I visited Tinta Rebelde with a friend on a Sunday evening. We called ahead of time to ask if they were taking walk-ins and they told us to come right in. I got my rook ($60) pierced by Tes and my friend got her second lobes and a double helix ($40 each so $160) pierced by Boots. They were both friendly and made the experience comfortable, quick, and (almost) painless. I'm extremely upset and disappointed, I got my first tatto here in 2022 which was a great tatto so I decided to come back this past December 2024 for a color fill up of a lotus flower tatto I had and my back is basically ruined, the colors do not cover anything and they are extremely un-even. The owner of the shop himself did it witch gave me such a high expectancy before paying and it was just disappointing because as I was explaining what I wanted, he was just extremely distracted and joking around with his co-worker. I got my earlobes pierced four weeks ago by Max. It was my very first piercing, so I went in feeling anxious and scared. Max was extremely helpful and patient, and he carefully explained to me the process. He was thorough, gentle, and always made sure to give me a heads up before doing anything. He also made sure to fully sanitize any equipment he used, and he let me know that the earrings are made of surgical grade stainless steel. Unlike my expectations, there was minimal pain and everything went smoothly! Max made sure to explain to me all the aftercare tips, and he was very attentive to my questions/concerns. Thanks to Max, my first piercing experience was exceptional! After four weeks, I noticed something weird about the earrings I had which was irritating my ears. I went back and spoke with Max, and he was so helpful and attentively listened to my concerns. Without hesitation, he went ahead and switched my earrings to a new set. I loved both of my experiences with Max. I love that he is always willing to help and is ready take responsibility for anything (earring malfunction is supplier's fault, not his). Came here on a whim during my lunch break while serving Jury Duty. Been wanting to get a cartilage piercing for a while now but was scared off with a horrible experience that I had at Jul Head that left me with a terrible infection and a permanent ear defect. But I decided to bite the bullet. Walked in around 1pm and they told me the cartilage piercing was $30 including the jewelry. After showing my id and signing the consent forms they took me to the back room where they marked my left ear with a marker. I didn't have a hair tie and they were kind enough to give me a new one so I could tie my hair back. My piercer kept marking and adjusting the placement until I was satisfied and was very thorough in making sure that I liked where it was before piercing it. The actual piercing didn't hurt too bad, probably a 4/10 pain wise. It was pretty quick, most of the time was spent adjusting the mark. After the piercing, I bought a wound care spray for $6, which I definitely think was worth it. It's very convenient and cheaper than online. It's super convenient because it's a spray, best piercing solution I've ever used. Overall I definitely recommend this place for piercings!! read more

I called Tinta Rebelde, the guy on the phone was friendly & answered all my questions they offer jewelry removal for $20 dollars, they sit you down in what looks to be a pretty sanitary environment & walk you through & explaining everything step by step. Over all the piercing experience was great the guy at the front desk that does the piercings, helped me out, beginning to end, super friendly. I did encounter some issue with a female artist, when she screamed "come do your job" DURING MY APPOINTMENT and The piercer, Emilio, whose name i found out because she was degrading him in a very nonprofessional way pretty loudly, had to excuse himself. I got four piercings at this shop - three in August (second lobes and a helix) and one in September (septum). Both times, TES was very reassuring. He's clearly great at his job: all of my piercings healed perfectly, with the exception of my helix which is still healing, but cartilage piercings take a while to heal so that's expected. Even so, the helix piercing never gives me any trouble. TES is a professional. Prior to getting pierced, he thoroughly answered all of my questions (and I had many, as I LOVE to do research before going in for something, but he didn't seem to mind, and even encouraged me). The process was quick and painless. He also made sure that no blood (let's face it, all fresh piercings bleed a little) got on my hijab when I was getting pierced, which I really appreciated. After my piercing, I was given care instructions and a recommendation to purchase sterile saline spray. They sell NeilMed saline solution for $6, which is very affordable. I prefer the mist nozzle of the NeilMed over the stream nozzle on saline sprays from the pharmacy. The shop has a really fun vibe, and the other artists working there were very nice. I booked my appointment through Yelp's messaging system, and received a response within minutes. Tinta Rebelde is a hidden gem in the heart of DTLA. I'm already planning to get more piercings here soon! read more

I give the artist Megan Castro a 5 star review! I treated my daughter for a tattoo, mind you we've been planning this for some time with the artist. We were super excited to go on our mother daughter outing (tattoo first then dinner lol) Megan did an amazing job HIGHLY RECOMMEND her work. Now for the 3 star review, unfortunately the overall atmosphere wasn't the greatest and I won't be returning for the work I wanted done on my arm. It was obvious the manager Emilio isn't a big fan of the artist (sad) because he didn't want to record her session to post it online. He had some snarky remark saying he was busy running the shop ‍. This made the artist visibly upset and they exchanged some words in front of us which was very uncomfortable. Ultimately it made us feel that what my daughter chose to get tattooed was not worthy of the manger to want to post to their page.. Went in because my nose ring fell out at work, came in as soon as I left to replace my hoop and have the professional put it on. Was quoted 10 for the hoop and 10 for the service. Well piercer couldn't get the ring in my nose said I had to wait to heal because it bled earlier in the day.. Why did I have to pay a service charge for a service you couldn't complete? What service? I would have given this shop a 5 stars if it wasn't for an incident that occurred during my session. during the session Megan requested for Emilio, the guy at the front to post a video for social media. It was a very uncomfortable situation when Emilio seemed reluctant to do it after the artist asked several times. When Emilio finally came out to take the video he has a lot of additive and took like a 5 second video while stating that he's trying to run a shop? still save ur money it's almost a year later got my tongue re-pierced at a different shop and guess what ??!! the bar wasn't extremely long like the one they put when i got it pierced here. it healed perfectly and the pain was 0/10. like i said i couldn't close my mouth properly at all. i was in so much pain i couldn't talk and i kept drooling everywhere because i couldn't keep my mouth closed. not to mention the bar would get stuck on my teeth if i tried to talk or eat. i have a high pain tolerance but i had to take it out because of how much it hurt and how scared i was of chipping my tooth. the bar i got pierced with recently was long enough to allow room for swelling but still allowed me to close my mouth comfortably !!!! read more
