We have been going to Sheldon Road Groomers for a couple years, love the family owned business environment - they always go the extra mile - we didn't get our fur baby groomed in December but they still ensured he had a new toy & made us an ornament with his picture. I can't say enough great things about this establishment. Janice, Valerie and Koty are amazing! When we first got Kato he wouldn't even let us brush him, let alone give him a bath. That was 5 years ago. Kato LOVES Koty and Koty LOVES Kato Kato's "spa" day includes a bath, dry, amazing brushing, "mani/pedi", which includes toe hair and nail trim, gland check, a cute kerchief and a treat!! All of this at a VERY REASONABLE PRICE!! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur baby!!

This the BEST grooming place EVER!! I was in search of a new groomer because our regular groomer moved to Rancho Cordova, but was a little worried about leaving Odie with just any one because I've heard horror stories about dogs getting cuts, scratches, coming home scared and traumatized from other groomers. The staff at Sheldon Road Groomers are very friendly. Val took the time to listen how I wanted Odie to look. She explained what was going to be done and answered all my questions. I asked if she could a Dremel on his nails because the very first groomer I took him to clipped his wick. She said that some dogs don't like the Dremel but would give itry it on Odie. Val also told me to text her a pic of what kind if cut I had in mind so she could get a better idea of what I wanted. When I arrived to get Odie, his cut was PERFECT!! He was his normal happy self, not one cut or scratch on him AND Val was able to use the Dremel on his nails! I so if you're looking for a groomer to bring your fur baby to, look no further. This is the place!! Make your appt right away because they book up fast. I already made an appt to bring our German Shepherd (Bruce) here next week. August 11, 2018 Brought our newest addition of the family, Meko (Akita/German Shepherd mix), to Sheldon Road Groomers because Val did such a wonderful job with my Odie (Shih Tzu mix) and Koty with Bruce (German Shepherd). This place also has the BEST price around, especially for large and EXTRA large dogs. Look no further, this is absolutely THE BEST GROOMERS in Elk Grove!! I won't take my fur babies anywhere else but here!!

If you're looking for a spot to groom your pomeranian this is it!! It is so hard to find a groomer that can do the "Boo" cut but my pom always comes out looking great. They are also very friendly and you can tell that they truly love dogs. I have been going here for years and their service has always been consistent.

This was our first time at sheldon road groomers and they did such a great job! They were so friendly and so loving towards my dog. The price was really great for everything we got. Will definitely come back!!

I contacted Sheldon Road Groomers but they were slow to react. I recommend a solution to respond within 24 hours. When Sheldon did contact me, they were friendly and laid out service via text. If anything changes I would give them a try. I went to another groomer and so far I am pleased with their services. read more

The people are awesome! Bedside manner with animals are great. Outstanding treatment of the animals I have brought in. I have brought in more than one of our dogs for services and the dogs love them but also I have enjoyed speaking with the lady and man working in the facility. Great place to get the animals groomed and nails trimmed. read more

First time taking dog to a groomer so didn't know what to expect. I've never felt so welcome! Janice, Valerie and Dakota couldn't have been nicer! Valerie squeezed us in on short notice and Dakota did the best job on our little rescue pup!. He's clean, fluffy and nails all clipped. He even got a treat when he was done. I can't recommend them enough. I was blown away at how good they were and how welcoming to us and our dog. Really happy!! read more

This the BEST grooming place EVER!! I have been going here since I adopted my first baby in June of 2010. They really do a great job in grooming my babies. They accessorize the babies really cute, and there is always a theme, whether its Valentines Day, Easter, 4th of July etc along with a treat...at Christmas each baby goes home with a toy as well. I highly recommend this place, I have not had a problem since I started coming. They were also very careful with one of my babies who was dying of cancer. They treated him so special in his very last visit. read more

I love this local groomer! I've been to plenty of places including Petco, Pooch & Purr, Laguna Country Groomer, & Bath & Biscuits. I've had okay experiences with the previous places listed. They were either over priced or my three dogs came back with scratches. At the worst, they accidentally cut one of my Maltese's hanging nail and it got infected. Not only did I have to pay for the service, I also had to take him to the vet and he had to wear a cone for a week or so. However, Sheldon groomers are amazing! My pets come home so clean and fluffy with NO scratches or cuts around their belly. The groomers are always so excited to see when a customer walks in the door. That is always pleasant! I definitely recommend this place! The prices are reasonable also! The only bad thing about this place is that it was hard to find because it was hidden with a narrow pathway to the driveway. I tried so many pet groomers before , and my dogs were always scared, shaking and sometimes would have accidents.. but not anymore ever since we start going to Sheldon groomers they're calm and excited and felt loved by their groomers especially Dakota.. after the groom they all look great and smells so good.. This place is an absolute gem! The business is ran by a fantastic local family who cares deeply about our 4 legged friends. I have a bulldog and he is my life! I don't have human children so Barley is much more than just a pet, he is my fur child! I have no anxiety dropping him off because I know he will be taken care of during his visit. So excited to tell everyone about the new folks running this Dog Grooming. I saw a couple of bad reviews, but let it be known there's a new team at Sheldon Groomers. We have been taking our dogs to Janice now for 18 years. This is her new place and of course we followed her there. We live in Shingle Springs and drive all the way down to Elk Grove because she's that good. Her daughter and grandson are also there and are just as nice as Janice. We bring our pitbull here once a month and they take great care of him! The manager there always finds a way to make time to take care of our big guy even when she's booked up. Def appreciate her and her team. He always comes out fresh, super soft.. this will be go to place for him as long as we are out this way. read more

This is and will be the only place we will take are furry family members from now on. We brought in our STINKY BEAGLE BOYS and when we picked them up and they smelt so good. Thank you for fitting me in since you had a cancellation! I appreciated it since I really wanted to get them in today. Miko's undercoat has been shedding all over my house and you got all of it out! Thanks also for doing such a thorough cleaning of their ears! I really appreciate the extra care putting cotton in to protect their ear canals since they developed bad ear infections after the last groomer. So glad I found Sheldon Road Groomers, thanks Yelp! Mother and son duo Valerie and Dakota are absolutely uh-mazing! They listened to me about how I wanted my (three) toy poodles cut, asked questions, and gave recommendations. While I had an appointment, a pressing issue arose that required me to need to pick my dogs up sooner than originally estimated. I told Valerie and Dakota if they could not accommodate the time, that I would ask my parents to pick them up for me. Not only were they able to accommodate my time change, the dogs were ready earlier than requested. Professional, personable people, great pricing and good business hours. My family and I are relocating to another part of town in the near future. Due to the excellent service, I'll gladly drive across town. Thanks again Valerie and Dakota. Great place, I tried petco and it gets expensive. I paid $60+ there (whole package), versus $40 here for my pup full grooming service. People are nice and seemed to be patient with my pup as she is super excitable. I got a nice clean cut for her whereas when I went to petco it was a bit ragged. Here they took the time to get the hairs on her face all cleaned up and since it's Christmas season she got a Santa bandana and a free toy! They were even helpful as far as giving me information to help further treat my dogs fleas. Definitely a place I'll go back to and recommend to others. read more

Our first time here! We were regulars at Christopher's Place and had been looking for a new groomer since they closed. This place came personally recommended by a friend and got great reviews, so we gave it a try. They were GREAT! Asked me for specifics on how I wanted my dog's hair cut & even though I had no idea...they were able to help me figure it out. My old puppy looks better than ever & was super spunky & happy when I picked him up. This is the best cut he's EVER had & he smells good, too! I was told it would be a few hours, but he was done in less than 2. Dakota did the actual grooming & he was super friendly. Valerie was also extremely nice & helpful. I'd feel comfortable with either one of them grooming my dog the next time around! read more

Our dog, Spanky, desperately needed a nail trim and after shopping around I found Sheldon Road Groomers who took us right in as a walk-in for $10. I held my dog in my arms while he was worked on and he went through it super calm and relaxed. These guys are professional and courteous and super friendly. If you're looking for the best groomers in town this is the spot. Awesome customer service . My dogs love them and they come out so beautiful. I use to take my husky to the groomers right next door, and the lady at the front desk was one of the rudest people I ever dealt with and would over charge, and that's when I decided to try Sheldon and so happy I did. The lady that answered the phone was super rude and wasn't open to taking new clients. Her tone of voice and the way she went about talking to me was super unprofessional. I've never left a bad yelp review before, but the receptionist was really snobby and I felt the need to share this. read more

Janice who only grooms on Sunday did an amazing job on my dog. I use to take them to Christopher's place even after the change of ownership. All went down since then. Anyway I was pleased to know that they are also open on Sunday's which is also a plus! I highly recommend this place. All of them are so nice! Thanks again Janice for the awesome job!! read more

This is the third time we've used Juan's Groom Room and have never been happier! Juan and Ronney are not only friendly and professional, but they seem to love the pups and what they are doing. My pups have never been happier! At first I was hesitant to go to a home based groomer. Mentally I was picturing a groomer huddled over the household bathtub or sink washing my dogs and grooming them on the kitchen table or counter. This was not the case. The groom room is by and far the cleanest and fanciest facility I have seen! The groom room is set up in the 'garage' but transformed in a way you'd never think it was once a garage. There is even a separate entrance as well as a pooping area with bags/trash station. Unlike grooming salons I've used in the past, your dogs are the only clients at your appointment time. Therefore, no long wait for getting your dogs back. Additionally, there isn't the issue I've experienced with mobile groomers (truck is too hot in the summer- stressful on pups), running late traveling from last appointment- often several hours, if not cancelled altogether or truck broke down. These aren't issues at Juan's Groom Room! JGR also the only groomer I've used that requires that shots are UTD. Although some may perceive this as an inconvenience, I appreciate that the health and safety of pups is important. Juan's Groom Room is the best- Pickles, Penny and I all give five stars!

Petco on Laguna wouldn't take him anymore after his cough got real bad. Bummerskis. He's been coming here for years. Currently, it does cost a pricey penny. Years ago I remember it was only $45, but, I will still keep coming back here just for him. Only tricky part is finding the place. Even after coming here for years, I still need Google maps because I take the wrong turns sometimes. For appointments, it's helpful to be flexible. Usually they don't take same day grooming due to being booked. Appointments typically are weeks out, especially in the warmer months.

Over the years, several groomers have worked on Quinn, but I've found consistency with David. He is accommodating with scheduling, and his service is always quick, friendly, and professional. One detail I especially appreciate is his attentiveness. If he notices any changes in my dog's behavior while in his care, he always communicates it right away so I can monitor it. That kind of responsibility and awareness makes a real difference. The location is a little tucked away, but there's plenty of parking, including reserved spots for Noah's Ark customers. The staff, aside from David, are equally kind and welcoming. For first-time visits, proof of rabies vaccination is required, which speaks to their commitment to safety and responsible practices. Pricing is fair and reasonable, and most importantly, every dog I've seen come out of here-including mine-looks happy, well-groomed, and comfortable returning.
