I was among a party of three yesterday evening at Judds and Jacksons for their Easter buffet. The quality of food and selection was great, just as it had been at their Thanksgiving buffet and New Year's Eve event. There was thick juicy sliced ham and roast beef, a selection of vegetable and pasta dishes, a spread of salads and a sweet dessert table. The dining room has a nice atmosphere. During our first time up at the buffet, an 86 year-old member of our party made a comment to me about how one of the soup's looked like dog food. It wasn't the best comment, and apparently someone nearby took offense. During our second trip back to the buffet, another diner- a complete stranger- called this member of our party a slang word for a female dog, and then explained why. We felt uncomfortable and intimidated. I expressed my concern to a hostess, who promised to send someone to speak to us to work this out- except they never did. Having to make repeated trips back to our table past this other diner made us uncomfortable. I spoke to a well-intentioned but happily apathetic manager who said that there were two sides to the story. His comparison of the two comments was offensive. I understand that the soup comment was inappropriate, and that restaurants cannot control what their customers say either way. But how could someone not speak up after having their girlfriend/wife/mother/grandmother/loved one called a "female dog?" The restaraunt's dismissive response spoke volumes to their handling of disputes and respect toward women. The staff did nothing to make or feel better, nor did they even bother to check in or talk to her. For a dinner that came to over $200 for the three of us, with gratuity included, we expected to be treated better than that. read more

Easter Brunch...we came with a large party, eggs were cold, bacon was not done, crab benedict, whatever it was on you could not cut it with a knife and the egg was not done, they ran out of plates....definitely not worth the price....we have been here for several Mother's Day Brunches this was the worse. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Judd's and Jackson's on Saturday night and it was wonderful! The food was excellent and beautifully presented and the staff was amazing. The were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back. If I could give it ten stars I would! Great place! read more

My family and I came here for Father's Day dinner, and we all really enjoyed it! We sat on the patio and loved the atmosphere. It was a really hot day but luckily they sat us at a table under the tent and the table had its own ceiling fan, which made it such a difference! We all enjoyed our appetizers and food - the calamari and the chicken francaise (I requested it over pasta) were my favorites. Service was a bit slow at times but we were not in a hurry so it was no big deal. I recommend making sure you get a food menu and the separate drink menu when you are seated. We didn't have either when seated and initially the server ended up just bringing the food menu, so when she came back to take our drink order we had to ask for the wine/beer list, so the initial process for getting drinks was a little slow. read more

Inside the Spring Mill Country Club, you will find the Garden Terrace restaurant and lounge. The lounge is in an adjacent room, with a huge bar surrounded by tables and it is a big as the dining room. Dining in the lounge, is of course more casual and offers it's own snack menu, with plenty of appetizers and sandwiches. I love their cream cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers and they make a great Philly cheesesteak and burger. Dining in the Garden Terrace restaurant is much more upscale, in the way of ambiance and menu offerings. Honestly, as many times as I have dined there, I do not know if you can order from the lounge menu in the dining room or the dining room menu in the lounge, although I can not foresee why it would be a problem. I sit in both, semi knowing what I will have. The views of the 18 hole championship golf course is visible with wall sized windows everywhere. The dining room also has a partial curved glass roof. They used to have a Maitre D' who made Caesar salads table side and flambeed' certain dishes, but I have not been there for dinner in awhile. They offer a nice Sunday Brunch, early bird specials, which are still on the pricey side, lunch and dinner. The food is fabulous and I do not care what you order, because the renowned chef takes great pride in his food. He will occasionally come out to greet the guests and he grew up learning how to cook from his Italian mother and knew this was what he wanted to do. Chef Nicandro Poccia has his own garden on the property where he grows his own herbs and vegetables. He has won numerous gold medals in culinary competitions. The DePaul family owns this country club and around these parts, everybody knows his name. I have personally met and chatted with Mr. Peter DePaul and family and they are very down to earth folks. His specialty soup is Manhattan style clam chowder and as much as I love the creamy goodness of the New England style, he makes a great bowl of soup. They offer a nice variety of appetizers and salads, however I find it hard to pass up the Strawberry, shrimp and spinach salad, that has walnuts and blue cheese crumbles in and is served with an orange dressing. They must have a dozen or more sandwiches and salads for lunch with an equal amount of entrees. For dinner, wow how do you choose, you don't you just keep going back. For dinner, their Lobster Risotto, Dijon shrimp, stuffed pork chop and pastas are all very delicious. I love the blackened filet mignon with the bleu cheese and the Tournedos King Neptune, which are twin filets with jumbo lump crab meat, asparagus and Béarnaise sauce. They have daily specials and on Wednesday nights they offer a beautiful prime rib special and on Thursday night they have crab legs. So yum. They offer outdoor dining, as well and they are open to the public. Came to the Easter Brunch yesterday and must say that we were underwhelmed with everything. The service was very good, food was ok nothing special. My husband got the prime rib and it was extremely disappointing with the amount of fat he was given, he said something to the server and they told him that it was supposed to be that way and to eat around it. He threw it out, he knows steak, he did go back for another piece and it was very tough and not edible. I thought that the brunch was a bit pricey but thought we would get a great meal, we were very unhappy. And then to add an insult you added a 20% gratuity for a buffet, we were discussing a tip for our server (he got us a drink, cleared plates and gave us the bill). My husband and I ate here for Fathers Day. He had the scallops and linguine. The scallops were done nicely, but the linguine was over cooked. I had the Chicken Francaise. The Chicken was soggy as it was swimming in so much sauce. The potatoes were over spiced and under cooked. The vegetables were done nicely. The bread was nothing special, store bought. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here. I'd be preaching to the choir if I told you how stressful planning for a wedding can be. (emotionally and financially). Our biggest challenge was finding a venue that would accommodate a small party (less than 80 people), has good food and was within our budget. We are so happy that we chose the Spring Mill Country Club! Our Banquet Sales Manager (Ray Favata) was excellent. From initial consultation to the day of the wedding, Ray was in constant communication with us via phone and e-mail. He is professional, has a great sense of humor and kept us relaxed. Our food tasting was fun! (complimentary for the bride and groom). We decided to pay extra money and invite our mom & dads on both sides of the family. This allowed us to sample more menu item choices. The chef personally came out to our table to introduce himself. Our initial plan was to have the ceremony outside under the gazebo. Unfortunately, as the week of the wedding (and day of) approached; the weather forecast was not looking good (50% chance of precipitation). It was our call but based upon previous experience & the forecast, Ray suggested we do the ceremony inside. Glad we opted for inside as it rained heavily just as our 5:30pm ceremony began. The ceremony set-up on the inside was quaint and beautiful, we loved it! Traditionally, the bride/groom/wedding party usually takes pictures after the ceremony. However, by doing so, they often miss out on eating all the food at the cocktail reception. We love food too much to miss out on that! We chose to take pictures before the ceremony from about 3PM-5PM. This allowed us to truly mingle with all our guests and sample all the Hors D'oeuvres. Thankfully, the sun was out earlier and the the rain held off until later......... our photographer was able to take beautiful pictures outside on the grounds of the Spring Mill. After the ceremony was over, we had headed over to our bridal suite. The Spring Mill staff immediately brought-in drinks and Hors D'oeuvres for us into the suite. That was right on time, that is what I am talkin' about! Our cocktail reception was amazing. The butlered and stationary Hors D'oeuvres were delicious. Our guests kept complimenting on how good the food was. The sit-down dinner was excellent as well. The Salmon chardonnay and Chicken/Crab Cake duet was delicious. So were the side vegetables and mixed green salad. The staff was excellent. My wife and I had our own sweetheart table. The staff catered to our every needs and always made sure we had a drink in our hand. The bartender(s) were great. Our guests complimented on how attentive the staff was. After the ceremony was over, the staff neatly/professionally packed up our wedding memorabilia (unity candles, cake topper, champagne glasses, guest book, etc.) and placed them into a box for us to take home. I continually have some of the best meals out anywhere In the surrounding three counties. I travel and enjoy healthy and tasteful food that is only fresh and still this place meets or exceeds my expectations every time. I would highly recommend!! read more

Went to Judd's restaurant at Spring Mill on Friday October 30th with another couple. It was our first visit since the Covid-19 outbreak, and we were very disappointed with the food. (They must have changed chefs) I had the veal dish, and thought it had an "off taste to it & couldn't finish it. My wife didn't like her chicken breast, which oddly had a drumstick attached to it. Our guests had the pork chop, and scallops which were "ok". We also thought the drinks were very pricey for happy hour. Unfortunately, we won't be back. read more

Returned with a friend (who likes it here)-for lunch. DESSERTS HAVE GOTTEN MUCH BETTER! Thank you! They changed the menu a little. Food tasted like they are not hitting the black pepper grinder too much which is good! I tried the diver scallops platter-------very good. HOWEVER the platter had THREE scallops on it! Ate here while golfing and really enjoyed it. Drinks are extremely reasonably priced. We got beers to go while golfing and they were only $3 each which is unheard of. And they put them in a cooler bag with ice! We enjoyed the buffalo chicken bites and cheesesteak pot stickers. The atmosphere here inside is underwhelming but the patio outside is nice. read more

Here is a letter I sent to their general manager after our lousy experience on August 25th, 2009. Of course it is still an unresolved complaint. Hello Mr. Rubin, My wife and I made a reservation and ate at your restaurant last night. We made the reservation because my parents eat there weekly and their lifelong neighbor eats there frequently as well. The neighbor purchased a gift card for us as a gift. Here is how our meal went. I presented the gift card to the waitress at the beginning of the meal and asked her to check it. Our friend told us it was for fifty dollars. The card has no expiration date on it. The waitress, who I wish to point out is blameless in this fiasco, came back with the manager. The manager explained to us that the card was worthless, has zero value, and that these cards were "deactivated" and she had personally checked the list and this number wasn't on it. She then asked if we had used the card before to bring the balance to zero or suggested there was an error in purchasing it. I stated that I would call the 60 year old neighbor who purchased the card for us right now. Your manager then said she wanted to "check again" and get back to us. We then had just finished our dinner and the lady came back and said she had "found" the number and that it was ok. So after the humiliation and embarrassment, the uncomfortable meal wondering if the card was ok, and the obvious question of why would you "deactivate "cards (my only guess its to intentionally irritate your customers), now she said she has the purchase date and the card is ok. Well Mr. Rubin, this is not ok with me. Subjecting my wife and myself to this behavior and lack of professionalism is not ok. I suggest you simply ask the waitress Lindsay what happened for an accurate account. And then get back to me promptly if you wish to resolve this matter amicably. read more

Right away the experience was annoying as we had never been to the country club before, it was dark and none of their signage is illuminated. One of the signs was even halfway hidden behind a big plant. After meeting the rest of our party and being seated for a few minutes we were given menus by our waitress who asked if some other employee had stopped by to talk to us, I assume to tell us about specials and take drink orders? We informed her no one had stopped by, which I thought should have been evident by the fact that some of us had no drinks and our table was right next to the bar. She took our drink orders and unenthusiastically told us about their soups and specials for the day, to which the least food snobbish person in our party replied "isn't part of her job to sell the sizzle?" I then looked at the menu and realized their online menu was old and both the appetizer and entree that I had decided to get beforehand were out of the question now. Normally this would be a minor inconvenience but being on a special diet I was severely limited as to what I could order from the newer version. On the plus side I will say my appetizer, the ahi tuna was very good with a tasty wasabi sauce and fun seaweed salad. So during eating our entrees there was a few times we ordered drinks and the waitress failed to remember who ordered what. Everyone finished their entrees and it was after 930pm and we had been the last customers dining for a while.... Our waitress was nowhere to be found for around 10 minutes. Then when she does come to check on us she asks about desserts to which everyone says no thanks and then inquires if we wanted more water??? She is told no thanks and implored to get the check for us (since some of have an hour drive home). She returns with mints or chocolates (I did not eat mine so unsure what it was) for us, well all of us except one and tells us she will be right back with one more. For some reason after waiting on us for close to 2.5 hours she forgot there was 8 in our party when she was grabbing them, or she just didn't care. She was told not to bother getting the 8th one and we said goodbye. That summed up the place to me, one last minor annoyance on a totally average experience. I have no idea about the cost of the meal as my sweetheart picked up our portion but I would go out on a limb and say we could have picked an applebees or a TGI fridays randomly and had a better experience for cheaper. read more

Caesar salad was swimming in dressing, pasta (without seafood) was gritty. One mixed drink (manhattan) cost $11.50 ... ok for NYC, not acceptable for Warminster. The was no wine list. I have dined here about a dozen times in the past 20 years. Generally, OK, but they won't win any awards. My recent visit was with a small group. The service was amateurish, sort of what you would expect in a small pizza restaurant. The soup was delivered with teaspoons. The pasta dishes were also presented with teaspoons. I noticed a few reviewers raved about the Manhattan clam chowder. I question their culinary reference as to what a good soup is. My chowder had a very distinct taste of "canned" [think Progresso] with an overabundance of corn starch added to produce a nice shine on the surface and thickness on the tongue. There were lots of cubed potatoes in the soup with the skin on [never a good idea] and, ironically, the same red-skin potatoes appeared on several other entrée plates in my group. Clams were plentiful, but certainly not worth the $8 price for my bowl. The panninis are a rather mediocre, dry version of a real pannini. It appears they do not have a real pannini press or just don't know how to make them. The fish and meat entrees were fine - but all with the same red-skin potatoes. Overall, fine, but a bit overpriced for what actually winds up in your plate. The atmosphere and appearance of the dining room is very nice and always has been. Mostly, the cheap soup really annoyed me. read more
