I was on a hunt for an açaí bowl from an east end shop. The shops I have tried (and crave) are a destination drive for me and I was curious if something was closer to home. A search for "açaí bowl" did not show me Juice Bar, but "smoothie" did. An online menu and ordering is available. I paid, picked a time and drove over for curbside. Juice Bar is tucked into an outdoor shopping center and easier seen from the road than inside of the parking lot. For reference, it sits next to Blaze Pizza. I pulled into a spot marked for curbside and checked in from the email confirmation I received when ordering. The store is open for walk in orders and takeout. The bowls come is only one size, about $10. I ordered the basic açaí bowl with bananas, strawberries, chia seeds, almond butter, granola and a drizzle of honey. It hit the spot and I especially love the portion of almond butter. Now that I know Juice Bar exists in my area, I'll be stopping by again. read more

I needed something healthy before hitting the road on a recent road trip as I was making a pit stop in the Middletown area. Found this Juice Bar, checked in on Yelp--and noticed a "reward" coupon of $1 off. The woman working the counter had been unfamiliar that they had such an offer but recognized what it was and honored it--that's pretty important, as I've had some businesses refuse to honor their own marketing promos via Yelp in circumstances where they were unaware they had that offered. So thank you! She had my drink ready by the time I got back from a quick trip to the rest room and kindly let me know (as I was still tired from my previous evening and would have likely sat in a daze trying to wake up as the ice in my kale/power green juice slowly melted). I'm obsessed with the ginger greens. It is sweet, spicy and healthy for you. A small is about $7 and a large is about $9. Service is fast and easy. I used to go to the one off Hurstbourne but it closed down so this is my new spot. read more

Eh...these aren't bowls but smoothies with garnishes. A bit disappointed as I wanted a breakfast bowl and not smoothie. Since we also ordered smoothies...so you could say we had a lot of smoothies for breakfast. These bowls need a thicker base or a different base all together. The bowls are literally smoothies in a bowl. Pros: 1) They did taste fresh. 2) flavor combos are good. 3) Ingredients were all fresh. No brown spots on bananas and or rotten fruit. Cons: 1) Yes there is fruit blended in the smoothie part but there's not a lot of "bowl" to it. They people here are always so great! It seems like I go at least once a week. Everyone is kind and helpful! You can do little combo deals with a juice and food item. I looove their smoothies. Tasted clean and healthy the way I expected! I had to take off a star because this place is just way too expensive. The "large" was not that big and was over $10- seems a little outrageous to me. I wish this place was a little more affordable, or at least offered a punch card with a free or discounted beverage at the end. While what they offer tastes great, the customer service is lacking. The Coffee Janet is awesome. I like that I can add chia seeds, avocado, maca, bee pollen, etc., etc. I like to stop in on my way to work, but I might need to change my routine. Through they offer a take out option, they don't always answer the phone. Today I called several times on my way to work so I could pick up my order. No answer. So I asked if they don't answer the phone in the mornings. She told me she didn't hear it ringing. Then the other girl told me, "The phone isn't charged." Huh... Then when they made my smoothie it was wrong. The time before that it wasn't blended correctly. The time before that it was also made wrong. 3 times made wrong, 3 mornings no one answering the phone. I've been a frequent customer for 3 months, and haven't had problems until the last 4 weeks. Thus 3 stars. Given what I'm paying per smoothie compared to the slip ups I'd say 3 stars is generous. read more
