My dog seems to be satisfied himself as he walks in happy and comes out fresh, clean, and lookong great. The inside is clean and smells good when you walk in. Paw Spa staff/owners are awesome! I have a 14 year old cat who needed her nails clipped . Nail trims for cats and dogs are taken on a walk-in basis. So, when I finally managed to get my cat to Paw Spa the co-owner called his wife to the front room to clip my cat's nails, on the counter! The co-owner stayed to hold onto my cat while his wife trimmed her nails. In passing I mentioned that I had injured my back and he said he would take my cat to the car. I was so very thankful and impressed! I told him that my dog's nails need to be trimmed but that he hates his paws touched and they would need to muzzle him And that my dog's a pit bull. He wasn't phased just said, "Okay, bring him in." Nail trim's are reasonably priced at 10 dollars for cats and dogs. I don't know if it is more for medium or large dogs. The Paw Spa is open Tuesday through Friday at 8am and if you want a nail trim you will need to be there be there before 2PM. They are usually open on Saturdays but are closed every third Saturday and sometimes another Saturday so it's best to call first. If you're doing a nail trim be sure you get there before 1PM because they close earlier than weekdays. You can always text them! They pretty much get right back with you. They also express dogs anal sacs (AKA anal glands) and provide a Spa Day for dogs! I saw the results when I was there with my cat, and the dogs leaving looked as though they were going to Hollywood! They claim it took four people to hold him, and they didn't want to stress him out. Now he's no longer limping, happy and back to chasing squirrels. Would and will recommend to anyone! My dog (small/medium dog) is very nervous and anxious about her paws. She's never bitten anyone but she will pull her paws away like she is fighting for her life. I've brought her to petco, petsmart, pet express, and they always bring her back out and said they can't. I've also brought her to a few dog groomers near Sheldon and around Sacramento who are 50/50 about being able to do it due to no appointments so I have had to bring her to the vet to get her nails trimmed before because they get too long after all the failed attempts. BUT I was recommended paw spa by a friend and they are amazing. I was a little nervous with recent reviews but my experience with them was very positive! They took her in quickly and they were very friendly. It took maybe 10 minutes, if that, and she was back with her paws trimmed and still happy! Prices are very reasonable and I will be coming back. TL;DR - Come to Paw Spa for excellent customer service interactions by phone (text) and in person, and well-groomed, carefully-handled fur babies. The long story: My family has been going to a different groomer for almost two decades. Like Paw Spa, they're a small local shop with a loyal clientele and an appointment book that fills up months in advance. In a pinch, I'll sometimes make a bath or trim appointment at one of the big box stores, but after all the horror stories you hear these days, I was too paranoid to take that gamble. So this time, when some last minute obligations arose requiring me to reschedule with my regular groomer who had zero availability, I turned to Yelp to find other options for the best groomers in the area. Enter: Paw Spa. With such shining reviews of not just great groom work but responsiveness (by text!) to boot, I was hopeful. Off the bat, I was disappointed when they informed me that they were fully booked through August 2022, but figured it says a lot about the quality they must deliver. So imagine my glee when an opening became available last minute and I was booked on the spot for a bath and brush-out (which I was informed would include sanitary and nail trims). I feel silly now for the apprehension I felt, trying a new groomer after so long - Paw Spa lives up to all the good things that have been said about them here. Matt greeted me courteously when I entered and offered me add-ons for my pups' visit. I even got to choose their complimentary bandanas. Later, when he noticed me parked outside, he came to my window with a smile and let me know they were ready. My pups looked so cute and smelled so fresh without any overpowering fragrance or fuss. One thing I inspected closely was their nails; other places I've been to struggle with my little boy's black nails and won't cut enough, and/or tend to cut corners and leave them blunt and jagged. Not here - they were adequately trimmed and filed smooth, and their paw pads were so soft! Upon closer inspection at home, I noticed their eye/snout area was cleaned up (which I didn't know was included in the services I booked) and there were no signs of trauma from mishandling, no tender spots, nicks or redness. Of course that should go without saying when entrusting others with your pets but I figured it wouldn't hurt to spell it out. Though I did pay the same as I do for a full groom with my normal groomer without my pups having gotten a full groom here at Paw Spa, I did book services here that I don't usually get, so it probably breaks about even, cost-wise. I did want to also mention, as I was parked outside waiting for my pups to be done, every single person who walked out of Paw Spa with a freshly groomed pup was absolutely giddy and delighted. I overheard one man on the phone with his friend proudly boasting, "my baby is so shiny!" while another lady cooed about how handsome her little fluffy guy was as he hopped into their car. It was a superb experience all around. I hope to be fortunate enough to book here again in the future. read more
