    Mole tamale

A great post hike place to stop by for refreshing aguas frescas and mexican food. Tacos are a decent size and come topped with a tasty green sauce. Mole tamale was super delicious with the perfect smoky chocolatey mole flavor. Would definitely stop by again when in the area!

This was legitimately THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. It's extremely authentic, and the workers were helpful and kind. It's a place that feels like home when you walk in.

Great little Mexican restaurant right on the outskirts of Cold Spring. Quick service and friendly staff. You can customize if you want to exclude toppings from your burrito. They were also nice enough to add more rice instead. Once finished with your meal you pay at the cash register. Next time I'll take advantage of hiking in the area then dining here.

After 3 hours of hiking and natural rock climbing we need it fuel for the body. My friend suggested Juanita's and im glad we listened. Homey small Mexican restaurant. My friend got the picadillo bowl and said it was delicious will definitely try next time. I got a salad as currently doing a nutrition challenge that makes challenging to eat out but they were accommodating to my restrictions and made me a delicious salad. My sister ordered the soft tacos, a steak and a chicken tacos. She gave it 8/10. The fridge was down when we went and after hiking I was looking forward a cold ice drink so was super bummed out when had to drink room temp water. Authentic Mexican food with awesome customer service.

The food was great. Especially after a full day of hiking! Family owned. Very friendly and clean.

I had gotten a gift card to Juanita's kitchen for the holidays so I decided to use it one night for dinner. They have a small parking lot or street parking. I walked right in to a festive, looking seating area and a friendly cashier. I ordered a burrito, a cheese, quesadilla an empanada and the box of tacos for dinner (with a mix of chicken, steak and chorizo). Everything was very tasty. It did take a while to receive the food after ordering. I would attribute it to everything being extremely fresh and made to order.

Cute spot with great food and reasonable prices. Located by the trailheads of Nelsonville and Undercliff. After 4 hours of hiking, this was the perfect reward. We ordered the steak bowl (~$15), steak burrito(~$12), jalapeño and cheese tamale, and tres leches. Portions of the bowl and burrito were pretty big and very good. The tamale was a little spicy and very tasty. The tres leches texture reminded me of corn bread. It was moist and not too sweet so I kept going back for more. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

    Empanadas. One beef one chicken.

Can be pricey depending on what you get. Found this place after doing a quick search looking for places near a hiking spot. I ordered 2 empanadas (one chicken, one beef, there's cheese too). Both were delicious and came with a green salsa and red sauce. The green salsa was fantastic and the red was spicy, a little too much for me but my friends liked it. Empanadas were a decent size, hot, fresh, and crisp on the outside. I also got a tamale filled with chicken and green salsa. It's served in a corn husk and was also delicious and smooth. I added a little extra green salsa as I ate. All 3 items were $5 each and then I had a mango soda as well. Came out to a little over $17. They have a single, neutral bathroom and a parking lot. Maybe 6 tables inside and a couple tables of outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.

It's a really big space with lots of seating both at the bar and tables. There was music playing and the vibe was lively but not too loud. Service was really quick! Felt like our food order came out in like 5-10 mins tops and everything came out hot and fresh. Our server was Adrian Q. and he was friendly and knowledgeable of menu items. Adrian gave us a complimentary drink at the end- warm red wine. And no I don't mean room temperature, I mean actually heated with steam coming out. It was at first because I've never heard of that but it actually wasn't bad and was kind of like a palate cleanser. Drinks: We both opted for the large coyote-rita with don julio for $34.50. I had the passion fruit and she had the tamarind. Both flavors were really good and I was surprised that the tamarind was not overly sweet. The drinks packed a good punch so I would say it's worth the price. Food: we started with the calamares frito, Yuka fritas, and alitas de pollo. The yuka fritas were really good, the calamari was ok, seems like it was frozen but the sauces that came with it were amazing, especially the green sauce, and the wings were good but nothing special. For entrees, I had the quesadilla de camarones and she had the enchiladas. The quesadilla was amazing! Loved every bit of it. It had pieces of shrimp inside as well as whole shrimps on the top in a creamy sauce. It also came with rice and beans which were also good. My friend enjoyed her enchiladas. It's her favorite thing there. This place is very far from (like 2 hours) but would def visit again when I'm in the area.

We chatted with a couple of store owners, and they all recommended Riverview as the place to eat. We had already made reservations there weeks before. We loved the town and enjoyed the afternoon; we highly recommend spending a sunny summer or fall day there. Now about the restaurant. We were given a very good table in a private corner so that we could talk freely without disruption. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We never felt rushed. The ambiance is not the feature here, but there are nice river views and outdoor dining. We sat inside. The food was very good, even if not what I consider haute cuisine. For the first course, I had the watermelon and feta salad; it was nice and refreshing, even if the watermelon was a bit old. For the main course, I had a pork chop with a potato croquette, and my wife had the fish. We both enjoyed our dinners. We finished with two desserts: bread pudding and a Peach melba. Overall, I recommend the Riverview and will probably be back the next time we visit. If you do stop in, say hello to the bartender, Shauan-Michel.

They didn't ask how I'd like the burger cooked, and the patty was cooked to a standard doneness. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was hearty, satisfying, and definitely filling. Nothing beats an ice-cold beer after a hike. Compared to Manhattan, the prices were very reasonable, making the meal feel like a great value. One of the best parts is the location right next to the railroad tracks--you can enjoy your meal while watching the trains pass by, which gives the place a unique charm. If it's your first time visiting Cold Spring, I'd recommend starting your trip here.

There's some parking in front of the restaurant but good luck finding an open spot! We requested a high chair for our kiddo. The first one was broken and the replacement had a ripped safety strap. Unfortunately, they didn't have any others available. The unique thing about this restaurant is that it's right next to the train tracks. At first it was really cool watching the trains go by, especially for the kids. But they came by much more often than we expected and the novelty wore off pretty quickly. The trains are literally less than 10 feet from some of the tables. Not necessarily a negative, just something to know since it definitely shapes the dining experience. They do have a kids menu. We originally wanted to try the Chicken Tinga Egg Rolls but they were sold out that day. The fish and chips were good and the portions were huge. The fried calamari was also pretty good. The Double Double Burger was just an average cheeseburger. It was fine but definitely overpriced for what it was. We also ordered some kind of garlic bread that I couldn't find again on the online menus. It was toast with garlic, cheese, and some kind of jam spread. I really didn't like it. Service ranged from okay to almost absent. It was a holiday weekend and our waitress seemed to be covering a lot of tables so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Everything here was pretty expensive which made some of the misses harder to overlook. Overall, the train side location makes for a unique experience, especially if you have young kids who like trains. The food was decent overall but considering the prices, I expected a little more. 3.5 rounded down.

Shellfish soup, honestly my favorite part and one i told my server it's best I had anywhere and my reasoning, usually seafood soups don't put enough seafood and so cheap and like just broth with like 4 pieces, but no there soup has so much eat spoonful had seafood on it and the broth it's self was incredibly rich and flavorful. Now main entree, camarones a la ranchera, rice was alright and was great with broth/sauce. Refried beans with grilled cheese on top, good, not much else other then they got a good grill on cheese I liked. For the shrimp and sauce, this where like the soup I wish similar had more shrimp, since shrimp was cooked so well, and not over cooked where shrinks to nothing and was so tender, sauce was great, not much to say other then trying to drink it. The mixed veggies, nicely stewed and seasoned. A great first visit here and I will have get more soup for sure.

After eating there, I can confidently say Doug, your pub makes pretty good food. Our party of four was seated at a high-top, and the feasting began. They've got a great beer selection and took care of us right away. Food-wise, we started with the chicken wings, which were huge and packed with flavor. For me, the main event was the original patty melt. You know when something tastes homemade, but in the absolute best way possible? That was this burger. It was hot, juicy, and dripping with flavor, with perfectly caramelized onions and melted cheese. What really made it work was the bread, it still had a crunch instead of turning soggy. Every dip into the Thousand Island just made it better. The onion rings were a perfect sidekick. Around the table, my brother-in-law went with the Nutty Hog and enjoyed it, my sister liked her quesadilla, and my wife was happy with her chicken. No complaints anywhere.
