Ah, well maybe that sauce isn't "famous." Several very delicious things we found at Juanita's. The first is the meat she uses. Perfectly seasoned shredded chicken and ground beef filled the chimichangas. And they were full! Great taste. Not bland at all. Next, the red salsa that you have to ask for. The salsa that comes out with the chips is good, but ask for the hotter salsas and you will get a green salsa and a different red salsa. The green salsa is the tomatillo and jalapeno. The different red salsa has a prominent, fresh, lime, cilantro, onion flavor, with red chili flakes, blended with tomato sauce and typical Mexican seasonings. It was an absolute match for the chimichangas with the "famous sauce." And, lastly was the "famous sauce." Juanita's description of her chimichangas ends with "and topped with our famous sauce." That got my interest. I asked the waitress what it was? She seems puzzled, so I pointed at the description on the menu. Her response, "I didn't even know the menu said that." Me," So much for famous." We both got a laugh out of that. Okay, the "famous sauce" is queso that comes on the side for the chimichangas. It may not be famous, but it is excellent! Overall, very good food, at a bargain!!! Right now, many of the Daily Lunch Specials are $6.99. So, for a $20 bill and nickel two people can eat a great Mexican food lunch at a steal of a price. So my hubby has wanted to bike to Jaunitas for months now and we finally did it. So it is definitely a hole in the wall place but it is painted lime green so easy to spot. The chips and salsa were a great start I really liked the salsa. My husband got the burrito but I wanted something lighter so got the ceviche. I have never had a ceviche that's marinated in a tomato sauce. I was not a fan. It tasted like it was covered with ketchup. The burrito was legit and delicious. The fried ice cream was a good finish though. So will definitely go again but changing up the order next time. read more

This is a little small town hidden gem! We happen to live in the small town, and get to enjoy Juanita's often! I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa, if the have bad salsa I only order tacos, I mean they are the easiest. Juanita's has great salsa and the chips are always fresh! I've had several different things from the menu. I tried the shrimp rolls the first several times I went in here, then I ventured to the ceviche, it was very good if you want something cold on a hot day. I've had the enchiladas, street tacos, and the tamales. They are all really good! The queso is a little thicker than I've been used to, but still good. I would recommend anyone try this place out. It's right around the corner from the fueling station used in the Outsiders movie. They have a Facebook page and keep it updated daily with specials and if they have to close. This little family restaurant is so worth a drive from Tulsa. It isn't fancy just extra good. Everyone I've taken there has raved. Besides what I order!for my meal, I always take home a side of ceviche (chunks of shrimp and avocado with some tomato and other tasty ingredients) and a white cheese queso. It includes a big bag of chips and 3 tostados for the ceviche. To die for!! Juanita's is right by the Rexall drug store filmed in The Outsiders so if you're doing that tour you will be doing yourself a disservice if you don't go to Juanita's!! read more

Good Mexican Food and very friendly service. Atmosphere needs some help, but if you want good Mexican food, you can't beat this place.

It might be small in a small community but it's BIG in flavor, hospitality & cleanliness. Their food is extremely tasty! Her charro beans are the best I've ever ate! The chorizo she puts in them is delicious. Her tamales are good too! I could sit here all night & post her menu & each item being good but it's easier for me to just say, ALL THE ITEMS ON THE MENU ARE AWESOME! Located in Sperry right outside of Skiatook it is well worth the short drive . Nice, quaint out of the way ambiance. We enjoy having our meals there. This place is so good. My husband got the carnitas best in Oklahoma. I got the chimichanga, so good. Queso was on point. And my daughter got the Juanita's Fried chicken and it was out of this world good. Must go!!! Soon it will be 5 stars as soon as the get there liquor license so we can have a margarita read more

We didn't know about Juanita's. How did we miss hearing about it? The ceviche is served differently than in most restaurants, and it is delicious! My carne asada was cooked perfectly. Even the rice tasted better than most places. We're looking forward to trying a lot more dishes Our server was informative, had a fantastic personality, and did everything possible to ensure that our meal was perfect. The portions are large and seasoned just right. Next time I'll have to leave room for the fried ice cream! We will return soon! read more

Very authentic Mexican food, how do I know because I lived in Mexico for three years. I asked if they would make me some, rancheros shrimp, and I was definitely surprised just how delicious! This place is a gem for Sperry, Ok ! You have got to try the fried chicken it's hand battered and served with some awesome fries. I know your not supposed to get chicken at a Mexican place but my kid is picky. I got the Carnitas and . When this restaurant first opened both the food and the service were good. As time has passed the quality of the food has gone down a bit. However, the service has all but crashed and burned. Because of Covid, I generally call in my order for curbside pickup. The food was always ready when I arrived. Recently that has not been the case. After notifying of my arrival, I waited 30 minutes before I got out and went inside the restaurant, where I found my order sitting on the counter. I questioned the young lady at the register. She verified it was my order. I asked why it hadn't been brought out. Her answer was that she was busy. There were at least 4 people standing around and there were no customers in the restaurant. Needless to say, the food was seriously cold and not fit to eat. I feel bad for the owners because an employee with a bad attitude and no respect for the customers can destroy a business. read more
