Yes, I think my pups are cute, but they are even cuter (and smell wonderful) after getting groomed by Juan and Ronney! This is the third time we've used Juan's Groom Room and have never been happier! Juan and Ronney are not only friendly and professional, but they seem to love the pups and what they are doing. My pups have never been happier! At first I was hesitant to go to a home based groomer. Mentally I was picturing a groomer huddled over the household bathtub or sink washing my dogs and grooming them on the kitchen table or counter. This was not the case. The groom room is by and far the cleanest and fanciest facility I have seen! The groom room is set up in the 'garage' but transformed in a way you'd never think it was once a garage. There is even a separate entrance as well as a pooping area with bags/trash station. Unlike grooming salons I've used in the past, your dogs are the only clients at your appointment time. Therefore, no long wait for getting your dogs back. Additionally, there isn't the issue I've experienced with mobile groomers (truck is too hot in the summer- stressful on pups), running late traveling from last appointment- often several hours, if not cancelled altogether or truck broke down. These aren't issues at Juan's Groom Room! JGR also the only groomer I've used that requires that shots are UTD. Although some may perceive this as an inconvenience, I appreciate that the health and safety of pups is important. Juan's Groom Room is the best- Pickles, Penny and I all give five stars! read more

I think I've found a new groomer for my West Highland White Terrier, Riley! Life as a new mom has been hectic and I had not been able to get Riley to the groomer as often as I previously had so to say he was over due for a grooming is an understatement. Juan's Groom Room is at his house and is probably cleaner than most grooming salons I have been to. Juan was very knowledgeable with the standards for Westie cuts which I greatly appreciated. I have come across many a groomer who don't know what the shape for a Westie's tail is but Juan was quick to ask if I wanted the Westie carrot tail or a little fluffier tail. My heart squealed with joy! He knows what he's talking about! He thoroughly went through what was included in the grooming and asked if I needed any extras (teeth brushing, conditioning, etc.) I was not sure of the length I wanted his body cut down to so Juan took the time to do a little sample on his body to find the right length. I had overbooked myself with events and I am extremely grateful for Juan's flexibility when I was late to pick Riley up. Riley looked like a completely different dog. I've never been to a groomer, so I honestly had no idea what to expect. But Juan made me feel super comfortable and talked me through the whole process. He was very gentle and patient with my dog, even though she was super nervous. He explained what products he used and why. We took our 2 fur babies there and they came out cuter than they've ever been :) It's been awhile since they've been groomed so I was a bit worried, but Juan talked us through our options and reassured us that he wouldn't have to shave them all the way down. Took our BearBear and Georgie for their first professional haircuts and we couldn't be happier!! Our BearBear just had her puppies so we wanted to wait to get her in for a haircut and in the meantime I tried to give her and Georgie a scissor cut until we could take her to Juan's for a cut. I have to say it isn't easy at all to cut their hair and so they both had choppy scissor cuts by me when I brought them in. I didn't think they would both look so good after their hair wash, and cut but OMG both of our babies look so good. My husband and I were amazed at how cute their haircuts are!! Juan is a home-based pet groomer. His work space was nice, clean, and better than most dog groomer salons I've been to in the past. Juan was extremely attentive to our cockapoo Stitch. He was professional, friendly, and I felt immediately comfortable with leaving my dog in his hands. One thing that I EXTREMELY appreciated was his thorough check of our dog's shot record. I once had a dog that contracted Parvo, so this aspect was important to me and appreciated. Not every dog groomer asks or actually checks shot records, so A+ for Juan to making sure the dogs that are under his care are safe. I think we've found our groomer! I've been hesitant to take my dog somewhere other than his original groomer in Bay Area for fear of a bad job- but I'm glad I took the leap of faith in using Juan's Groom Room! Juan was very friendly and he responded quickly. His price for the groom was reasonable and it came with 2 shampoos, nail trim, gland expression, ear cleaning and the cut. He works out of his garage, which has been completely converted to look like a grooming salon, front desk and all. My dog Oso needed a grooming ASAP because he had lots of burrs (stickers) stuck all over he's fur. I didn't give much details on the style I just asked Juan to help me out with Oso, since his an outside dog his always getting grass, little branches, and burrs stuck on him. I know what your thinking, most dogs confidence grows after a hair cut or their more comfortable henceforth a change in demeanor. But nope, my dog came home and now eats with a knife and fork, he speak fluid English, is learning Spanish and leaves clues with blue paw prints throughout the house. In comparison I dropped off my dog which had a personality comparable to snoopy and picked up a Brian griffin (family guy, dog). You drop off courage the cowardly dog and you'll receive a sophisticated Clifford the big red dog lol. In all seriousness Juan is a genuine dog lover, he paid more attention to Shaggy than he did to me, which shows his authenticity to his craft. When we spoke he mentioned how important their environment, individuality, and attention to detail is. Bringing your pup here to get groomed is equivocal to getting your spouse a stay at a day spa at a five star resort. Can't recommend him enough. Solid work Juan !! read more

Late post but finally remembered to getting around to write this review. Cannot recommend Juan enough. I was a little skeptical at first the fact that it wasn't a "real" grooming salon. But i was sooo wrong. Juan runs his grooming business out of his home, but it looks even better, cleaner, and nicer than most grooming places. He was very professional, very informative, and made sure to walk us through the whole grooming process. It also made me feel better when he told us he owned his own grooming salon in the bay area, so he was obviously not knew at this business and is very knowledgeable. Dont be fooled by the fact that his grooming salon is at his house, he runs it just like any other salon but even better. Our dogs have had bad experiences in the past, so much so that after a groom they would come home and be depressed for days at a time! Our crazy hyper boys turned to sad, low energy dogs. Nothing would excite them, not even their favorite snacks, or someone new at the door. It was SO SO sad, but after their appointment with Juan that was NOT the case at all. Let me start out by saying Juan is amazing!!! So years back we adopted two dogs (luna and Frankie), we were living in Santa Clara at the time. We don't trust too many people with our pups. I've heard numerous horror stories. Anyway, we saw "Juan's groom room" on yelp. We took both of our dogs there and they were soooooo amazing to our little girls. Frankie, our chihuahua is kind of nuts. She barks a lot, I mean a lot. She doesn't trust anyone but us and some of our friends and everybody at Juan's. Long story short he shut down the shop and moved to Sac. We were heart broken and didn't know what to do. I started cutting Luna's hair (it took forever) and we would take them to get a quick nail trim. One day my gf and I were talking about Juan and for some reason I looked on yelp in sac. Yes!!! We literally both screamed in excitement. We live in Daly City now. But guess what??!! We drive up to sac to see Juan. He's very good with our girls and I literally don't trust anyone else.
