This is our second time ordering an Acia bowl here since moving to the area and due to how good the first one was we wanted to go back but was disappointed. The presentation looks nothing like the photo they advertise or our very first bowls (see photos.) I have been visiting Juice it Up for several years now as an occasional treat for myself. During my most recent visit I tried their lychee smoothie where I was told they used a syrup for the flavoring instead of actual fruit. I am super disappointed with this as I thought all their smoothies were made with natural ingredients. It makes me wonder if all their smoothies are like this? At $7 for a small smoothie I would honestly have expected more. The staff here are always very friendly and the space is kept clean which is why I give this place at least 3 stars. I found it to be quite slow, not the friendliest staff nor even a smile- which makes it less welcoming. My bowls and smoothies are sometimes runny but when made correctly so good! Juice It Up is one of my favorite places in Oregon to get an acai bowl and definitely the best on the west side of Portland. The bowls are always fresh and the topping options let you customize your bowl to your liking. On a couple of my recent visits I noticed that which employee makes your order can determine how full your bowl is and how much of each topping it comes with. When I receive a bowl that isn't as full as normal, it is a little disappointing because it's not like it's cheap. The friendliness of the employees is hit or miss. Sometimes they are friendly and welcoming, other times it seems like everyone is unhappy to be there. Regardless, I will keep coming here because of the delicious bowls and smoothies. read more

Came in on Sunday, April 28 about an hour before they closed. As the girl who worked there put the base into the first bowl, we noticed it filled the container less than half way. We asked if she could put more in the container and she said she couldn't fill it past the letters on the container. The base of our bowl was definitely below the letters on the container. Only 3 toppings are included and my daughter chose strawberries as one of them. With my daughter only receiving 3 slices of strawberries, we had asked for a few more slices of strawberries. The worker said she was not able to give us more strawberries as they were in the back and needed to be cleaned. We did get a good amount of cacao nibs, but everything else was definitely scarce! read more

I have visited this location of Juice It Up! a few times because it is conveniently located near my home and I like their products. They sell raw and blended juice drinks, smoothies, wheatgrass and ginger shots, customizable fruit bowls and even pretzels. Everything I've ordered has been very tasty and refreshing. Most days when I've visited there seems to be one person serving customers and one person prepping fruits. This arrangement may work most of the time but it wasn't working too well today. When I came in there were already a few people waiting for orders. About half a dozen people came in while I was waiting for my drink. Some of them left because they grew tired of waiting. Seeing a potential customer walk out the door is not good because sometimes they never return. The lady who was making the drinks was trying her best to keep up with the orders but she looked overwhelmed. I kept wondering why the other worker wasn't asked to help make orders instead of prepping until they were caught up. The lady making orders gave several of us an upgrade in the size of our drink and apologized for the wait. This was good customer service. There is some limited seating inside and outdoor seating when the weather is nice. One thing that did bother me today was the fact that the worker prepping fruits had long hair that was hanging loose instead of tied back. After a week of overindulgence for my Bday I decided to give my gut a rest and do a 3 day cleanse. I walked in and was greeted right away. Not knowing what I wanted and this being my first legit much needed cleanse, I grabbed a flyer and read the menus very carefully. The very informative owner explained everything to me and gave me some great suggestions. We worked out the cleanse that I was looking for and decided on a time to pick up my freshly juiced items daily. They open early at 6:30 am until 9 pm so you can work around your work day to pick up your items. I'm so happy to have found this juice spot so close to home. Super friendly and informative employees and a very clean store. They even gave me words of encouragement and empowerment to stay strong for the duration of the cleanse. Im almost finished with my first 32oz juice as I'm writing this review. It's very tasty and easily palatable. I'll definitely stop by this place even when I'm not doing a cleanse since they have a variety of healthy juices and great choices. They have gift cards available for the juice lovers in your life. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place. I checked them out online first and I love the fact that they have all of their nutritional facts on their website. We always order the same two smoothies: Strawberry Wave® and Mango Mania™. I love the strawberry smoothie and my boyfriend only orders the mango one because that's the only flavor he likes. In my opinion the Mango Mania™ lacks major flavor, you can faintly taste the mango and that's about it. But, my strawberry smoothie is a deep red and packed with flavor. I scanned the menu and quickly ordered an Ever Green (Kale, spinach, apple juice blend, lemonade, lime sherbet, pineapple sherbet, pineapple). Looks healthy until you look closely enough to see that there's SHERBET in this thing. You're basically drinking a milkshake. A large is 540 calories. D'oh! Anyway, it was tasty (as a milkshake should be) and the employees were very friendly and chipper. I'm disappointed with my most recent experience here, mostly because my first visit a few years back was so great. My boyfriend and I walked in early evening and weren't greeted or acknowledged by any of the employees besides a quick glance. We spent a minute or two looking at the menu, and the girl at the front kind of just went and did her own thing until we were ready to order. It didn't feel particularly welcoming but at that point I didn't mind. We ended up getting a bowl to share and she asked us if we wanted any toppings. At this point there was a little miscommunication/confusion because we had missed the little note at the top of the bowls menu that said up to three free toppings of your choice were included, so we just got strawberries for the topping. She asked if we wanted any others, and when we asked her how many were included with the bowl, she clarified that none were and that we were able to choose them. (Which led to further confusion on our side.) Then I asked how many free toppings we were able to get, which is when she pretty obviously rolled her eyes before answering. I understand that we missed the note on the menu and were confused, but I feel like the eye-rolling was really disrespectful and I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. I had gotten a DoorDash order at this place and as I'm walking in I noticed this girl standing in the back working and she barely had a shirt on and you could almost see her breasts. Know No as a customer and as a DoorDash driver I find that very unprofessional for an employee. There are children that go in to that store and as a mother I know no mother wants to have a young child be exposed to nudity especially at that young age very disappointing I will be passing along the message that the employee is there don't wear much clothing. read more

Was super excited to see this right by my work. A little acai bowl should give me enough motivation to slog through a 10 hour shift. Little unfortunately is the operative word here. It took awhile for said acai bowl to be made, and there seemed to be some confusion as to how to make the bowl. In all fairness I asked them to sub in soy milk for the apple juice blend, but it seemed like a easy enough request. Workers are super friendly so I chatted away with one. I was a bit dismayed that the bowl was fairly small as mentioned and had little to no toppings- some bananas, honey, granola and that's pretty much it.. It was perfectly fine but for the price point (I think I paid $7.95 or so), I wanted more. So glad I live in PDX where there's lots of acai bowl options close to my hood. If I'm desperate enough for one before work I would definitely think about stopping by Juice It Up again, otherwise I'll get my carb load close to home.. These burb strip malls can be confusing (i.e. monotonously all similar in appearance), but its located in the same cluster as Mod Pizza. Gotta love the burbs?? read more

This was our first trip here and we were quite skeptical since juice bars we've visited have been hit or miss. I think we have found our new juice bar! I ordered the Detoxifier and it's delicious. Now, I can sit here and complain about the price of the drinks but I won't. I look at it as paying for the convenience. If you're going to complain about it, you might as well juice at home.
