The initial experience here was pleasant because I had spent over $300 plus tip altogether for one piercing, they were friendly, yet again these were not the same staff as today. I came in today for a follow-up because of an infection/flare-up, a cyst from the daith piercing received back in May. This time around I had my 6 year old with me. The business had a fan in the corner. My kid had a paper airplane in his hand at the time, so naturally, he gravitated towards the fan. The owner came out from the back very annoyed and told me to get my kid, not the exact wording, nevertheless, when my son could not sit still, being that we were waiting to be seen. Finally, I was conversing with the lady at the desk about my concerns, the owner returned from the back, full force, and rudely snapped at my son. I did not feel welcome and felt very uncomfortable. I still tried to be cordial with staff, who also came off as condescending, defensive, and bothered with my questions. Customer service at this place is amazing!! I got a flat and daith piercing, and was helped by Boge. She made my experience very comfortable with her extremely friendly personality. I absolutely love this place. My friend and I went together. I got my nose pierced, my friend got a double helix. Kat was the one that helped us and she was AMAZING!!! So friendly, knowledgeable, patient, walked us through every single step and she made the piercing process quick and pretty much painless. Almost 24hrs later and my nose is doing just fine. Blown away by my overall experience for the following reasons: 1. Website - There is so much information (staff, prices, FAQs, products they sell, aftercare, etc..) online that I didn't even need to call in to get any of my questions answered. 2. Appointment - They take appointments online, which is always my preference since I can make the appointment at my convenience, whenever and wherever I want. 3. Safety protocols- I really appreciate how seriously they take the safety of their staff, and their guests. Not only do they require full vaccinations, they also limit the number of guests you can bring so that it isn't overcrowded. 4. Amazing customer service - Everyone was so easy and fun to talk to, but also very professional and knowledgable. Just wanted to give 5 stars for the two ladies that work here! I didn't get their names but thank you to both of them for being so kind, friendly, and funny. It's very clear that everyone that works here is educated on piercings and I love that they educate you on them as well if you're new to things. All the employees are extremely welcoming and kind, even the owners are kind. If you ever have questions a call is all you need they always answer the phone and never rush the call. Sometimes they get really packed and busy and you can hear in the background but they still stay on the phone to answer any questions you have or just stay on to just chat with you. Super clean and sterile, they may be pricey to some people but you do get what you paid for. They are thorough with cleanliness and they go over all the after care you need. UPDATE: I got a call from Robert apologizing for the situation. I really appreciated the JulHead team taking the time to explain why they were unable to provide service and clearing the air. Like I mentioned, this was just one bad experience out of a few great ones. Great customer service is also owning up to mistakes! We all have bad days. The bad taste in my mouth is gone lol, will be returning in a few months to switch out my nose ring! After a few good experiences here, I am sad to say I had a bad experience today. I booked an appointment to purchase a hoop to replace my nostril piercing which had been pierced 4 months ago. I went in and Boge told me it was too soon to change to a hoop and I had to wait until 6-8 months which is completely understandable. What I thought was rude and unprofessional was when I asked if I could have my deposit back she simply said no. I then asked if my sister could take my appointment slot and get a piercing she also said no because "the appointment was for jewelry replacement not a piercing" which I guess makes sense but she made no effort to accommodate her customers. No where on the website does it specify how long to wait before changing out a piercing. If she had a better attitude or been more apologetic then I would feel different but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I've came in here a few times with friends and we always have such a great time. The staff here is definitely the reason we come back. They are professional and talented, AND they know how to have a good time while doing a great job. I want to start this off by acknowledging the excellent customer service I have been provided during my last two visits here. I am not trying to personally attack or blame the employees at this shop. Unfortunately, shortly after my last visit, my piercing became seriously infected - a first for me! I have had multiple cartilage piercings. I always follow the post-care instructions meticulously. I am a medical professional with a thorough understanding of antiseptic technique and the importance of following these instructions. Piercings should not be taken lightly! My piercing had to be - extremely - painfully removed, drained and treated with multiple antibiotic regimens. See the pics! Yuck. Again, the employees may have used proper technique and I do not wish to bring any of them down. However, I find it highly unlikely that I exposed myself to a source of infection, especially considering I take time off from work after my piercings to reduce risks for exposure. Keep in mind other factors exist beyond employee technique such as proper sterilization with autoclave equipment used by the facility. Considering this, it's important for other clients to see this review. read more

I made an appointment for 7 and it was a bit packed, despite having an appointment I ended up being taken in to do the piercing around 8 ish. All the time leading up to being pierced is you choosing your jewlery, signing the legal stuff that says you know what you're getting yourself into, and waiting. The staff is extremely pleasant! They are extremely welcoming, funny, and helpful. It truly feels like a safe space to ask questions and settle some concerns you may have about getting pierced. They also offer free water bottles which is a huge plus if you get thirsty during the wait! I was pierced by Kat who was so nice and really calming! She helped me with my breathing and was overall just a pleasant person to have impale me honestly lol. After she was done and the earrings were in she went over cleaning and I was on my way (after paying of course). I got a standard lobe piercing which costed 80$ because of the jewlery I chose which was a titanium 16 gauge earring. As I said above, before you get the piercing you choose the jewlery you would like; if you have metal allergy concerns just ask what their recommendation is and they will direct you to earrings that are safe for you or generally a better choice. Overall I am super pleased with my experience here and will definitely come back if I ever feel like getting another piercing! read more

First, I'll address my previous review. I shared my opinion of what I personally believe to be a ridiculous requirement for getting a conch piercing. The review is still up and the content is unedited from time of posting. I didn't expect anyone to agree with me and it's simply MY opinion. I thought that was that but how wrong I was. The bottom line is: I disagree with it, the business is WELL within their right to refuse service, and I am well within my right to have an opinion about it. I did not attack the services, I did not attack the owner or employees, and I did not make any false claims about anything I didn't experience first-hand. Unfortunately, the business owner doesn't seem to handle criticism well at all and responds with personal attacks to anyone who dares try. You don't have to take my word for it, just take a look at their responses to other negative reviews, most of which are perfectly reasonable. As for the visa comment, the Chinese consulate requires a passport and a short application for a visa, plus a copy of your itinerary at best. They don't require a birth certificate to prove a minor is indeed the child of an adult sharing the same last name. If this shop REALLY wants to be sure of familial relation, they ought to ask for a DNA sample, then there will be no doubts whatsoever. The same day I posted my review, the owner, Robert V. responded and at least one other employee, Kat B., voted "Funny" on my review. I know y'all think you're laughing at a review but... you know it just gives a Yelper more votes right? Keep at it. A third account with one 1-star review, who has also gone through voting "Funny" on negative reviews for this store yet never wrote a positive review for them, sent me a message claiming to have received great service from them under the same circumstances and ranted a bit about how "all races (Non-American like yourself) and genders". WAIT, stop. First, American isn't a race dear, educate yourself. Second, why you bringing race and gender into this? Coincidentally, this person shares a name with someone associated with the business owner, and it's against Yelp ToS to leave a review for a business you're affiliated with. The following day, I received another message from a Ms. Maricela V., who also coincidentally shares the same name, same last name, with a relative (mom? "Cool Aunt"?) of the business owner, copy/pasted as follows: "WoW! Your reviews are ridiculous! You review businesses without actually going to them and using their services. Who the hell do you think you are!? You are the type of garbage that has made Yelp lose its credibility. I work for Yelp and co-workers and myself included can't stand you...go away. And go ahead and reply, i know you will, because you have no real friends or an outlet to actually vent to" I highly doubt the Yelp employee claim is true though honestly, I'm hoping it is because I can't see Yelp taking lightly employees who portray them in a negative light AND bash them in the same paragraph. I stopped by because my opal piercing had fallen out and I needed to get a new one before the hole closed up. The person who helped me was honestly one of the highlights of my day, they had such an incredibly positive attitude and made awkwardly trying to figure out what I needed with a mask on easy and fun. No matter if you're hella nervous, they will put you at ease. The couple times I've been, it's been nothing but a positive and comfortable experience each and every time. They sterilize their single-use needles, tools, and jewelry of your choice at the time of your appointment. Right before you get poked they'll provide you with a sterilization strip that shows everything's been sterilized. How can you tell? The strip turns black. Piercing prices are fair but it also depends on the jewelry you choose. The fancier the piece, the more it costs. Make sure to take care of your new piercings (it's not that hard) and you won't have any problems. After care instructions are conveniently provided along with info on your piercing and jewelry size/type of metal. Also, they're pretty popular so they're always busy. Everyone here is amazing!!! I got my nipples pierced and was told 6 months to heal. Only one month in, I kept getting caught on sheets/clothes and requested to get them changed into a shorter stud. Even though it's been ~8 months since I'd gotten it pierced, he advised me not to get a hoop yet and to instead get a shorter earring. Their selection is super cute! Just a bit on the pricier side, but he didn't try selling me the more expensive pieces and helped me stick to my budget. He was also super patient when I couldn't decide on which one to get, acting as a style advisor and giving me a bunch of different options to hold up to my ear. Once I chose an earring (titanium, ~$50), he sterilized it and helped me switch mine out, free of charge. If you pay with card though they do give you an option to tip! THE BEST PIERCING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. where do i begin? maybe with the reservation that i made, or maybe the how accommodating the workers were with me and my friends. all in all, if i was to get any other piercings again, i will ONLY come back to this tattoo shop. we originally made 4 appointments but cancelled two of them. when we got to the shop, i decided to get my piercing and they were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. i've had piercings before and the healing process afterwards was difficult. THIS experience is so different. after getting my piercing, my friends and i felt no pain, no irritation, nothing. i expected it to be a little irritating or bothersome, but it's been a week and still nothing!! i can honestly say that Kat made the experience amazing. she made all of us feel super comfortable and eased all of our worries and answered all the questions that we had about aftercare. they even give you a free 6-week after-care kit that you can use to clean your piercing. i even changed one of my earrings and bought one at the shop because you can get 10% off with a yelp check in. read more

I usually don't give yelp reviews but I wanted to share my horrific experience. I got a helix piercing on a Sunday and at first, it was doing rather well. However, I started getting a red swollen ear Tuesday night. I went to the doctor on Friday and she prescribed me with antibiotics and told me to take it out ASAP. I was told not to take it out and give it some time... and so I did. On Monday, I went to see the doctor again and the antibiotics didn't help at all. My ear was still swollen and at that point, I had an abscess in my ear. I ultimately decided to take it out and continued my antibiotics. On Wednesday, I went to the doctor again and it got a little better. However, I ended up going to the ER and getting it drained out. It was the WORST experience of my life. I am now taking 2 sets of antibiotics. Thankfully I took it out in time or else my ear will be permanently deformed. I don't plan on coming to this shop ever again. read more
