We had the daily detox and supa dupa greens accompanied by the strawberry dragon fruit and blueberry açaí vegan donuts. Love this juice/smoothie spot! Prices aren't bad (think $6-$10) and they offer 2 different sizes, 12 and 20 oz. They have a great menu of protein and fruit smoothies as well as really great juice combo's. They even have mini coconuts in which they cut open and blend the meat and milk into the most delicious smoothie ever served in the coconut shell. Looking for a real lunch and not just liquid? I found Juice Generation within walking distance of the Gallivant Hotel. I ordered the Vital Shot which had Ginger, Lemon, and Cayenne Pepper. I felt a little groggy waking up and that helped me get going about my day. The "Get Your Green On" was refreshing. It has Spinach, Kale, Pineapple, Mint, and Apple. It's more on the sweeter side but definitely tasty. I was on the go and the juice kept me full for about 3 hours. I'll be going again. I got the PB Acai bowl - for around $10, it was delicious. A generous portion size (easily can substitute as a post workout meal / heavy snack) topped with peanut butter, banana, and granola. The last one was a pretty intimidating dark green color with a goopy texture, but it actually tasted really good. Each time I've been to this location, the line hasn't been very long, and the service has been very efficient. They're also very understanding of new customers and explain all their menu items really well; they aren't snooty expecting that you know how everything works. I got the mucho mango and let me tell you my friends, it tasted nothing like mango. It was so citrusy my throat was on fire. It's summer, where is the mango at? I don't remember what my friend got but he had the same issue. His drink was supposed to taste more coconutty but it tasted like strawberries. I have been eyeballing juice generation after trying out a smoothie at liquiteria and an acai bowl at Two Hands. After I saw pictures online of the acai bowls, I had to come here and try one to feel healthy. I got the aloha acai bowl topped with big chunks of fresh fruit. I loved the puffed rice which gave a nice crunch to the bitter acai taste. The acai bowl was $10.45 and almost came to $12 after tax. I thought $10.50 was a fair price for the portion but $12 was a little too much. Regardless of price, the acai bowl was delicious and super filling. This location is really nice and small, there are a few high seats to eat or drink your smoothie and go. Also the location is right in the middle of the residential part of the West Village on W 4th, perfect for people watching. I'm a real sucker for anything that tastes delicious and is low in calories. Like other previous Yelpers have mentioned, you can taste the different between the smoothies here and the smoothies at Jamba Juice. Everything here is made of fresh fruits, fruit juice, vegetables, nonfat yogurt and sorbets with no added sugars. They bring in locally grown produce from farms around the area to use in their stores. I'm obsessed with their Tropical Mangosteen smoothie (containing the exotic Mangosteen fruit from Asia that has been banned in the U.S. until recently) and their I Heart Watermelon smoothie with fresh watermelon and the berry trinity (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries). I don't like bananas, but I have tried their Acai Soy Energy and their Smooth Strawberry smoothies and they're both SO GOOD too! Their drinks are always icy smooth and not overly sweet. I never feel guilty about downing an entire 24 oz smoothie, but if you can't finish one, they'll happily split it in half for you and a friend. Definitely my favorite Juice Generation location in the city (vs. West Village and the UWS), and not just because I live 2 blocks away. The guys working here are very friendly, and always accommodating when I ask for small alterations in my smoothies or just a little extra something. I don't usually like to splurge on designer smoothies and juices, especially since I have a Breville juicer and trusty blender at home. But, spending $6 here is worth every penny. Honestly, if I can spend anywhere between $10-$20 for a glass of wine or cocktail, what's $6 for a healthy large smoothie right?! Well, that's what I tell myself anyway... Juice Generation is hands down the best juice/smoothie shop ever because they not only offer cold and hot drinks, but also yummy sammies, salads and soups. Unlike other pretentious overpriced smoothie chains (ahem Jamba Juice) the ingredients here are always fresh and natural. They use agave nectar, juices, soy milk and many types of proteins and supplements for add-in. My favorites are definitely the Mate Zen smoothie, Coco Acai, Mr. Greengenes, Supa Dupa Greens, and the Cold Warrior and Ginger Guru for the hot "blends". I cannot sing enough praises for the Ginger Guru, which is like a beautiful chai latte with ginger. I always ask for more ginger when I get the Mate Zen, Cold Warrior, and Ginger Guru... because trust me, you cannot go wrong with ginger. Just a heads up, their smoothies come in one size at 16 ounces. I think it's actually the perfect amount, satisfying enough to be a meal if you add some soy or whey protein. read more

Somehow they made way too much and offered me the extra smoothie in a cup; So often places will just throw away the excess. One day I will try one of the delicious Cooler Cleanse meals, but I'm always distracted by the smoothies. The negatives? Virtually no seating at this location and (because it's a smoothie place) it's loud. If I'm out and about I have to take my Acai bowl someplace to eat. If you've ever juiced your own green juice with kale, spinach and any variety of fruits, you would find that 16 oz of kale requires a LOT of kale to produce. After trying on my own, I would happily pay the $8 or $9 for one from JG. All of the JG locations tend to be small, but this one is especially tiny. What I love about it is its proximity to MPHC Climbing gym for a much-needed post climb protein boost, and the fact that the staff has always been super friendly. I really love their Kale Kolada (sometimes served in a coconut shell!) and Joyful Almond. I like getting the Joyful Almond without agave. Any shake with bananas or other fruit in it is always sweet enough for me without agave needed. While I love the taste of the Coco Acai shake, I really cannot justify 50g of sugar! I stay away from the Acai bowls for the same reason, although if you're looking to try one, Aloha Acai and Amazing Green bowls are slightly lower in sugar than the others. The vital shot was good but the smoothie was poorly blended, bland, and contained far too many pieces of a pit or seed of some sort to dismiss. The staff was kind so that earned them the 3 stars. There's no where to sit so make sure you're planning for a little grab and go situation.
