I loved the drinks and food, so much. The skewers, miso salmon roll, DELISH. The decor, outdoor seating, all of it was lovely. Where they lost me is that my service was not great. We waited awhile for our check, waited awhile for it to be picked up. Not checked on much and then were charged 20% tip..... when..... I'd see if that worked if we were guaranteed perfect service. We came here for dinner on Valentine's Day. It was our first time. The restaurant is beautiful, but the ambiance was a little off? They were blasting Taylor Swift, Public Enemy, and other songs that just really clashed with the vibe. It's surprising how much music choice can impact the experience. We started with the fry flight and WOW. I know fries don't sound exciting, but these were some of the best fries I've ever had. I ordered the pasta and he ordered lobster dumplings. The pasta was terribly overcooked even though the sauce was was nice. They forgot the dumplings, so we sat waiting for them for a while before I started eating my pasta. The service fell a little flat, with the waiter disappearing for long stretches. We didn't even want to see a dessert menu. read more

Stopped by the new Eight Bar which is the new lounge/bar affiliated with Maple and Ash. The ambiance was chill with lounge music playing but not too loud. There are tables as well as bar seating. Service was pretty good, pleasant and always someone around to help out. We ordered a burger, chicken nuggets, fries and a few "marg-a-tinis" which were great. The fries were excellent but the burger was not the greatest. It's smash burger style with two thin patties but either the meat was sitting a while or it was overcooked. Next time, prob would not order that again and give the skewers a try instead. The nuggets were solid for a small bite. They are served in 4s with a dipping sauce that has a bit of a kick. They were solid. Happy hour is every day they are open, Thursday to Sunday, from 4-6. read more

Definitely wanted to like Eight Bar since Maple & Ash (parent owner) is one of my my favorite restaurants in Miami. But the issue is the quality is not consistent throughout the menu. The burger is pretty good and is worth the cost. But the lobster dumplings see not even close. They're small, barely have any lobster, yet cost $28. The beignets are average at best and are $18. The drinks are great, all in all it's hard to recommend. read more

Lovely ambiance and service at Eight Bar. Music was playing at the perfect volume where you could still have great conversations. Drinks were good too. I had the lemon drop with tequila instead of vodka and it was great, not too sweet and a sugar rim. The burgers and fries are delicious but that's about it. I was not a fan of the lobster dumplings, not good and not worth the price. Waited a while for them and they were barely warm. The beignets for dessert were also just ok. read more

On the first floor of maple and ash. Garage parking nearby. Not a huge place but a decent size with a bar area and tables. It was nice inside and staff was friendly. We ordered chicken nuggets, Salmon Handroll, Waygu sushi roll, burger with fries, short rib steak, beignets, pina colada dessert and creme Brulee. Everything we ate was good. No complaints from anyone in our group. Happy hour menu items are small portions. Keep that in mind. Lots of sharing like we did. Place is open Thursday to Sunday I believe. Loved the vibe at Eight Bar. Service was good and timely. I loved my spicy tequila drink, which was called Good Trouble. The herbs and greens salad was also delicious and I loved the combination of ingredients. French fries were top notch and you can choose from a few dipping sauces or get them all. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because we all ordered different sushi and all the sushi had a "fishy" taste if that makes sense because I know it's fish after all, but like a not so fresh taste. It wasn't horrible. I ate most of mine, but it wasn't the quality I was expecting. That being said I really did like the place and will be back to order different things. read more

We found this place on yelp of course. While the reviews seemed promising, I have to be honest it was just ok. We sat for 10 minutes before our waiter finally came by. He definitely didn't seem like he wanted to work. Our drinks took forever to get to us. I ordered from the happy hour menu the crab king roll and nuggets. My husband ordered the burger and fries. I know Miami is pricy but to charge $8 for 1 roll is crazy. I got 4 nuggets so I basically paid $2 a nugget lol. Lesson learned. The nuggets were good the roll def lacked. My husband did enjoy the burger and the fries were actually really good. What's upsetting is that we were obligated to tip 20% when service didn't deserve that. My husband and I always tip more than 20%. To tip a server who took over 10 mins to get to us, another 10 for drinks and ZERO personality seems like a ripoff. It's no wonder he didn't care to attend to us properly cause regardless he's still getting tipped. I worked as a server and bartender for many years and worked for my tips. Personally I'd never go again. I definitely think Miami overall is overrated and service has gone down tremendously. read more

We came to Eight Bar Miami for their preview night and were absolutely delighted! The vibe is immaculate! A blend of chic, lively, and effortlessly cool. We had the burgers and fries, and they were to die for... crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Old Fashioned and loved their twist on it. His description... smoked, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced. && let me tell you, boy is he picky with his old fashions, but this was Adam approved. The stamped ice detail was such a nice touch too. Adds that extra piece of elegance. The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming, and you can tell they're passionate about creating a great experience. Can't wait to come back once they officially open, this place is definitely going to be a Miami favorite! read more

Fabulous ambiance. Couldn't believe there was no wait on a Friday night at prime time. It is off the beaten path. Very cool art deco vibes. Started with some oysters, they were some of the best I have ever had, and I am a shellfish snob! The mignonette served with them was exceptional. The eight bar burger was tasty, smashed patties are having a comeback right now and this kitchen did them in an elevated way. Loved the housemade condiments, and the cocktail list was interesting. Lots of cool Asian fusion cocktails. Wish I knew about this place when I visited Chicago, as that is where it started. read more

Found out that Maple and Ash was going to open a hip new bar on the ground floor called eight bar and I was able to get a ticket for their second opening pop-up night. Upon arriving we were greeted so warmly. For this particular pop-up, they offered eight dollar cocktails, I didn't try any, but they look delicious and people seem to be really enjoying them. And there were several passed bites: burgers and fries and four different types of sushi (salmon roll, crispy, rice, tempura, and king crab just to name a few) which will feature in their menu, everything was delicious. We had an extra treat where Chef Austin came out and started a raffle and I ended up winning a $50 gift certificate for the bar, to use, when they open on October 24. He was so kind to also let us tour his kitchen, new state of the art culinary installations and get some more sample bites. The staff was beyond friendly and so quick kept passing out bites. What a night. Can't wait to come once they open. read more

This is a nice quiet spot underneath Maple and Ash. A good bar for after work with a few tables if you want to sit down and eat. Also a higher end alternative to earls if you want to sit at the bar watch a game and have a drink. The drinks are good and the burger was great. 8 Bar, located on the bottom level of Maple & Ash, delivered a very good experience. The oysters were excellent and incredibly fresh. The king crab roll was delicious, packed with flavor, and definitely a standout. We also had a prawn skewer and a beef skewer, both really good and cooked just right. The good...my burger was cooked right and tasted delicious, the bad.,,I ordered a beer that was delivered 3/4 full, the ugly... I am a good tipper usually around 30% and today would have been no exception, but the restaurant decided for me that they would just start me out at 20% and try and hide that after processing my card. I absolutely hate that. So, 20% it was. I will not return based simply on this BS tactic to assume for me what I should tip. It was a bit expensive for what I ordered as well, but I am somewhat used to that living in this area. Note to management...let your customers decide what the tip should be. We are the ones who actually ate the food and experienced the service, maybe you will fill the place up a bit more...As far as the ambiance, very nice with a relaxed vibe. read more

Most recommended items are the king crab roll, mushrooms, heirloom tomato salad, tuna & Wagyu tartar, steak frites, french fries, and bubbling shrimp. WOW. 10/10. I have been a consistent customer at Maple & Ash Miami and have always had an amazing experience. Joe, the General Manager, and his team have always been the kindest people so I had high expectations when I saw that they were opening up a companion restaurant right downstairs. But little did I know that I was not only going to get one of the most delicious short ribs that I have ever had, but I was also going to meet the most delightful staff members. They take such pride in understanding the purpose and background of the food provided, while also taking such great care in making sure that their customers are comfortable and well serviced. The short rib is to die for, the lobster ravioli is perfectly balanced, and the overall concept of the menu is really inviting. I can't wait until they open up for additional services such as lunch and brunch because I intend to be a regular customer! read more
