My husband and I met Jeri at a Wilton mixer. We operate a Rescue and needed to kennel a current foster rescue GSD while "Charlie's" fosters went out of town. We called Jeri and she was extremely willing to work w/our rescue. The first time we took Charlie, we were greeted immediately and warmly. The check-in was easy and the staff were very accommodating. Charlie immediately felt right at home. He walked into the kennels w/out a second thought. Jeri kept us updated on how Charlie was doing and how well he was doing. By the time Charlie was picked up, Jeri had nicknamed him "Sweet Charlie". The second time we had to kennel Charlie, Jeri had no available openings. However, a day later, she called and said someone had cancelled and asked if we wanted to take that spot. I said, "YES". This time, Charlie jumped out of the car and couldn't wait to get inside. I had to euthanize my 8Yr old Doberman Pinscher 2 days after bringing her home from Badger Creek Kennels. Her front leg began crumpling and rear leg was slipping out from under her and she was walking on top of the foot with pads pointing upward. The vet told me that these neurological problems developed chronically over time unless there was a recent acute attack or trauma. Jeri, the owner was unresponsive (meaning she ignored them) to my emails with questions about what transpired, what schedule she maintained and what was the bandage in the video of Sheba. (attached) Staff person, Chelsea was rude when I asked to see the run where Sheba stayed, as if my request was too much of a bother as she had to check in another client, in spite of her knowing my dog was dead. I got the feeling they were very nonchalant to the point of hiding something. (No big deal, not our problem.) This occurred in April and it has taken this long (4 mos.) to put my grief aside to catalog my experience. My heart was ripped from me and the guilt I feel for taking her there is unbearable. My boys love coming here! We started daycare last year here to get them used to the place for a future week long stay. The staff have always been so nice and responsive to us especially when they were boarded for a week and we were texting and calling for updates. They still come here once in awhile for day care/boarding. My boys always come home happy and tired. I just boarded 4 of my special-needs cats there and had a very positive experience! As a "mawmee" of special-needs cats, I am very very particular when it comes to their care, and did a lot of Googling between here and the Bay Area (I live in Carmichael) when selecting where to board them while I moved apartments. I had never heard of Badger Creek Kennels, but they came up on one of my searches. They made my list, and I called them and set up a same-day tour. They were wonderful in accommodating my work schedule, staying open at least 20 minutes past closing time to show me around. I got a very good feeling about the place right away, and made my boarding reservation on the spot at the end of the tour. I felt comfortable keeping my medical needs cats there knowing that the owner is medically trained and lives on site. I also appreciated that they offered "vertical suites" for the cats, as opposed to small little cubbies like most boarding places! She was okay with me bringing scratching posts and such to furnish it for my cats, which I definitely did. When I dropped off my cats, her employee was very thorough in going over their list of medications to fully understand them. We discussed their health conditions in detail as well. While they were there for about 1 week, Jeri was great about keeping me updated on how they were eating and taking pills, and how they were doing in general! She even sent me a video toward the end of their stay of my cat Lilac playing and mewing! Lilac is usually very reserved with unfamiliar people, so I was super pleased to see her being so social and happy. Nobody needed any urgent medical care while they were there, but Jeri had gone over how she would transport the cats to a local veterinary emergency hospital, VCA Bradshaw, if the need arose. I happen to work for the company that owns that veterinary hospital (at a different location), so I called them and "checked the reference". VCA Bradshaw confirmed that Badger Creek has an account in good standing with them and is very reputable about bringing in animals in early stages of any medical issues! This was really a source of reassurance to me. I left a detailed signed document with Badger Creek authorizing emergency treatment for my cats at VCA Bradshaw (or any other clinic) and a list of emergency contacts and my pets' regular doctors. I woke up late on the day I needed to pick up my cats, and only had a few hours before I had to report to work to rush down to Wilton and pick up my cats! I showed up a bit late but Jeri didn't make me feel bad about it. I was definitely in a rush and kind of scattered, but she was very efficient in getting my cats checked out, getting their things in order, and helping me carry everything to the car. This was an A++ boarding experience. I had never kenneled my cats before so I was really nervous, but it was very positive. It was a nice little vacation for me as a mawmee to just focus on moving and taking care of my own things, a break from managing my cats! I would absolutely kennel at Badger Creek again, and picked up a stack of flyers and business cards to stock at my work to pass out to clients and coworkers. read more

My puppy knows we are taking him to the kennel miles ahead is always excited when he get there. Jeri always accommodates our last minute reservation and is sweet to leave our puppy for the day even if they are booked fully. I was very apprehensive taking my adult lab their when dropping off and seeing the facility for the first time in person, the pictures posted online look a lot better than the reality of the place. You animals are house in a hug metal barn you can imagine how that is in the summer for your animals. my 7 year old lab was in perfect health and physically fit with all shots before going to the facility. The day I picked her up she seemed ok initially but a few days after started coughing very badly continuously to the point she looked and made the actions of vomiting but nothing came out she continued to do this until it was a constant hacking 24/7 and when checking her throat to see if she had something stuck in it throat I immediately noted a large mass on her upper gums looked like a large marble hanging of her gums so I took her to ER BRADSHAW VET where they told me she had a VERY SEVERE INFECTION had to do X-rays give her pain meds and antibiotics so far first bill is costing me $700 now let me say this I'd give my last leg and will pay anything to keep my dog healthy and ok so I will pay whatever is needed to get her better. But beware of this and my story before you choose to take your animal to this or any other boarding facility. I will never take her back to this Place and subject her to a kennel cough health risk such as this!! Will update more later as we see how she does.I also had just bought a brand new pure bread akc black lab prior to knowing Lana was ill and had this kennel cough and now I'm hoping my puppy doesn't get it and we loose her. She was diagnosed with kennel cough not the type covered by the bordatella vaccine.I have antibiotic meds and pain meds for her at this point.I did speak to someone at the facility today and they said they were sorry she was ill and thank you for letting them know!! So my $300 boarding for The Weeknd is so far costing me triple that amount for just one dog at the ER VET. I will say the people were nice their and never rude. read more

This is by far the best boarding facility you can take your pet to. I have had experience with numerous facilities and this exceeds them all, as far as the type of care and value you pay for. Jeri (the owner) TRULY cares for the animals. She lives on the property and is a veterinary technician. She is attentive and even gave my dog a supplement when his stool was runny. Did I mention that all my dog's bedding, blankets and toys are washed right before I pick him up, without even having to request this? I mean, c'mon! This type of extra service would have incurred extra fees at other boarding sites. This is also the only place my dog will gladly jump out of the car and walk into. At other facilities, he completely resists entering the door and wants to run back to the car. That says something! I love that Jeri also posts pictures and videos on Badger Creek's Facebook page so that you can get updates on the pets while you're away. When my family and I moved out of the area, we looked for other boarding options closer to our new home. Nothing even came close to Badger Creek. We will now drive out of our way to bring our dog here when we need boarding services. It is worth the long drive for us to make sure our dog gets good care. We have been bringing our dog here for the past 3 years now. Thank you so much, Badger Creek, for treating the pets here as your own... Not like some facilities in the area who just view them as business and charge any extra fee to provide basic dog needs. If you would like excellent and loving care provided to your pet when you're away, take them to Badger Creek. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I first met Jeri while boarding my dog at Piccadilly Farms and followed her over to Badger Creek Kennels when Piccadilly closed down and she opened her own business. Jeri and her staff are wonderful. They get to know each dog and try to socialize them with compatible dogs during their stay. I've had several dogs over the past few years and they all seem to enjoy their time at the kennel. A big bonus is that Jeri is a RVT and is capable of caring for animals that need medication or special attention. I've seen her at my vet's office with someone's dog who got sick during their stay. I am a nervous doggie mama and have difficultly leaving our two dogs for trips and vacations--Jeri and staff at Badger Creek are amazing and truly care about the animals needs which allows me to feel better about leaving town. I have been taking my dogs here for several years and never worry about them while I am gone. I know that Jeri does a great job caring for my dogs! She takes the time to get to know all of the dogs that stay there and knows my dogs well. The runs are pretty big (especially if you get the indoor/outdoor run), but they also get a lot of time in yard. They get a lot more exercise than they would at most other kennels. read more

I've taken my dogs to Badger Creek almost exclusively - except when I try to make a last minute reservation, and they have no room.....but, that's my fault... lol I know my dogs will be cared for well by people who know dogs and really care for them. It is not convenient for me based on the location, but it is definitely worth it knowing my dogs will be well cared for. The prices are reasonable - which makes a huge difference when going away for more than a day or two. The prices make the location feasible (needing to take them in the day before travel, etc.). They have indoor/outdoor runs!! which is hard to find at a good boarding facility. I so appreciate that they will sometimes post pictures. They have even mailed me a photo of my dogs out playing after their stay! Much appreciated! The runs are in a converted barn, which is cooled very well in the summer. They have cats on the property who keep the area clean of pesky rodents. The cats make one of my dogs crazy! but, it is understandable based on the country environment - so, it's my dogs issue - she'll just have to get over it! read more

When I was given an opportunity for advancement in my job, I knew that I would be traveling and my dog meant everything to me and being taken care of while I was away was my primary concern. I toured Badger Creek and spoke to Jeri at length. The kennel is very well kept, clean and the activities and attention they provide for the dogs was what I was looking for. Whenever I picked up my dog he was happy and healthy, and when I dropped him off he was excited to get out into the play yard. It was a relief knowing that he was well taken care of while I was away.
