The building was dimly lit up and a little overwhelming at first with all the signs but the service here was polite & I decided to try the orange creamsicle because I LOVE that ice cream & as a smoothie??? I stopped in on a chilly, overcast Sunday evening around 5 p.m. with a very specific craving: grilled cheese and soup. Juice & Java delivered big time. When I walked in, the café was quiet, with just a couple of customers working away on laptops. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, with a perfectly nostalgic 90's soundtrack playing overhead. The café itself is small and quirky, with local artwork for sale adorning the walls--an inviting little space that immediately makes you want to linger. The menu was surprisingly large for such a small spot, and while their coffee selections seemed endless, I skipped the caffeine this time. Instead, I ordered: 4-Cheese Gourmet Grill ($9.95) - Monterey Jack, provolone, American & cheddar, a bowl of Roasted Red Pepper & Gouda Soup ($4.79) and two canned sodas ($1.95 each). The staff were friendly, the tables were spotless, and our food came out quickly. The grilled cheese was generously portioned--easily shareable, with perfectly gooey, melty cheese and plenty of those delightful "cheese dangly bits" that make a grilled cheese worth it. But the real star? That Roasted Red Pepper & Gouda soup. Creamy without being heavy, rich with flavor, perfectly warm, and absolutely made for dunking a grilled cheese. I was so glad I ordered a bowl instead of a cup--I would've been sad if it ended too soon. It was one of the best soup-and-sandwich combos I've had in a long time. All in, our meal was just over $20 with tip--reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. With their great hours (breakfast through dinner, seven days a week), plenty of parking in the strip mall lot, and a menu full of tempting options, I'll definitely be back to try more. The prices are great, the food comes out fast, and it's such a cute little spot. It also looked like some people were working on their laptops so also a great spot to come if you're wanting to work remote. It's relatively quiet and usually pretty chill. Strawberry Colada smoothie is my favorite. It's refreshing and delicious. For lunch I got a chicken caesar wrap and it comes with maui onion chips. There was a good amount of chicken and caesar dressing which I like and it was a good size to fill me up. My friend and I wanted coffee, but I also wanted food for lunch. This shop has coffee, smoothies, teas, pastries and sandwiches. I got a sandwich called the Dirty Harry. It was pot roast, cheese, peppers toasted on a roll. It was served with au jus and was delicious! The iced mocha frappe I got was pretty good. The ambiance is okay, but it's not a great place to hang and talk because it can be very noisy. There are loud blenders running and things. I got a smoothie to go and enjoyed it. I got the breakfast burrito with feta and it was AWESOME. They have a bunch of great vegetarian options to choose from! Prices were a little steep for what you got, but it was on the east coast. I had an order for pickup that was scheduled to be picked up at 1:30 (it was only a drink). When I asked about my order I was told they were working on it. I stood around waiting without an update for 20 minutes while listening to two employees making ignorant comments about other customers. When asking when my order would be ready I was told it was "right here" in the blender, while two employees rolled their eyes at me and laughed. My son and I like trying coffee and food from different places so we drove an hour to try this place. My son ordered Vanilla cafe latte and a chicken Caesar wrap. I asked for a caramel latte no whip with almond milk and a sundried spinach melt with no Chipotle...I especially requested NO Chipotle and was told they could do that. We got our food and then our drinks. We both wanted HOT lattes however one was cold and I kept sipping my hot caramel latte thinking it was the worst I'd ever had. Only to discover once we got home the awful hot caramel I was sipping was my sons vanilla latte. When I was in college in Mechanicsburg, I visited Juice and Java regularly with one of my close friends. It became a staple of my time living in Central Pennsylvania, and every time I come back to visit, I always stop by! This is a cute little cafe with lots of choices for both food and drink. They have wraps, paninis and salads, all of which are generous portions with fresh, quality ingredients. They also offer a large selection of smoothies and specialty coffee drinks. My friend usually gets the Green Machine smoothie, and I tend to alternate between the Tea-Licious and Berry Furious. For food, I have tried their salads several times, as well as the California Club wrap. Their freshly baked cookies are amazing, too! I ordered the "Royale With Cheese" burger and a citrus avocado salad, and my friend (who has been there many times and recommended we stop in) ordered their Cuban sandwich. We also had an orange smoothie & a vanilla iced latte. The food, coffee, and smoothie were all BOMB!!! I could have used a little more cheese on the burger, but i appreciated their unique take on a burger and would definitely order it again. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, i notice and appreciate how professional & appreciative their team was. Simple things like saying "thank you" to each customer, and then telling us, "we really appreciate you guys coming in!" are things that add to the experience AND demonstrate that these owners & staff take great pride in their business. The challenge here is consistency. Sometimes it is good and other times it's just mediocre. Outside of the food, smoothies and coffee is this fanatical need to play news, talk shows, true crime or satellite music too loudly. If you are going to roll the dice, eat a chocolate chip cookie, or cinnamon roll. The Godfather with jalapeños is good. Walnut strawberry salad is good. Breakfast in general is weak. I spilled 3 smoothies outside on my way out and went back in to kindly inform the staff that it happened, only to be met with "you can't get another unless you pay for them". I NEVER EVEN ASKED FOR ANOTHER ONE. I had an entire smoothie spilled down my front and it was at the front entrance and I was simply informing them that it happened at the front door. I was delivering for doordash and needed to take the order to a customer. I understand not remaking the drinks (although not really because ANY business at least offers that) but they didn't even offer me a napkin to clean up, nothing. The staff was extremely rude.
