Several different friends have wanted to check this place out so I've been here a few times lately. It's super dim inside but there's a lovely patio out back. The food, drinks, and staff here are solid. This last visit, my friend and I just ordered cocktails at the bar which were good. It was pretty lively inside and the mood setting was great for our night cap. During previous visits, I've gotten their Duck Confit Sliders and Bond Street Burger. One eyed mikes is a must stop in when in Baltimore! It's a place you can tell holds a-lot of history. It's small, intimate, and cozy. Everything is truly top notch from the service, to the ambience. Don't even get me started on the food! The broth for both the shrimp & clams I genuinely wanted to slurp from the bowls. The flavors of butter, garlic, and herbs were absolutely delectable. A small group of us came here for drinks and dinner... the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The place has a really cool, historic vibe to it and we heard it's haunted too. The concept is really intriguing here, you can buy a bottle of Grand Marnier and it'll stay in that bar forever, until you drink it all. If you come back anytime, you can drink it for free or pay a couple of bucks if you want it mixed into a cocktail. They have thousands of bottles stocked here with people's IDs on them. Their cocktail list is very cool as well... a couple of hits were their Caramel Old Fashioned and their Perfect Storm. Watching the bartender make the Caramel Old Fashioned is a treat as well! They have a very nice menu and it's not "dive bar" type food either, the chef is a legit, French trained chef making amazing food. The items we tried we all very good. This was my second visit to the restaurant. The first time I came in late, so I only had drinks, which were great. This time, I was able to try the food, and it did not disappoint! Thid bar is a Grand Marnier club where you can become a member if you choose. Went on a random Tuesday evening and had the best experience. Quiet, intimate, dimly lit, even the shades at the front of the bar were closed. All you had was the light from the bar area and the display cases. Ordered some shrimp and a couple of Grand Mariner cocktails and was delighted. The bartender was a great hostess. Don't come to this bar, if you want to drink and watch a game. I had a great time at One-Eyed Mike's! I met up with a few friends here and we sat at that bar. They ordered food that I had a couple bites of and enjoyed! We got a couple cocktails and wine here as well and overall the vibe was great. The bartender was cool and personable and made some good recommendations. He also took a shot of Malort with us lol. I ordered a dirty gin martini that I thought was great, and tried my friend's espresso martini which was also good! (Really a 3.5 but bump up bc I live here and we need to support local). This was one of the stops in our bar crawl for my friends goodbye party. I've lived in the city for five years and never made it here! It's off the beaten path in terms of fells point bars but it's classier inside than what the name suggests - thought it was a DIVE bar (looks like it's also a restaurant). We went bc my friend saw they had expressions martinis but I will say (not sure if it's bc we ordered six) the quality was so bad. First of all you can see from my photo the foam is chunky. Like they tried to do a nitro but it was awful. I give it three stars bc of the cloyingly sweet drink that none of us could finish. But the star is the ranch vodka martini. It's so different and good - make sure to ask for the pearl onion! This is also a Grand Marnier bar where you can buy your own bottle for like $250 a year and store and get access to events. The staff was accommodating for a large group of rowdy people so I do appreciate that. I will be back and can't believe I've never been here before! read more

One-eyed Mike's is located on a residential street. It is a converted rowhome that will surprise you. You open the door and a long bar fills the dimly lit space. Everyone is friendly. The owner is awesome and definitely comes out and chats with you. There are regulars and new guests. All the food is really good and most of the portions are huge. The wedge salad is big enough to split and the chunks of bacon in it are amazing. The coolest thing about One-eyed Mike's is you can be a member of the Grand Marnier club. Come for drinks and ambiance. I haven't tried the food, but the bar experience is top notch. It is dark and moody with soft candlelight setting the mood. Along one wall they have a case full of Grand Marnier bottles. We actually learned about this place while having a drink at Jake and Snake's Christmas Bar in New Orleans. Super random. But my wife ordered some marnier, and another patron asked if we had ever been to Baltimore. Why yes, we said. And he said One Eyed Mikes is Grand Marnier central. And he is right. Members get perks, such as an individual bottle saved in their case and displayed proudly like a trophy for being a winner in life. The best part of the experience in my book is the caramel old fashioned. They put the bourbon in a rocks glass, then place a metal strainer on top. They place a sugar cube on it and soak it in a housemadr orange bitters, then light up a blowtorch and flame it in front of you. Dinner and a show. The cube caramalizes and melts right into your glass. The drink is great, a unique old fashioned variation where you can really taste the caramel and orange notes, but it's still boozy. Bonus points for location, right in the heart of Fells Point. read more

I will be honest, I only had the Caramel Old Fashioned, so this rating is entirely based on that drink, the ambiance of the bar, and the service of the bartenders. My husband and I were in town and stopped in on a Thursday evening purely for this drink. He's a big Old Fashioned buff, and read about this one. It is so perfectly balanced that even someone who doesn't like Old Fashioned would probably love it. Plus, it's entertaining to watch them make it (there's fire involved). The bartender, whose name I can't remember because I'm terrible with names, was amazing. He was super friendly and shared lots of information about the bar and the area. He's a gem and I feel terrible that I can't give him kudos here. This is the kind of bar that you can come to and chat with the people there and they won't look at you funny. The space is also amazing. The front half is an old wooden bar with neat, intricate details. They have an extensive collection of Grand Marnier on display from their club members. It's so different from the other bars around town and makes you want to pull up a stool and stay a while. There is a dining room in the back if you're looking for a sit-down restaurant as well. I enjoyed One Eyed Mikes. I arrived around 6:45PM, headed to the beautiful courtyard in the back and proceeded to order dinner. I had the crab cake sandwich with a side of pasta salad. I also ordered a caramel old fashion and another delicious drink I am forgetting the name of. I enjoyed my food and drinks. The courtyard is beautiful and has heat lamps. The food was good but that's where it ends. We were largely ignored by the wait staff and had to flag them down or find staff. The macaron that came with the meal was soft and mushy not to mention none of the staff knew the difference between macarons and macaroons. The ambiance was awful because it was so dark and we had to use the lights on our phones to see the menu. The straw that broke the camels back was a patron at the bar made a comment about giving the person they were with a roophy and the bartender laughed it off. read more

2 1/2 stars. Cute little bar with dining room off the main dragin Fells Point. The interior is dimly lit with white clothed tables. Compared to busy Thames street, the place was almost empty. Seems like a nice place for a date night. Ultimately though, most of the food was a fail for me. The best item was the appetizer meatballs. The meatballs tasted freshly made but were covered with oodles of sauce and cheese. 17 year old and I ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich. This had to be one of the worst crab cakes I have ever had. It had lots of filling, very little crab, and was so salty I could barely eat it. I brought my leftovers to 15 year old and he agreed. My salad n ordered Brussel sprouts to go which were soft, without any crisp at all. The best part of our sandwiches was the side of pasta salad that came with it. I am not usually a pasta salad fan, but this was Mediterranean style, with olives, tomatoes, and a hint of oil. My husband enjoyed his scallops and risotto. I thought the scallops were too salty. Service was very friendly and efficient. Shameful that a crab cake in Maryland was so bad. I came in with a few people on a Saturday night for the first time. It's quite dark with Grand Marnier bottles all over the wall. It's kind of intimidating to be honest. But we were able to sit at the bar and the bartender took our order immediately. I got the espresso martini, which to be honest, I could not finish bc it was waaay too sweet. The manager was also helping to bartend and saw that I wasn't drinking it and asked if I wanted something else. He told me about their ranch or blue cheese Infused martinis so I got the ranch and it was really delicious! He let me try it and then added more olive juice to my liking. One Eyed Mike's is a fun bar with anything but a bar menu! The lights flicker, bottles of Grand Marnier line the walls, and mirrors are set up to look like port holes. But that's where the gimmick stops. Walking past the bar into the dining room, white table linens await you, along with an extensive menu, including a variety of fresh seafood choices, and *superb* service. We had the lobster mac n' cheese, a bowl of chili and a crab cake sandwich. The lobster mac had plenty of fresh lobster, and the pasta was the perfect texture. It was superb. The chili came loaded with cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green onions and was served with a side of tortilla chips (again: superb).The crab cake sandwich was delicious; served with lettuce, tomato and onion and a side of pasta salad. It's rare that you find an eccentric restaurant that also offers quality dining, but it was an overall win for us. read more

I've been visiting Mike's for about 13 years now. My X introduced me to this bar-restaurant where he had (has?) a bottle of Grand Marnier. I quickly fell in love with the dark and moody vibe of Mike's. I dig how the wall opposite the bar holds illuminated shelves of GM bottles. That said, I don't love GM, nor am I a cocktail person. I am a beer drinker and the best beer on tap is Brewer's Art Resurrection, which hasn't tasted right from a can or from draught in a while to me. I had high expectations. Yeah, I'm a tourist. My bad. Anyway. I ordered a Natty Boh. Then the barkeep alerted me to the happy hour menu. Oysters are $2. Nice. I got the 5 minimum. They serve them with cocktail sauce, but I like oysters with hot sauce, horseradish, salt pepper etc. I'm not from around here, OBVIOUSLY, but generally, many places I go to offer sea salt and fresh cracked pepper so I was just asking about it. They looked at me like I was from outer space. And when I asked if Tabasco was the only hot sauce, I pretty much felt like I was sorry I asked. Sorry. Okay but then I ordered a burger. They asked me how I wanted it cooked, I said MED RARE. The burger came. It was MEDIUM WELL. Zero pink. So then the barkeep asked how it was. I said it was good but overcooked and I assured her it was okay because "at least it tastes good" Which was a lie. I was just trying to keep the drama to a minimum cuz I could have easily made a stink when I knew the burger was overcooked. But no. I ate it. With a mild complaint. Didn't raise a fuss. First time at this restaurant. Despite a few negative things we experienced this place is a hidden gem. We had a reservation for 7 and prior to our reservation we get a call from the restaurant letting us know that the chef and sous chef called out unexpectedly and that we may have to wait a little longer to get our food. We weren't in any rush and really appreciated the heads up. Very rare that a restaurant would even think of doing that so that was a plus. We greeted instantly when we walked into this cozy, candlelit and intimate setting. We ordered and got our cocktails fairly quickly. Which were all deliciously made by the same guy who greeted us, bartender and our server. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. From the wedge salad, French onion soup to our mouthwatering burgers. I'm a huge fan of French onion soup but the restaurant's AC was not working. All the dishes we've tried have never been a let down. The nachos are plentiful and come in a cast iron skillet. My husband's go to is the spicy chicken sandwich. The couple times I've been to One Eyes Mikes I've had a really good experience and a really bad one! The good one was first which is what made me want to come back. The bartender was personable, knew how to make a good drink and the food was good. I had a cheese steak with a side of pasta which while it sounds like a lot of carbs the portion sizes were good so I didn't feel overwhelmed by carbs. No complains on my first visit which is why when I was looking for a place to take a friend this place naturally came to mind. Brings me to the next visit. I'm pretty sure the bartender was wasted.. I was encouraged by my boyfriend to order something simple (he got whiskey neat) but I didn't notice how drunk the bartender was and ordered my signature dirty martini. Such a mistake not only was the martini TRASH he spilled a good amount of it bringing it like 5 steps from where he made it. It was a one and done kinda night as we moved on to a different bar. If I go back I'll make sure that bartender isn't tending bar. I also still don't quite understand the Grand Marnier club they have since it's a liqueur and I've always used it to heighten a cocktail and not on its own. But hey they seem to have a lot of members of the bottle club so they must be doing something right. read more

I didn't really know what to expect of One eyed Mike's. We were meeting friends for our last dinner in Baltimore before heading back home the next day and they chose this place. At first I was wary. I thought, how good could their bar food be? Thankfully, pretty darn good! We were seated in their dining area, which I could see would be really cramped if too many people pile in, but thankfully it wasn't a busy night and there was ample room for our party of 7. I started with adobo chicken tacos, which were nicely seasoned pulled chicken served in corn tortillas and topped with pico de gallo and salsa verde served on the side. My tacos had lots of flavor. For my entree, I ordered the pork chop (one of the evening's specials) with wild rice and side salad. The chop was quite large and very moist. Other plates ordered was the surf and turf (my husband's steak was cooked perfectly rare), lobster with crabcake and scallops, and blackened shrimp pasta (which looked especially good). I was told the green beans were very good too. They only had one option for dessert (cake with marscapone filling) but I was in the mood for something chocolate so I passed. This is a Grand Marnier bar so of course a round of shots were had. It was a perfect sip to end a great meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and would return again in a heartbeat. read more

Hidden gem!! We have been coming to Mike's for years for GM and somehow have never eaten here. Wow we were missing out!! These guys are up there with Thames St Oyster and I think better than Loch Bar. We got the meatball over polenta and French onion soup for apps, both amazing. For entrees I had the seared scallops over lobster and crab risotto and my husband ordered the duck breast over parsnip purée with GM reduction. Both of which were gonna before I even thought to take a picture. The risotto was plentiful with lumps of crab and lobster, scallops were seared so beautifully and seasoned to perfection. My husband actually stopped eating and said he wanted to slow down because he was going to be sad when the duck was gone...it was THAT good. I guess we need to come back ASAP!! The friendly and helpful bartender/server said they have a few seasonal items coming too, we cannot wait to come back to try everything! We selected the location based on Yelp reviews. We were very pleased with the decision. The pub/restaurant is in a former home and is very "Baltimore" ie long and narrow. When we entered the bartender greeted us very quickly and made us comfortable. She handed us over to George to seat us and he was our server for the rest of the evening. Martinis were excellent. I rarely feel compelled to write a review. We are visiting from a town with excellent dining options, and my wife is an excellent cook, so we are quite (some would say excessively) picky. $200 (includes tip and tax) for dinner for three with only two ordering drinks- not cheap, but worth every single cent. Scallop, duck breast, and crab cake entrees were truly as close to perfect as possible. Even at a great restaurant, our group of three would usually produce at least one comment such as, "this is great, but would be even better if..." During this meal...not one such comment...not one suggestion to improve an entree. I seldomly leave well enough alone...so...the nacho toppings were excellent and ample, thus mildly exceeding the proportion of tortilla chips. If that's the worst you can say for a place... We had the back patio to ourselves for over half of the time and the service was perfect; we never needed anything, yet never felt watched or bothered. They either possess a sixth sense or monitored our needs by a security camera. read more
