Good place to grab a halal burger. While I was there the chili wasn't halal, they were nice enough to have a sign that mentioned this too. Not sure about the turkey bacon either. When you order a burger (I got the double burger) request for the halal meat. I am glad that Juicy burger serves halal food, it is a great place to stop on long trips. read more

It's a Sunday night. I wanted to try the Veggie Burger upon recommendation. It was my first time here and also my first time eating burger made of veggies. Not bad at all. It was surprisingly feeling without that burger bloated feelingI typically get en eating a burger. This may be an acquired taste for some due to some of the spices used; I am accustomed to the spices I detected in the burger, so for me it was satisfying. It's worth trying once, especially if you are wanting to try options that are more health conscientious. The staff was friendly. The service from order to finish was less than 5 minutes. Feeling guilty of the way I've been eating, I went here and ordered a double burger with chipotle mayo, grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon ....with out the bun. It's not exactly like a salad like they do at Moo Creamery - i think they call it a wrap. It's terribly messy/ juicy but really delicious. I also got the fried zucchini (vegetable) and a diet coke. In my mind it all balances out. . . The last time I came here, I got the veggie burger (with bun) and the sweet potato fries which were really good, and recommended by a co-worker. That was very good too. If you are ordering to go, be sure to ask for ketchup or ranch for your fries/zuchini, etc, because they won't automatically add that or ask you if you would like that. Even though half the time I order something to go (especially at Flame and Skewers), they forget something, I still forgot to check. Haven't been here in awhile, and things are a little different now. The paper ordering slips have been replaced with laminated cards and dry erase markers. Better for the environment, I think. You still get to write out what you want on your burger, and I like that. I can be as picky as I wanna be and not feel weird about it. I ordered a single burger with fried egg & turkey bacon. It was delicious! The bacon was a little chewy, and when I bit into it, I ended up pulling out the whole slice. It's a very messy burger, but I expected that, and I enjoyed it very much. The onion rings were crunchy and clearly homemade, but a bit too spicy for my taste. I would get fries next time. I really like the they have Diet Dr Pepper. One of my friends ordered the chicken strips and was NOT impressed. He did not finish them. Disappointing. Another companion had a fried egg burger, without a beef patty, and he enjoyed it immensely. He also had sweet potato fries, which he said are the best he's had. A third friend ordered a burger & fries, and when he picked it up, they had forgotten the fries. Was in Bakersfield a few weeks back visiting family and heard about Juicy Burger from them. Went and was very impressed with the cleanliness, atmosphere and food quality. Burgers were what I would expect from a specialty burger place....juicy and flavorful and the both the sea salt and sweet potato fries were wonderful. Ordered $40 worth of food. Was a 35 minute wait for pickup. Got there on time and still had to sit in the lobby for 45 min to get my food. They said one of their fryers was down...ok I get that but all my food was cold. The side dishes were soggy and cold. After we finally got our food we were missing the chili on the fries, a bacon hot dog, and onion rings. Had to wait another 10 min for that. Then instead of an apology for all the trouble I was offered a melted shake that someone else didn't pickup. What a disgrace. I will never come back to this establishment. I had been hearing tons of great things about Juicy Burger and finally had the opportunity to give them a shot. And, I must say that they are as great as everyone has been saying. I really liked the fact that they had so many choices available to customize your burger (or chicken) the way you wanted. They offered everything from the normal toppings (pickles, tomatoes, onions, etc) to the gourmet (mushrooms, grilled pineapple, fried egg, etc). They also had a wide variety of sauces to add as well. You could even opt for your burger in a lettuce wrap rather than a bun. For sides, they offered fresh hand cut french fries, sweet potato fries or homemade onion rings. My son & I both ordered a 1/4 burger. He just got the basic stuff that a 6 year old likes on a burger and french fries. I topped my burger with grilled onions, pepper jack cheese, mushrooms & thousand island dressing and ordered the sweet potato fries. We both went all out and ordered a milkshake to drink. My burger was delicious!! And my son's must have been too...because he left about a bite or 2 left of his. The sweet potato fries were ok, but not great. I sneaked a few of my son's french fries, and they were amazing!! Next time I go, I'm definitely getting the french fries for myself. And the milkshakes were so rich and creamy...almost as good as Rosemary's! I would definitely recommend Juicy Burgers to others. My only complaints are: They didn't have kid's size burger to order, they didn't have our milkshakes ready when our food was and didn't receive them until we were half way through our meal (but they were sooo worth the wait), and that their bathroom was not located inside the restaurant. The fries are a little too salty, but the burgers are great. Service is fast. This place is small so it can get crowded quick. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called in the simplest of orders, a plain hot dog, only the meat and the bun, combo, and when I picked it up it was a hot dog with everything. Hands down, the most delicious burger in all Bakersfield. I was driving from Concord to LA and stopped by Bakersfield, got hungry and gave this burger joint a shot. It seems "Juicy Burger" is under new ownership and they have made a lot of good changes. They got a new burger in their menu called "Tikka Burger". I ordered two with large chili cheese fries on the side. The burgers were well cooked and absolutely delicious, they had a very strong desi touch in them. Bad customer service. The young lady behind the counter had a bad attitude and was unfriendly. She took my order very fast as if she wanted to dismiss me as soon as possible. I asked for the bathroom and when I came back to return the key, she rolled her eyes at me, barely acknowledging me as I set it down on the counter. I couldn't believe it! The service today was horrible! The cashier didn't greet or acknowledge us, when I asked her for the kids menu she pointed at the menu... literally didn't say a word! The same person that took our order sat there staring at the cook prepare our food, not sure if she was hung over or just didn't want to be there. Excellent burger! It is literally "as good as it gets" for their burgers. We got there right when it opened, no lines = everything is fresh + they took their time perfecting the burger. From the soft yet toasted bun to the crispiness of the vegetables to the juicy patties, it was one of the best burgers my husband and I had ever had in Bakersfield! The patties was juicy yet the buns weren't soaked/drenched in the juice (unlike some other burger places). The fries/onion rings were alright and they offer both Coke and Pepsi products. One of my favorite lunch spots! I have tried their Tuesday (pastrami), Wednesday (double burger), and Friday (Philly cheesesteak) and they have all been excellent! Plus, the meals are only $6.99 (burger) and 7.99 ( Philly and pastrami), which makes them the best in town for the price! Although my favorite is definitely the double Juicy burger as it literally tastes like something I would make at home! So good and those fries are always hot and delicious! The owner is also very friendly and helpful! Honestly, $7 for a double burger meal with fries and a drink is almost unheard of nowadays and to have it taste this good--- a rare find! When this place first opened I really liked it. It has been going down hill ever since. They don't change the grease the fries are cooked in that often, resulting in the fries tasting like old fish, really disgusting. Prices are too high, $35 bucks for two adults meals and two kid meals, and one of the adult meals was a burger by itself.
