If you are looking for photos that will withstand the test of time, look no farther. It's been more than 6 months since my wedding, and I still love looking at my photos. They are truly timeless. When I initially decided to contact them as potential wedding photographers, I already had a lot of confidence in their abilities because I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding almost 16 years before, and Gavin was her photographer. I was gifted a photo, and I still look at and love it to this day! The fact that they were still in business boded well. In addition, I perused their website before contacting them, and I loved what I saw. Their look and style was what I was looking for, and they delivered just like I thought they would. From the consultation to the delivery of photos and videos, Judy and Gavin were incredibly professional. Judy took the time to describe their photography style and walk us through their approach during the consultation. We decided to hire them as our photographer and videographer. They were quite an expense for our budget, but they were worth every penny. In fact, we have a professional photographer friend who we asked for opinions, and he told us, for the quality they deliver, we would not be able to hire anyone cheaper. I wholeheartedly believe this. I had read that photographers and videographers were one of the vendors where you don't want to skimp because those photos and videos are the memory of your day. If you don't like how they look, you may regret that for a long time. I can happily report that I have no regrets about my photos or videos. Judy and Gavin were pleasant and fun to work with throughout the whole process. We hired them for both our engagement and wedding photos. They did a great job of capturing our personalities and the overall feel of the wedding. I'm so impressed! On my wedding day, they also had two assistant photographers who were also very friendly and took some great photos! My dad has long term health issues and so could not physically attend. Judy, Gavin, and the whole team was very sensitive to this and did a wonderful job of capturing my (now) husband and my visit to my dad on the wedding day. This means more than I have the words to express. Also, I am generally quite picky about my photos, so it's really to their credit that I have a hard time choosing favorites. They were also great about sticking to their timelines. They delivered all photos on time if not early, including sneak peeks! They even waited until we were back from our honeymoon and could verify receipt of the USB drive before they deleted anything. We did our engagement photos at Disney and the beach and had such a fun time both sessions. Judy and Gavin are the complete package. It's been over 10 years since our wedding, and we continue to work with Judy and Gavin. It's wonderful to track our family and childs growth over the years with the same high quality photos. What set them apart when choosing our wedding photographer was first their understanding of lighting. Quite frankly, so many wedding/pro photographers get away with just a fast 1.4 lens and great outdoor lighting, when you know what I mean, you see it everywhere. But they know how to take great photos indoors and in low lighting, including epic sunset shots. Even night time astro shots! Second was their videography as well. We did not want to hire photo and video separately. At least not without the two knowing and enjoying working together. We didn't want them conflicting, as each would of course want to try to get their own shots for their clients. I knew they needed to coordinate and work well together. Best wedding photographer I ever could have hired! You will not regret booking them! After 8 months of being married, I still regularly look through our engagement and wedding photos because they're so breathtaking and magical. I kind of want to frame all of them, all around my home... is that a good decor choice? Maybe a wallpaper from them all? We hired Judy for our wedding in November 2022. There seemed to be so many different wedding photographers, but when I saw a college friend's wedding album from J+G's work, what stood out to me was the way the photos were so beautifully lit (in both day and nighttime). I liked that the website had straightforward pricing, so that couples can tell whether their budget aligns before spending time reaching out or having a meeting. I had a few Zoom meetings with wedding photographers, and Judy's warm, approachable and candid demeanor made it immediately feel like I was chatting with an old friend, not a wedding vendor. My now-husband liked their work the best, and we decided to book them. Unfortunately, Gavin wasn't available for our actual wedding, but we did get them both for our engagement shoot. We decided we wanted to visit Vasquez Rocks at dusk with their astrophotography skills, and although they'd never photographed at that location, they were totally game. The family even took a trip out in advance of our shoot to scout the best locations, parking, timing, and all other details so that we could spend our day shooting as much as possible. Judy helped me withy outfit selection in advance, too. Judy and Gavin are an incredible team together, and my only regret was not booking them earlier. One of Gavin's specialties is astrophotography, and he handled the technical aspects of setting up lighting in order to get incredible photos with starry skies. We are not models and didn't really know what to do for professional shoots, but Judy's direction in posing, looking at each other, etc drew out emotions that photographed us looking so natural, relaxed, and in love. The results were STUNNING AF and I can't get over how beautiful all of the images are. At the wedding, Judy had helped me put together a timeline for the day, gave me advice and ideas, and brought along a second shooter, who was also extremely nice. She remembered everything I had asked for in advance (and 100% would have forgotten about on my own with all of the wedding craziness), like photos in our cigar lounge and nighttime photos with our candlelit aisle. They directed our wedding party in such fun poses, and made sure that we got individual photos with each one of our wedding party members that captured our personalities and friendships. You can truly see and feel the love in all of the photographs. One other thing we really wanted was photos with all of our different extended families during cocktail hour and photos with each table before dinner, and our photographers were amazing at organizing and directing so many different crazy friends and family members (some who were overserved and didn't take direction well) to get through the photos quickly. More importantly though, they knew how to make us feel comfortable and relax which showed through the photos. We also had a Vietnamese/Chinese cultural aspect to our wedding and Judy & Gavin automatically understood what to do, How to take the pictures, and organize the family members. I love how Judy and Gavin's website is very straight-forward. All the pricing is located on the site. On our Zoom meeting, Judy and Gavin were very approachable, easy going and honest. They really cared about our wants and needs; they took time to understand our wedding vision and goals. Judy helped us brainstorm a rough draft of what our timeline would look like on the wedding day. Judy was also very responsive throughout the planning process. My husband and I had no idea where to even have an engagement shoot. No pressure at all. Judy came up with a few locations for us to choose from. My husband and I were actually nervous about the shoot; we aren't models and we don't know how to look natural and not awkward when posing for the shoot. She said Judy and Gavin so I went to check out their website and was very happy to see that they actually list their prices on the website. Everyone else I had to request a quote from. I appreciated that very much. Judy is very responsive and quick to answer any questions you may have. She made sure we were aware of the many different styles of photography that they were experienced and specialized in. We had a Skype call to discuss and look through her portfolio and it was great ! The day of she arrived early to set up and even found parking on the street so I did not have to cover valet parking. She was super attentive and paid attention to all the details and she was moving quick! Her husband Gavin was a delight as well! He's so funny and definitely brightened up the mood as I was so anxious and worried about timing. We shot at the Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena and then at city hall and the shots were amazing. After the entire wedding, Judy sent me previews just ONE week after!! Insane! All our photos were sent about a month after and we got our video a little over 2 months. We hired Judy and Gavin for a photo and video package for our wedding (which included an engagement photo session), and the service and quality of photos were worth every penny! My husband and I fell in love with a remote part of Sequoia National Park and wanted our engagement photos done there. There was an extra travel fee but it was very reasonable. It was quite an adventure between windy dirt roads, bears and other wildlife but we were so impressed at how willing he was to do what it took to make our photos perfect! None of the photos were unique or different, they are just basic photo's, anyone could have taken with their phone. $4500 for both of them to shoot photos, they were given a photo shot list that they apparently ignored, except for those photos on the list that were for the bride's family. There is not one single photo of the groom's extended family, even worse, there is not one single photo of the groom and his mother alone or the groom and his mother and father alone. No photos of guests taken during cocktail reception, dinner, speeches or other activities throughout the evening. With 2 photographers, the photo shot list should have been completed easily! To Judy and Gavin, if you take photos of people with funny looks on their face, their mouth open, or an unflattering photo, those photos shouldn't even be sent, they should be discarded! Who wants to see photos like that!! I would NEVER recommend Judy and Gavin to anyone! If you should decide to use them, I would suggest you hire someone to follow them all around night to make sure the photos you want are taken. read more

They were all good but being a professional photographer for over 25 years I know the difference and after reviewing Gavin and Judy's photos I was sure they would capture the look and feel for our once in a lifetime event. From the first phone call to the final delivery of photos they were there to answer all our questions and made sure to ask all the right questions. For the final meeting before the wedding Judy stopped by our house to go over all the details and even helped us with the timeline to make sure there was enough time for the photos we wanted. On the wedding day they were prompt and ready to go with their team and even though the day with our outdoor ceremony was overcast, showers off and on and cold they pushed through captured photos that were beyond our dreams. Judy and Gavin are a power couple that help take artful and tasteful photos and videos for your special occasion, while being genuinely sweet and grounded people.  They helped capture our wedding ceremony on video, as we had already secured a photographer who then recommended them to us. Gavin took the time during our first conversation to understand our vision and confirm he could execute what we wanted. That's an underrated aspect - many other people would simply accept a job even if there were potential "fit" issues just to get paid. But Gavin was very honest, and after a nice chatthat touched on various aspects of the wedding, we were able to confirm we were all on the same page. On the actual day of the wedding, Gavin and his assistant (Efrain [sp?]) showed up promptly on time and smoothly, unobtrusively, filmed everything from getting ready all the way thru the end of the reception. Using multiple cameras, mikes, and even a drone, they captured the event from all angles.  Finally, after a wonderful teaser video (within a week of the wedding - wow!), they provided the final highlight video about 2 months later and the sound quality of our speeches, toasts, etc were stellar, and the footage itself in clear high-definition. Judy did take the time to ask what our music preferences were, and they were able to use that to compile a video that hit all the right notes. Working with Judy and Gavin for our wedding photography was amazing!! They are both so personable and fun to work with!!
