being able to fully customize sandwiches anymore isn't very bright. I really LIKED (past tense) this place and since they moved to app only I haven't had a chance to try it yet... until tonight. Not only was the app confusing they don't even let you customize. (Confusing because you have to GO BACK and make it a combo instead, unlike EVERY other ff app it gives you the option right then and there). I know it's been less than year since I been there. I know I was there last year a couple of times and the guy working there said they haven't put provolone on the SoCal in 3 years. Mmm no? I've always been able to get provolone. Just the fact they spewing out bs and took away customizing is enough for me to not be loyal anymore. Not every one likes mozzarella on their sandwiches and some of us like hollowed bread, THANK YOU JIMMY JOHN'S. I'm going to assume since they made all these changes, albeit to "modern" and "keep up with the times" that they are no longer bang for your buck and the quality MIGHT have gone down.
