This is the best meal that i've had in my entire life. Congrats to Chef Tony and the team on this amazing establishment. the ambiance in here is amazing and the service that I received from Emmanuel, Jose, Ximena is second to none and you made me have a perfect experience in Miami. I wish we had this place in New York. I will definitely be back.

Try the risotto and the octopus.

Best place in town. The food is amazing, I tried the best risotto and the croquetas, outstanding. The service is spectacular.

I took my out-of-town friend here as the rating is pretty good, and it was such a disappointment, I felt embarrassed that she may think this is the best Miami can offer. We had the baby lamb riblets, and I'd say that this is the toughest lamb chop I had ever had in my life. Once we started cutting into it we knew it was overcooked, and after sawing through the meat we could see it was all well done and grey. The little pig feast was no better. It must be a five year old piglet to yield meat this dry and tough. The seafood casserole is a nice portion, the flavor was good, but again the chef overcooked the ingredients. Overpriced for very mediocre food.

Super chill ambiance. I had a great experience after attending the yearly Calle 8 event. Lots of people inside the restaurant eating. I had 1 last beer for the night with some friends. The walls are whimsical and loud Latin music is playing in the background. *Note: service charge is already included.

Stopped here by accident. Was actually looking for La Taverna. It must have been an ownership change or a rebrand. We stopped here for lunch. Food is delicious, but a bit pricey. There's a nice mix of Cuban food with infusions of other island food influence. We got the empanada and curry chicken for the kids. Somehow, the food made them take a break from playing dominoes at the table. That should say something. Based on the heavy music equipment in the background and the giant TV, I'm assuming this place is turnt up later in the day! It gives off vibes of banging night spot. Whether that's true or not, that's not for me to ever find out lol. I'll just enjoy the decorations and the cultural influence of the tables and artistic design that make it a cool spot to swing by for lunch and take in the sights of Calle Ocho.... The lunch crowd is very clearly tourist industry.I suggest swinging by this place without your Patagonia sling and your travel pants. Try to look like you actually live somewhere nearby lol. Just kidding we know you are tourists. We know you're stopping by to try Cuban food. Just own it and make sure to remember put on some block when you're traveling and seeing sites lol. Looking at you old guy with the fishing shirt (literally). Somehow I'm first Yelper to review this place?!? How is that even possible??

Spectacular experience. The service was warm and inviting, the food was exceptional, and the entertainment and ambiance was superb. The restaurant is small and cozy with a small area dedicated to live entertainment that night. They seated our party of 3 immediately and were very friendly. The menu had some unique and flavorful options as well as classic dishes. We ended up getting the octopus and oxtail appetizers, lamb ribblets, and empanadas. The octopus was seared beautifully in a delicious sauce. The oxtail was soft and shredded with a hearty flavor in mini tostada-like croquettes. The lamb was rich and meaty and the empanadas were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The two-person band was fantastic, they played all the salsa and bachata greatest hits. Everyone in the restaurant was lively and having a great time. It was a wonderful night!

This is supposed to be gourmet oxtails I don't know what the hell this is

Food was not very good to me. The Cuban sandwich is just mediocre and they said they serve oxtails is horrible.

Fresh mint lemonade is so good. Food portions great for price. Good service. Clean atmosphere.

But, I loved that we were greeted by the owner, such a great touch. Now to the food and wine. First of all, the wine selection is outstanding, I was speechless. Instead, we were sat at the smallest bar seating, which was completely inappropriate and not romantic at all for an occasion like Valentine's Day. As soon as we sat down, I politely asked if we could be moved. The manager then told me that I had booked bar seating, which is simply not true. Why would anyone reserve bar seating a month in advance for Valentine's Day? I checked my reservation confirmation myself and it never stated that, and I even tried making another reservation to verify ..bar seating wasn't even an option. He told us he would "see what he could do," and we were left waiting at the bar with no water, no menus, no service, and no communication whatsoever. Meanwhile, we watched multiple couples get seated at proper tables back-to-back. At one point, we even overheard another couple say their reservation was at the same time as ours, and they were seated at a table immediately. When I tried to politely ask for an update, the manager or owner completely ignored me. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. I was honestly in shock at how disrespectful and dismissive they were. We ended up getting up and leaving because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt. Valentine's Day is supposed to be special, and this restaurant completely ruined that experience.

There is a parking lot right on the side of the building, but if that lot is full, there is also street parking, and parking across the street in a lot behind the Citadel. The service here was great! All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The set up of the lounge is also very cozy. There is plenty of space for people to sit whether you're on a date or with a small group, but seating is first come first serve, so if you're coming with a group it's better to get there earlier in the evening so you have a space comfortable enough for the size of your group. There is also indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. There are many wines to choose from and they also have a decent menu with light bites. We opted for the Dino nuggets and caviar which were a hit, the fried olives and some meats and cheeses with some cornishons, fig jam and a sliced baguette. Overall this place has a great vibe to it and I heard they host events every so often. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice space to chill with some friends and enjoy a nice spot in Miami.

I've been visiting a lot recently, and even joined their wine club which offers two curated wines a month. Locally owned and operated, I feel really good supporting a place that the owners put so much effort into to offer such a gem of a spot for locals. I've tried a lot of wines here, and I'm always amazed at finding something new to me that I enjoy. If you haven't been, it's the perfect place for a date, a girls night, or a day for yourself. They also have good snacks and charcuterie for you to munch on while you drink vino. Don't know much about wine? No problem. Their team will point you in the right direction and they have something for everyone. This is an approachable wine bar- they want you to enjoy the wine as much as they do and I love that about Magie. This spot has a nice indoor space and a beautiful outdoor area. They also have a sister location in the Grove.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.
