    Margaritas
    Angela R.

A friend and I ate dinner here the other night on a weekday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The setting was a lively & fun atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We both ordered a frozen margarita, which was fabulous! For our meals we both ordered chicken fajitas (single). It was a huge order. They were amazing! The chicken was so flavorful. I had plenty to take home for another whole meal for leftovers. My friend and I could have split a double as she also had about 1/2 her meal to take as left overs. We both had to ask for more flour shells, which they charged $1 each for. I do wish they gave more shells as part of the original order. That said, we will definitely be back! Yum!

Went to Limon y Sal for the first time on Memorial Day for lunch and got seated with no wait. Our server came, was super friendly, and our took drink orders. When he returned we were ready to order food. I ordered the enchiladas de camarones (shrimp enchiladas), and I ordered my son the grilled chicken and cheesy rice kid's meal. The shrimp were described as being "cooked with tomatoes, which was fine... until my plate came out and I started cutting into them. The entire enchiladas were nothing but tomatoes with a couple chunks of shrimp in each one. I say chunks, meaning one shrimp cut into 3-4 pieces. Between my 3 enchiladas, there were roughly 4 total shrimp altogether, the rest just giant slices of tomato. It was unbelievable and so disappointing, especially for $15. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was good, service was good, but my actual food was awful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but still won't make a trip back considering how many other high-quality Mexican options we have.

All was great. You have to come try it. Drinks were awesome. Staff are very friendly. I got very full. Awesome awesome flavors.

Got a table in a fast manner, very busy because it's Friday night, service was efficient and food quality was fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A little loud a bit because of the table next to us was yelling out at times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This restaurant was packed on a Friday night, but the staff handled the waiting customers fantastically. You can't beat the $4 draft beer specials - both import and domestic beers. They definitely have the best margaritas in town! Would definitely recommend the tamales and the chili poblanos, but the tacos always hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant can tend to be noisy, but there is the back room and when the weather is nice, the enclosed patio offers a quieter experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We stopped in to the St Matthew's location for brunch today and it did not disappoint! The highlight for me was the mimosa flight I was expecting smaller cups, but to my surprise it was 4 regular sized mimosas! I had pancakes and a side of bacon which were all delicious as well. Our server was friendly and the food was out so quickly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio was great and didn't feel cramped like other patios.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to go back!

I haven't been here in a while but I was excited to come back. I remembered the great salsa and queso at this restaurant and it did not disappoint on my return. The service is fast and our server was so polite. There was never a second where we went without. This was about 6:00 on a Saturday so the service was quick. Limon y Sal is a great addition to your Mexican food list if you haven't tried it yet!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The food, service and ambiance is a Top Tier experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is freshly made..like stove to table lol! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have outdoor seating and they bring out igloo's as well that they bring out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a new space coming to St. Matthews. 3900 Shelbyville Rd. Love, Love, Love this place!

What a fantastic experience! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior looked great but the weather was so nice we ate outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ended up splitting a meal because the portion sizes are so big. Every single thing just tasted sooooo good. We had little wait and service was prompt and friendly. Definitely a new favorite spot for us.

Is steak soft taco different than carne asada street taco? When we ordered steak soft taco few weeks ago it was carne asada which was so delicious. So we ordered two more times it looked different. No lime and cilantro. Are they different?

Sorry idk I can't get past ordering the carnita's. You may want to try them.

Do they use fresh fruit for their drinks like for the pina colada and margs or it mixed?

Yes they did. Margarita's & limes with our pitcher of Dos Equis

Are there gluten free options here?

Any corn tortilla options are gluten free, and they have a lot of those dishes.

I had been wanting to go for quite some time to try the Birria because I heard it is so amazing, and it really lived up to the Hype! Oh, did I mention they have the viral soft serve margaritas!?!?! I got the strawberry, it was so pretty, excellent presentation and absolutely delicious! I will say it was more like a dessert to me and I would have preferred to have it after my meal instead if before but that's just me. We got there between 6:30 and 7:00 and it was really busy, luckily our friends got there first and grabbed a table. They had already had a round of drinks while waiting on us but it took a while for anyone to come over to greet us or refill their drinks but again it was busy and everyone was helping everyone. We ended up splitting the birria platter and still had plenty of food to take home which we just ate last night as leftovers and were still absolutely fire!! I think the egg roll and quesadillas were my favorite over the tacos bc I love the melty cheese. I also ordered a small side of queso which was surprisingly a little spicy which I really enjoyed. They even surprised us when my BIL ordered a small margarita and it came out in a fish glass (see photo). It was so unexpected but also so cute at the same time ... it's really the little things like this that bring joy, okay? LOL This place was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to try it again.

We had one small glitch regarding an order, but it was corrected immediately. Food is delicious, fresh, and a great value for quality and quantity. There seems to have been quite a bit of turnover in the last year or so and many of the amazing servers who used to work here are gone. And, the new ones seem to provide the bare minimum of attentiveness. It used to be the case that I came frequently enough that they basically had my order down pat (including my special requests for extra hot sauce). That has been replaced with literally not even getting basic service like a timely water refill. Or, not getting silverware until I asked for it. They tried the buffet for a while (which I never partook in), but around that time the food quality seemed to get worse. They got rid of the buffet, but the food still suffers. On my recent trip, the chips were even gross. The seasoning was bland and the lettuce looked old. ¿Qué te pasó, Mi Casita? Solías ser mi lugar favorito. Me temo que ahora ya ni siquiera te tomo en cuenta para el almuerzo. En fin, lamentaré tu pérdida. Perhaps in a couple years will return to see if anything has changed, but for now, you have lost a one-time weekly or twice a week customer.

Bright colors everywhere, from the outside facade as I entered, to the chairs, tropical plants, the "Azucar!" mural with dangling vines, the dinner plates, the menu, and the food itself. My waiter Pedro was great, and checked on me frequently. In fact all the staff were great, neatly dressed in black, most wearing hats, making friendly greetings as I passed, holding doors, etc. Complimentary bread was brought. It was a good mini loaf, fresh and warm, and accompanied by two compound butters, guava and cilantro. I'm not a butter fan but I did try them for review purposes and they were interesting. The bread also helped extend my appetizer-portion ceviche, soaking up the spicy liquid. The ceviche portion was actually generous for the price and with the bread just what I needed for lunch. Medium-size shrimps in spicy tomato-lime sauce with cilantro, raw onions, micro-greens, and orange-yellow edible flowers on top. Served with tostones instead of the usual chips. These thick fried slices of green plantain were salty, soft in the middle and crispy on the outside, a perfect accompaniment. The outdoor covered patio area was packed with diners, loud with Cuban music in a good way, vines (plastic?) everywhere , chandeliers and straw lampshades on the ceiling, with large fans and a misting device controlling the heat. A small bird visited my table as I ate, politely sitting for a bit on the other chair. A comfortable place where you'd want to hang out a long while if you had the time, which I didn't. I also had a mojito, cold, minty, limey (real limes) and refreshing. A bit sweet to my liking but definitely strong. I love Cuban food, and I wish I could have tried more of the large and intriguing menu. I didn't even get a dessert, just an excellent Café Cubano without sugar (so an espresso really), served in an elegant Victorian-style gilded espresso cup and saucer (see photo). Chipped, but that just adds to the charm.
