Three floors of yumminess -- come here with an empty stomach!! My fiancé and I came here on a weekday and it was still quite busy, but luckily no lines outside the door like social media has posted (most likely that happens on the weekends, and at the time J&H was still fairly new). We tried a lot of great things but the foods/drinks that stood out to me in our first visit were: 1. June Burgers -- The Lechon Burger (both the Wagyu and the pulled pork were so juicy yet not so greasy -- we didn't get hit with the food coma like most big burgers do) and the Truffle Furikake Fries (the truffle was deliciously strong and the waffle fries had the right amount of crisp! I was very impressed by such a simple side!) 2. Mensch -- Get the Laffa Bread!! Their flatbread is freshly baked in a coal fire oven and parts of it fluff up. You break it apart and dip it into the various dips (labneh, zhough, fresh tomatoes), and just enjoy going to Flavortown in your mouth! For the size and how long it takes (I'm telling you -- FRESHLY baked), this sharable is affordable and so delicious that you actually may not want to share lol. 3. Boxelder -- Their morning breakfast smoothie beer stood out to me because it was a very thick beer like truly a smoothie consistency. I enjoyed its tartness and texture a lot! Unfortunately it is not one of their main beers as they do rotate so it may not be available anymore but I've had the pleasure to try such a unique beer! Everything else was good but these truly stood out as my favorites! I would return again simply because there is still sooooooo much to try! So WHY just 4 stars though? I've spoken great things! Welp, here are some downsides: 1. Some foods are truly overpriced. I don't mind paying more for food quality, but inflation has hit some places hard that even something so simple can cost an arm and a leg. Plus, it's in the heart of Miami and very hyped -- so do expect to budget carefully OR come with a group to share and try more variety. 2. Parking is basically non-existent. You either have to find street parking or park in the expensive lots in front of Bayside. A lot of other local food halls have lots but not here -- so wear sensible shoes for walking. 3. If able, AVOID SKIRTS/DRESSES, especially the very flowy kinds. The major design flaw is that the other floors are clear so you can simply look up and see the crowd walking/sitting above you. You may never know what hungry creeper would see up above soooo if you should wear something flowy, shorts under is highly recommended. It may be very overwhelming with options and crowds, but your best bet is to have a friend or partner find a good spot and someone else order and pick up the food. Drinks are fortunately delivered wherever you are (to avoid spills and liability issues hehe). When we went. There was a live band so it could get a little loud and you might have to do some yelling if you're catching up with someone. But you can also find a few quiet pockets here and there. Brought students here on a field trip. How could I turn down chaperoning a 3 story food court!? lol. The venue is beautiful. All of the niche restaurants intertwining amongst one another, offering so much diversity under one roof. One of the first things I noticed was lack of signage for trash cans. After a bit of walking I noticed there are receptacles in the corner of each floor with napkins & silverware as well. There are attendants walking the floor sweeping and collecting plates and trays. Every so often we were approached by a waiter/waitresses who offered to put in a drink order or to let us know "how the place works". Single stall restrooms. The building was FREEZING. I didn't know if it was because we were arriving just as they had opened (not many bodies in the building) or if it's normally this brick. The kind of cold that makes your food get cold faster which is the worst. I love the fact they've implemented the option for a universal mobile ordering system throughout the building. Here's what I ate: Papa - Parmesan truffle fries. The fries were ok. Definitely loaded with truffle oil and cheese but that's about it. A little overpowering and the container does make them slightly difficult to enjoy with the toppings sitting in the center of the fries. Tacotomia - carne asada tacos (x2 per order) topped with salsa, cilantro & onions. OMG these tacos were so flavorful & delicious! I could have went back upstairs to order two more, they were so tasty and I am a HARD critic of tacos. Black bean tortillas are a unique and tasty touch. This place has a ton to offer. 3 different floors of vendors, and they all use the same glasses and plates. The bartenders were great. Lots of seating, but I can imagine it would be difficult to find a seat on a super busy night. The vendors could use an online ordering, or even trackers to hold till your food is ready. Very pleased with this place! Whether you are craving something savory or sweet you can go wrong with this food hall in downtown. Aside from the ATL vibe you've got an variety of eclectic vendors to satisfy your palate. Seating is I Open to anyone and reusable utensils is a big plus. Came on a Saturday around noon & was not crowded at all. We were able to grab a booth seat on the balcony level. From our seat, we were able to order on our phones. Once the order is ready, you get a text and you go pick up your order. Luckily, it wasn't crowded, but I could see this concept being hectic. Seems like the different vendors are very hit or miss. Some are amazing and some...you need to stay away from. Fried chicken bao buns from Palmar: 5/5, the best thing I ate here. The fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The bao buns were perfectly soft and the sauce was sooo flavorful. It came out to about $15 for 3 buns, which isn't a crazy price for the area. Truffle fries from Papa: 4/5, this place had the kindest workers. Came out to about $8 for the fries. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. I didn't get much of a truffle taste with the fries, and these were not the best truffle fries I've ever had. Salmon avocado hand roll & spicy tuna hand roll from Yabai: 0/5, dont eat here. I think if I hadn't eaten here, I would have had a better experience overall. The fish was not fresh-you will probably get sick. I've grown up eating fresh fish and seafood and as soon as I bit into the fish, I knew I would not be finishing these hand rolls. The nori was also not fresh and you can tell they are not properly making hand rolls. Such a disappointment Overall, there are some places that are a must-try and some that you should just keep walking past. It is a little bit on the pricey side for small portions, but it is also Miami. The place itself is beautiful, but if it is crowded, I don't see myself waiting in line to eat here again. read more

Overall good place, but I'll start with the cons: 1) music is WAY TOO LOUD. I came to eat and have a conversation with my family, not to be in a night club. 2) you can order food on the app, from multiple restaurants at once. The issue with this is that there is not service, you have then to go around the building to pick you up your food and drinks items, and if they are not ready at the same time, some of you items might be cold. Visited J&H over the weekend while at an art exhibition at the theater across the street. From the outside it looks very unsuspecting in a vintage building but inside it's completely different. Much larger in fact! There are THREE stories of a variety of food vendors. While we didn't eat from every vendor we did walk around to check out all of our options and they are plentiful. Any kind of food you can possibly think of is there - amazing variety. I will also note that I was honestly shocked and pleasantly surprised at how wonderful and friendly all of the staff we encountered. Even the staff member who was walking around cleaning up plates and cups from the tables was so incredibly nice. The Alicia - The first bar you get to on the 1st floor. Probably the best mojito drink I've ever had. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. I accidentally spilled my drink due to another patron bumping into me at another food counter and he made me a brand new one for free. We ended up going back for another round after as he was so incredible and the drink was so good. Le boyfriend got their Old Fashioned and said it was also one of the best he's had and "that's how an Old Fashioned should be made"! 10/10 recommend. Cicchetti - This was the bruschetta place on the 1st floor. We tried the capri (my favorite), the Napoli (my second favorite), and the Venezia (not a fan but if you like smoked salmon you'll love it). The staff was wonderful and was so helpful at helping us choose which options to pick. Their food stall was lovely and I loved being able to see them while they prepped the food. 10/10 recommend. Palmar Asian Street Food - On the 3rd floor with all the Asian food. This spot was good, not great. The Mongolian beef while tender and flavorful had WAY too many onions. Like half the dish was onions and they weren't fully cooked. The flavor and quality of the beef was great. We also got an order of Bao Buns. I didn't like that you could only choose one option for the protein inside. I would have liked to try a few others. I think k they need to change it up and charge per bun or let people mix and match them. The shrimp was good but only one shrimp per bun was a bit stingy. Not a lot to it either. 7/10 recommend. Yabai - The hand rolls we got were good but small. We ordered one of the combo rolls; the spicy tuna, salmon avo, lobster and wagu. They didn't charge for spicy mayo though and that goes a long way with me. 9/10 recommend. Yann Couvreur - French dessert place on the 1st floor near the door. We took some desserts home to enjoy since we were so full. No idea what they were called and totally forgot to take photos but they were amazing. The Nutella cookie one was le boyfriends favorite. He's a Nutella fan though. I got the mascarpone dessert with strawberries on top - so light and delicious. I probably could have eaten three! We shared the caramel chocolate crumble cake dessert. Flavor was great but it was a bit dry. Overall - this food hall is a wonderful spot to come try. The only negative note I have is about the amount of dogs inside. I understand it's Miami which is super dog friendly (and I love dogs) but seeing SO MANY dogs INSIDE the hall where food is being served/eaten was not pleasant. Dogs in strollers, on leashes, just being carried, etc. who were very obviously not service dogs. read more

Bottom line: Julia & Henry's is a downtown food hall type destination, large with plenty of different food/drink offerings in the three levels we visited. It was a bit crowded, felt a bit touristy, and the number of choices were a bit overwhelming but a cool place to go try out different types of foods even during a football game, etc. The Deets: While visiting Miami Beach recently, we went over into downtown Miami to hang out on a rainy day and headed to Julia & Henry's. This destination is like a downtown area food hall with many different types of food types/variations, bars, and baked delights to take in and enjoy. Parking was not too bad, there is a parking garage within walking distance we used. Walking in through the doors, it's a huge food hall with at least three levels (both steps and elevator access available). The sheer amount of food/drink offerings at different storefronts felt overwhelming to be honest, we actually did a lap or so before committing to a location (as Cher said in Clueless when making an appearance at the Val-Party). There is also a big main area on the ground level where there is a massive seating area and huge TV for football watching, etc. They even have dedicated NFL menus and lunch menus with selections given for most of the venues located inside this food hall for each time noted (see pics). We tried a few things there such as Hitchi Haika (gyoza/dumplings), Chicchetti (Italian apps/tapas), and Peachy's Fried Chicken. I liked most of them, each had their own spin and taste. It was a good place to go and experience, I enjoyed it, but not sure I would say it is a destination I would choose every time I hit Miami as it was a bit crowded on a Sunday afternoon and it had a pretty touristy type vibe also. read more

Finally made it to Julia & Henry's! It's a huge, modern, upscale food hall in Miami. When you walk in, the first impression is impressive and overwhelming. The layout and decor are so fun, complete with a tall atrium, a live DJ, and glass floors. Speaking of glass floors, I would not recommend wearing a dress or skirt. I'm so glad I saw pictures beforehand because I was planning on wearing a dress and it would've been a a bit of a problem. I've been to a ton of food halls in the area, and Julia & Henry's for sure has the most options. You can find something to satisfy just about any craving. You almost feel a sense of decision paralysis because there are so many places to look at and choose from My only issue was navigating it. Obviously you want to walk around to see the restaurants before deciding. However, the walkways are so narrow that it's hard to squeeze by to walk around. I tried to look at the menus online before going, but their website has very little information. I think it would help the flow inside and the sense of feeling overwhelmed if we could plan ahead on line. They do have QR codes on the tables where you can see the restaurant menus all on one site, but toggling between the restaurants was kind of annoying, and there were places missing. Just a warning too, it is pretty pricey. Don't be fooled by the fact that this is a casual place. You'll easily spend at least $40 a person for an entree and a drink. read more

I like this place, it's a little overwhelming with all the lights, colors, tight spaces and so many options but it's cute. This is my second time there and this time i tried Battubelin the Italian place on the second floor, it was actually so yummy. I had the penne pasta with Parmesan and prosciutto and white cream sauce and it was amazing. My friend had a pizza from the same place though and it was just okay. Afterward i was going to buy a single glazed donut from the bakery at the front door and that wanted $8 which i just felt was way too much so i passed. It's nice that they have a water station as well. And the seating in the corners has less traffic and is a nice place to enjoy your food. read more

Not all food halls are the same. Julian and Henry is located in the heart of downtown Miami serving upscale food from American, Brazilian, Cuban, Italian, Jewish, Middle Eastern, Mexican to Japanese Ramen. Opened in 1936 as a Walgreens store, this building was restored to a modern grandeur. Now it's a foodie galore! This food hall has about 3 floors so make sure to explore every nook and cranny. Each vendor is quite unique so there's something for everyone. My favorite sweet-tooth vendor Baklava Bakery is on the 3rd floor. If you're a fries fanatic, there's a vendor that specializes in just fries. They also have a wine bar on the 1st floor and a craft cocktail bar on the 3rd. Plenty of seating everywhere from communal tables in the middle piazza or table tops spread out on the other floors. The only thing you'll need to worry about is parking as they don't have a free garage. You'll need to take the Metro Mover or if you drove, park at the College Station which is 2 blocks away. On Thursday, they have a DJ and live band on Fridays. Great place to hang out and chow down some good food. Here's what I have tried so far. I have been excited to check out Julia & Henry's for some time now and I finally made it down. Arrived around 7PM on Saturday night and it was pretty bustling with loud music coming from a mediocre DJ who was also dancing and painting simultaneously. I found that impressive, but her choice of music was awful. To the food - we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and waffle fries from June and a spicy chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes from Michy's. The cheeseburger was delicious and the fries were just average. The chicken sandwich was crispy, but lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were our favorite by far! Very flavorful and creamy. We ordered from Tacotomia and everything was so fresh and delicious! Two tacos per order but with a side of chips & guac, you'll be satisfied. They have other options like chilaquiles, quesadillas, and more. We had drinks from the second floor bar. I tried the spicy margarita and the bartender was so kind, I regret not asking for his name. He asked if I had enough tajin on the rim and if I liked the spice level. I noticed he did that with other guests too. They have signature drinks or you can opt for any traditional drinks. For dessert they have a variety of options, but I went for my favorite.. OMG Brigadeiros. I'm obsessed! I had the dulce de le he milkshake and it was amazing. This food hall is a foodie's heaven. Imagine three floors filled with delicious treats, drinks, and bites. You have fried chicken, bubble waffles, tacos, and so much more. I came here for the first time to try Shimuja Ramen. It was love at first slurp. Huge fan! I came during Halloween weekend and they had Wonkaland happening. There were many cute photo opportunities and the vibe was there. The only reason I do not give this food hall five stars is for two reasons: 1) Parking is a pain. I parked in the parking garage nearest the food hall and was charge $15 for one hour. 2) I feel like the place has too many restaurants and too many people at once. If anyone wants to know what is the coolest thing to do in Miami, I am going to say it's Julia & Henry's. This new food hall is blowing everyone away! I arrived around 5PM on a Sunday and it was packed. It wasn't a direct lunch or dinner time but it was busy. Says a lot. Parking was street parking but I found a parking lot nearby on 2nd Street charging $10 flat for the entire day. Having been to a few food halls already, I wasn't sure what to expect. The takeaway of Julia & Henry's? Quality food. Each food vendor leaves you impressed for more. Originally this building was a Walgreens! How cool. It has now transformed into a 3 story food hall fill with everything you could imagine. This accommodates all ages, backgrounds and picky eaters. They have Italian, Greek, Japanese, Peruvian, and Jewish cuisine just to name a few. I liked a few things about Julia & Henry's. We were able to walk around each floor checking out the food stalls and clear cut menus were displayed as well as visual samples of the day. I also liked that each table had a QR code so that you could order directly at your table and receive a text alert when your food is ready. Last, I liked that they had an elevator. They are dog friendly and that can be a pro and a con. It's great but I had a few dogs walk a bit too close to my food spread at my table. Besides food, there are plenty of dessert options and two bars that I'm aware of. The food price is a bit high. For example, I ordered 6 shrimp dumplings for $14. However, like I stated the food is phenomenal. The shrimp dumplings had a nice twist on it! It came with a unique sauce not soy sauce based so I thought that was a first. I was able to try a beef tartare, pork belly bao buns, a hummus flight, vegetable lumpia, macarons, and hand rolls of sushi here. When I walked by their burger stall, I thought to myself that these are the best looking burgers I've seen in a while. Too bad I didn't have the stomach space! Will have to come back soon. read more

This elevated food court in downtown Miami has it all. It's great for groups that are all craving something different. From my experience, it felt hit or miss. Some of the food was amazing and some not so much. There are three different levels of food each with seating available. There seems to be only indoor seating. Upon entering you walk through some yummy looking dessert places. Similar cuisines are sort of grouped together. On my visit, I got a very delicious salmon avocado hand roll from the third floor. I'd recommend ordering a hand roll. I also got a chickpea beef kabob street food bowl that was not for me. There were too many different clashing flavors. It felt over-spiced and the BBQ sauce on top wasn't for me. My friend did order some very yummy Mediterranean food. The fresh pita bread was amazing. Another friend got a philly cheesecake crepe he devoured. And another one loved her salad. It's a cool space with a lot of different options. Whatever you are in the mood for, go ahead and visit one of the stations to order. I enjoy the Italian small bites on the 1st floor and the Italian stand on the second floor with pizza and pasta. Lastly, for dessert, the ice cream stand with fresh waffle cones is great. There's a bar in the middle to order drinks from. Great for happy hour. This hot & new food hall/marketplace concept is located in the heart of Downtown Miami. You'll be transported to a different city once you enter. Although parking is pretty difficult (as it is in any downtown city) and the building is unassuming, the interior of this food hall is quite magical. Pro tip: check out their Instagram for parking instructions. I will warn you, if you park in a garage, this may be super pricey as I ended up paying around $40. With three stories and endless choices, you could easily spend a bit of time here exploring and choosing what to eat. Truly something to please everyone, you can find food from sushi to chicken sandwiches. I love that there is a bit of rhyme and reason to the placement of each vendor. For example, upstairs, there's a whole row of Asian cuisine and on the first floor, you can find a lot of the easy pick ups like baked goods, coffee, matcha, and dessert. This visit, we did family style sharing and got a bit of everything. We tried a chicken sandwich & fries from Michy's Chicken Shack (my top fav), a couple of handrolls from Yabai, and a chickpea salad with chicken from Achar. Everything was pretty good but like I said, the chicken sandwich stole the show. After grabbing this hefty lunch and working a bit, I needed a pick me up. Knowing me, I had to search for matcha. The only spots that had it was Puffles as a boba drink & L'artisane bakery. The matcha here was pretty good and satisfied my craving. I love the center bar and look of this spot. My only gripe was the A/C wasn't working this day and it turned out to be pretty hot, especially working by the windows. But overall, a great experience in a ideal location for all those who work downtown. read more

Miami's newest eatery we didn't know we needed. This 3 floor food heaven is filled with literally every cuisine you can think of. Came to Julia & Henry's recently on a Sunday afternoon. It was SO SO busy. I know it's the new food hall in town so I was excited to check it out. The decor is super cool. 3 full story's of food, drinks, and sweets. Lots of great local restaurants here and some new ones! Parking can be a bit of a hassle as they're remodeling a lot of downtown so plan accordingly! The food hall is in a really cool building. There are 3 floors which you navigate via stairs. I couldn't tell you if there was an elevator or not as I didn't see one right away. As I came on a weekend it can definitely be a challenge to find some seating since it was so busy, even with all the space at the food hall. I could barely get by to walk around. Luckily friends found seating, but it took them nearly 40 minutes. It can get also overwhelming as well since there are SO many options. Their website is great and up to date though, in case you need to browse beforehand to have an idea what you want to try. Since it was busy I decided to go with a familiar choice and that was La Latina. I was so glad to see they had a spot here! I ordered on the website and picked up/sat at their little area to eat it. It was a good refuge from the chaos everywhere. So definitely a good option if you're looking for some Venezuelan goodies. I ordered the egg, tomato, onion arepa and added avocado. It was so good along with their essential sauces - the garlic and cilantro. The staff at La Latina were friendly and helpful. There's water you can serve yourself which is great. I saw this on the 1st floor not sure if on every floor. They have very pointy steak knives on every floor that everyone can grab. My friend mentioned how this could be hazardous and I honestly couldn't stop thinking about it afterward. Especially in such a busy spot so definitely some food for thought for having such easy access to sharp knives for everyone. Before leaving we wanted to try something sweet so we got a slice of lemon cake from Yann Couvreur. It was pretty dry so didn't quite enjoy it too much but the staff there was so kind and friendly. Definitely want to come back again soon! Likely on a weekday as it might be a bit calmer and I can venture out more and explore! So happy to have this in Midtown! Such amazing concept, great food and great vibe. They have live music, which makes it even better. If you come at night, be mindful that there will be a line but it goes fast and it's very much worth it. There are 26 places to try from, lines to get food are not too long. Now getting a place to sit is a bit hard, as soon as you or someone in your group finds a sit, stay there. Everything we tried was really good. Definitely a must! read more

A beautiful 3-story food hall in the heart of Brickell. It's super cool from the moment you enter, and there are too many places to choose from. 11 eateries on just the ground floor! You could find almost any type of food here and I will say that it was just a little overwhelming. There is no directory or pamphlet that could help for the locations of each one. You do have to walk around and figure it out, and order when you see it. There are a couple bars, the main one being the first floor. When ordering drinks from either the waitstaff or the bartenders just make sure you're aware that there is gratuity included. Also depends on the day and time you go, but if it's busy, I suggest getting a table first and then walking around to look for the food choices that appeal to you. read more

I need to have the new-ness wear off a bit before I can come back here and write a proper review. I came on a Wednesday night and this place was packed! The outside isn't much to look at, but the inside is gorgeous. Many different food vendors and drink options spread throughout 3 floors. 3rd floor behind the bar is the best place to go if you need a restroom, as that's the only spot with multiple bathroom stalls. The walkways are narrow, which made navigating this crowded place not so fun. Plus, since the walkways are so narrow, there is little space between you and the food vendors, so all their cooking heat is just right there on top of you. The building's A/C was not strong enough to fight the combined forces of cooking heat + Miami heat. I'm glad there's something new downtown, and I'll be back in a month or 2 to explore and will update my review when I do. read more

I have been hearing a lot about the newest food hall located in downtown Miami named Julia and Henry's. It's named after two major Miami pioneers, Julia Tuttle and Henry Flagler. Ironically located on 200 E Flagler in a true art deco building from the 20's. We decided to check in out on a Saturday for lunch. We parked easily on SE 1st street (just south of Flagler) in a metered spot just a block up from the hall. I expected a line as I had heard to expect one....we walked right in. My 1st impression was this is not a "Food Court" type situation. Think the middle of a art deco cruise ship. There are around 25 restaurants to choose from. Everything from dessert to steak. There is something for everyone. I even saw a chicken shack place for the "kids". There is seating throughout. You place your orders at the counter and they text you when they are ready. When you finish eating the wait staff clears your table. We noticed how clean the tables were and how quick the staff was. We had cocktails from the main bar downstairs. We tried the 4th of July hot dog from Frank's Hot Dog Joint. It was pretty good quality dog. RoZu had us at "hello" with their tuna tower poke and veggie dumplings. The food was fresh and tasty. We finished up with a Key Lime pie to go from Fookem's Fabulous Pies that we ordered from a vending machine. Boy was that a tasty pie! From what I understand there is a cool "speakeasy" type place in the basement open in the evening. I think I will check it out next time for sure. read more

This spot has a variety of restaurants/vendors throughout every floor level. I found this spot on YouTube as we prepared for our trip to Miami. I highly recommend it. It was a great experience with plenty of foods to select from. We had just ate brunch a few hours before we stopped by so we just ordered a few appetizers and a drink. This food hall has plenty of choices. It was not busy the weekend I was there for the Taylor Swift concert. I tried pizza from battubelin and a chicken salad from peachy's chicken shack. Both were good. The spiral staircase going up to each level (there are 3 levels) was very nice. There was plenty of seating. I would return here on my next visit to Miami. read more

A lot of choices in this cool 3-story food hall and food quality and freshness seems to be on point here. On this first visit I tried food from two places - Mensch and Michy's chicken. At Mensch, the hummus was good, but the flat bread that came with it was the star of the show. I like any place where Aqua Panna is offered as a water choice. At Michy's, I had the regular fried chicken sandwich. It was certainly good - it didn't blow my mind like I was expecting because it was a bit under-seasoned and a bit dry. Cool food hall atmosphere, it can get a bit loud here so not good for a first date. And a bit of a pain to go up and down to all the levels to try different foods and then again find seating. Service was generally good throughout the hall. Will have to come back to sample the desserts. read more
