I was craving an açaí bowl and stumbled upon JP on my way to my haircut appointment.. JP offers a variety of delicious options: protein shakes, falafel wraps, pitaya bowls. I decided on the acai bowl consisting of blueberries, flax and added three toppings of chocolate chips, coconut shavings and granola. Of course, it came out fresh and delicious. I love acai as a healthy alternative for having a light breakfast but not ready for lunch quite yet. This JP is quite small but had a couch to eat on the premises. The service was friendly and clean. Earlier this week, I walked into a Juice Press on an early morning walk to work. It was pretty cold outside, and I was looking for a kind face and a hot beverage to warm me up. I found Christina working at the counter there; she was gentle and welcoming. Christina took her time with me and recommended a hot chocolate, based on my stated preferences. Then, she proceeded to make me a ridiculously good hot chocolate (with an oat milk base). It was delicious! And, as someone who used to train and manage others at a big vegan juice company, I must say that her juice fridges looked great! They were so well-organized. I have included photos here. So happy I found this quaint organic vegan juice place. There's a few of them around town but I've never been to one. This place has an impressive array of options ranging from healthy salads and hearty soups to invigorating smoothies, rejuvenating juices, and indulgent acai bowls. It was a paradise for anyone seeking a nutritious yet delicious meal. Service was great ...I had a hard time deciding...but. ended up opting for the Blue Magic Bowl with oatmilk instead of almond, I decided to add a drizzle of coconut syrup for a touch of sweetness. With the sweltering heat outside, the bowl melted rather quickly, but the flavors were exceptional. The blend of fresh fruits, crunchy granola, and the creaminess of the base left me wanting more. The only downside? I wish this place was in the Bronx. If I were going right back to the Bronx I would have purchased so much more. I personally love Juice Press - what can I say. Geez, it took years after moving from L.A. for NYC to catch up to healthy eating habits and it's so plentiful now, it's beyond wonderful. I had a good experience coming in for some fuel while running errands in the Upper West Side. This juice press is a super small location, so it's really meant for a quick stop and pick up. There are also several fridges stocked with items you can grab and go if you don't have time to wait for a fresh smoothie or bowl blend. I came in without any time to grab lunch, so I wanted something tasty and filling and decided to go with the Green smoothie because it seemed healthy and also included a nut butter as a good filler. It ended up being tasty and a perfect energizer to sip on while walking and running between errands. I will say $11 is pretty steep for a small smoothie, but this does seem to be a standard price in the city. read more

I was trying to be healthy and came here to grab my food for the day before work. Don't get me wrong, the Raw Ravioli tasted great when I was eating it. But two hours later, I found myself hurling it (at work :-/) and having to rush home to nap and get better. I've heard Raw places often leave their food out when prepping slough it's very sensitive. If you come before 12 PM on a Sunday and tag a workout photo with #willrunforjuice or #jprunningclub or #juicepress, you'll get a free juice (which is fantastic b/c they retail for $10.) Cute little small place for your grab-and-go. My favorite flavor is the mint chip protein shake; it has an amazing texture from the cacao nibs and will leave you feeling refreshingly full. The only drawback is this place is really expensive...but I guess if you go for enough Juice Press Running Club free juices, it all balances out (or that's what I tell myself...) read more

Here's the thing: Juice Press is the best! Their product is incredible and unmatched. Their marketing is vegan centric with a sense of humor. (Check out their little pamphlets. Hilarious!) Unknown to some, they even have incredible soups!!! I love this place and shop here very frequently at many of their locations throughout manhattan. So why only 3 stars? 2 main reasons: 1) on more than 1 occasion I have purchased a juice that was already expired based on the expiration date printed on the bottle. Didn't realize until i was already home. One time i went back the next day and they simply exchanged it for me. I honestly thought I should have been given a refund or given 2 since I went home with a bad one so I was unable to drink it then had to go back again the next day. All because they had expired product on their shelves? Another time I didn't notice the date was wrong and found out the hard way: tasted terrible!!! Then checked the date and it was 2 days overdue. Had just been purchased so I walked back in. Again, it was simply exchanged. No real apology just "oh sorry just grab another one" as the response. Like "no big deal we sell rotten juice all the time just grab another one and check the date this time thanks!" How about: "I'm so sorry that happened to you! Please allow me to refund your order while I also replace this juice with a fresh one. Thanks so much for letting us know! We will double check our stock to make sure they are all fresh." Then the most recent time I bought a juice to drink for breakfast on my way to the airport in the morning and it too was expired ... unable to get a replacement since my flight left before they opened in the morning - had to eat that $11 myself :( leaving a different kind of bad taste in my mouth. At $11 per bottle of premium juice I do not think it is the responsibility of the customer to check the inventory to make sure it's fresh before purchasing. They are running a high end establishment and they should maintain their inventory accordingly. If it happened once in a blue moon I would NOT be putting it in a yelp review but it is clear to me that there is a pattern here and after 3-4 times it really starts to feel like you're being taken advantage of. 2) customer service: again premium product at premium prices should be accompanied by premium service. That is rarely the case at JP. Frequently I'll be standing at the counter with 2-4 employees around talking without even acknowledging me. I worked many years in restaurants and a simple "hello! I'll be right with you" can buy you a LOT of patience with customers. Of course eventually someone always comes over to ring me out but to have to wait for employees to finish up conversations just so you, the only customer in the whole store at the time, can pay is always frustrating. One time it was clearly near closing time and everyone was so busy cleaning that nobody came over to ring me out. I had to walk over to the smoothie stand and say "hi can someone ring me out please?" "Hi! Does anyone here want to take my money?!? please?!!" Is always how it feels as a customer. This is not to say all my interactions are poor. I've also had many good ones and I still frequent these establishments. But on a quality control and customer service level they have quite an opportunity to improve. read more

I visited the location at 77th and Amsterdam on 2/23/22 at approx 6pm. The counters were filthy. There were lids inside the blenders with product in it. The girl had these super long fake nails - I don't know how she cleans herself nevermind caring about the cleanliness of the place she serves food from. She only used one glove, with the other hand ungloved. I watched hard and didn't see any attempt at washing hands. The one glove she did have was caked with old smoothie. SHE USED HER HAND TO SCRAPE OUT SMOOTHIE FROM BLENDERS INTO CUPS!!! When she took it off, she didn't even throw it away! She placed it on the food prep area. I thought it was ok because the guy made most of the smoothies. My bad and I'm so mad at myself for choosing to go forth. Here's where it gets good: my son spent the last 24 hours vomitting and having diarrhea. He had the typical progressive GI symptoms last night. So either he got it from the packaged oatmeal he had earlier(NOT), or from exposure to the massive amounts of e. Coli. residing under this girl's fingernails. I called DOH and made a sanitation and infectious disease complaint. I'm soooo upset I didn't trust my instincts. I should have protected my poor kiddo from this. This place is gross and we will never go back. Please trust this review!! There are too many places in NYC that offer clean food. I hope this review helps someone!! read more

Most expensive juice I have bought in my life. LOL. So, I was desperately trying to find a juice bar and this was the nearest one. The shop is sort of organized in an L shape with the juices in the refrigerators (all the juices are premade) on one end and the cashier on the other. I like the deco, made me feel very eco-friendly and there is basically no room inside to chill down except for a bench. So, I actually didn't know the price until I checked out because there was no signs on the fridge. The price is printed very small on the label and dang it was 10.99. By that point, I sort of had to buy it and did so... Since it was 10.99 I was hoping it would taste amazing and it was sort of too veggie tasting for me, got the Love at First Sight. However, the guys there are friendly, got a free shot of another drink and a dried mango! read more

I love this location - and I've been to many of the Juice Presses. Friendly bright eyed staff and I arrived within five minutes of opening because I was helping someone on moving day, and had to be that annoying eager customer who get there close to when they unlock the doors. My friend and I got the delicious avacado sandwich, three Love @ First sight Juices the dating game (date balls) marinated kale salad and my favorite - coffee with black label. JP prices are reasonable. If you understand organic food and drinks and running a business AT ALL you won't come on here whining about price and yes it's whining. Not everyone can afford to drink here I guess. I'm willing to spend my dollars on healthy great tasting juices and food and rent and books. It's worth it. I make the choice to take care of this incredible body temple I've been given and that we've all been given. I'm always healthy and happy and not some fat fu*k depressed emotionally unbalanced moper. Only reason why it's 4 stars is because it's really pricy! The place was rather small/tight as well. We stopped in this place on a hot day when we're dying of dehydration!!! We picked up two cold press watermelon juice. The total ended up being $15!!!! But you know what, NO REGRETS! We tried a few juice places and this by far was THE BEST ONE! So refreshing and tasty! The cramped layout, with the cash register hidden in the back, is not conducive to comfortable shopping - it is difficult to see the products, awkward to get to the register, and there is no room to put your purchases. Furthermore, they run out of many products (probably because of lack of space.) Most of all, the staff that I have encountered have an arrogant and unhelpful attitude - particularly the manager. read more

I go to juice press on average 3 times a week and get the exact same thing. 1) Raw hummus wrap with tahini dressing 2) Kale chips And omg is this a winning combo. The flavor profile of the wrap is so intense and unique, they truly put time and effort into thinking through their blend of spices. I definitely recommend getting the tahini as your dressing choice too, I tried it with the seseme one and it was too strange of a combo. And the kale chips... OH MY GOD. This place is so incredibly bad, my hope is that more people will write reviews and this location will get taken over by one of the other juice bars in town. When they first opened they were great and I didn't mind paying the whooping 12$ to 15$ for a 16 oz juice, but about year ago it all changed: #1 65% of the time the juice is old ... you can taste the difference between fresh pressed and day plus old juice. And all customers should know that once the juice tastes oldish it's lost most of the good stuff you are paying for. On more than three occasions my juice had turned ... two of those were coconut water related items, the other had a lot of dandelion greens. #2 the worst part they throw a fit about taking the juice back ... and I bring the juice in. Once directly after I bought and the guy made this big embarrassing deal of tasting it (he did agree but after making a show of it and saying it was barely bad ..."Really?!" We are paying top dollar with a 1000% markup and this is the treatment. Another time because it was the day before (I'd bought the juice on my way to work and didn't return until late and then left early the next day - they said it was too long. Again, I brought the juice in I know what you're thinking why does she go back there ... because it's 1 block away, on the way to train and the other places are two more blocks in the worng direction. But this last time was the last time. JUST SAY NO to supporting to foul nasty places where the policy is scamming people to pay top dollar for old juice and then serving it up with crappy customer services. read more

Staff is great except when you pay for 4 juices and get 3. Customer Service did there best with management, 4 people in the store when I was there. When I got home only 3 juices, when I asked to have the juice walked over to me - one block away they said there was only 2 people in the store. THIS IS THE MANAGEMENT PROVIDING THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY CAN SO THAT THE CUSTOMER WILL NOT COME BACK. Really, we have choices, why spend $140.00 with you a week when I can get it delivered, where I am valued as a customer. The solution was go back to the store and get the juice or get a refund. Really, you owe me a juice and I can not even think what that will be like when I feel well enough to go back. Went in the store to pick up a green juice on my way to work. It came to $10.99, I handed her $11 and left. As I started crossing the street, the cashier came running out into the street to tell me she couldn't accept my $10 because it was old?! First of all, I just got it from the bank. It was not that old - the edition before the new one. I asked her why, stating it's legal tender. She asked me repeatedly if I had something else. In fact, yes, I did, but I already gave you legal money so I am not going back into the store after you chased me into the street to pay a second time. I was having a rough morning and came in knowing exactly what I wanted to cheer me up... however the cashier/ barista was not having it. No personality. Basically miserable. I am new to the dairy-free, grain-free lifestyle and am so happy to have this place nearby. Yes, it is super expensive at $9 a pop for a smoothie/shake. However, the Nut Butter and Heaven on Earth shakes can literally make my day better so I enjoy them once a week as a treat. Ask for hemp seed protein powder if you are avoiding all grain (comes with rice protein normally.) Employees are friendly and offer free samples. Used to love Juice Press but in a week span I received two rancid (bad) juices that were NOT past the drink by date - I still had a few days left according to the bottle. One was coconut water and the other watermelon juice. When I went to return the coconut water, I got attitude too!
