I've gotten it done here before and I had no complications. However, when I returned to get a magic straight once again, the salon completely destroyed and damaged my hair. Long story short, I cannot style my hair for about a year and the salon returned my money back for destroying my hair. I do not plan on returning. Took my 15 year old son here to get his hair cut. Stylist stopped the hair cut half way through claiming he had lice. Obviously paid for the hair cut even though it wasn't finished and gave them a heavy tip since I felt bad about it. Got him home and there was nothing visible but some dandruff. Kept him home from school the next day and he had to miss an important school tennis match. Took him to a doctor to get checked just to make sure. Zero sign of lice. I think the lady was just too lazy to finish cutting his hair and my other son's that was waiting next. It was late in the day and she wanted to go home. So my mom likes this studio for some reason because she's been coming here for years. And I've had a decent amount of cuts in the past that were bad but weren't as bad as this experience I had. I came here with my mom a few days ago to get a hair cut because I wanted to get a trim. My mom didn't set up an appointment for two because she figured that they'd cut my hair either way. Which was true because I was handed over to Teresa. I have to admit I don't have the most healthiest hair or the most smoothest but Teresa kept tugging and pulling on my hair as she tried to brush the knots off. She was not gentle whatsoever. I'm no hair expert by any means but let me tell you the lady gives no fucks. At first she showed me the length I wanted and I was completely fine with it. But since I wear glasses I had to take them off so it wouldn't get in the way of her working on my head. Boy did I regret that. LISTEN Y'ALL. This lady botched my hair. Previously, I had long hair with slight layers but since I dyed it so much this passed year, I thought to myself, hm.. maybe I should just cut off 2 inches. BOY- NOT ONLY DID SHE CUT OFF 2 INCHES, SHE DECIDED IT WAS COOL TO CUT OFF ANOTHER 2 DANG INCHES. It was so bad that I cried after leaving the studio; I was furious. I literally look like those Japanese squid/octopus characters that you would see in anime. Worst part is- I don't even have multiple layers, I only have 2 layers of hair. And when Teresa styled my hair she was going to wave it in, like the classic ajumma look, however I couldn't see and I told her that she could curl it if she wanted to. BOY SHE MADE ME LOOK LIKE ONE OF THE GOLDEN GIRLS. It was horrendous, I looked like my Gma. Even after I had addressed that I didn't like it and it was too short- SHE WAS SO RUDE TO ME. She kept saying that my hair was exactly like the picture but it looks different because it's curled. ANYONE WITH EYES CAN SEE THAT ITS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE. Finally called back that day to tell them that I was really upset and really unsatisfied with the whole ordeal, and all Julian offered was to fix my hair but there's literally no more hair to cut. At this point all I wanted was a refund. Julian is really professional and a nice person; definitely knows how to handle all her clients. It's just unfortunate that Teresa works for her. For you guys and gals that want a cheap hair cut, please expect that you WILL get a cheap hair cut. Don't come here because of the prices, you get what you pay for. If you want quality, SAVE YOUR DANG COINS and go to a better salon/studio. Or do your research and find a freelance stylist. My daughter had her hair colored in July, ashy gray and hint of lavender tones balayage. It was freaking gorgeous and Ms Shin worked on it for almost 6 hours without taking any other clients. Not only was it beautiful but she made sure my teens hair wasn't damaged. She used layers of conditioning to make sure there wasn't damage. The result was amazingly silky, subtle tones of lavender and ashy gray with her blond mind undertones... Now we're back for her winter color transformation and so excited and can't wait to see the results! The pics are from the summer hair color and I will post pics of new color after the appointment! Updating my review since they have figured out how to use the scheduler much more effectively. When booking an appointment over the phone I get verbal confirmation of my name, date and time of appointment. The quality of the cut is still good, price for a male haircut is $15, and I plan to continue coming here for my periodic trim. Since this is a hair studio (run by Koreans) the cut also includes a hair wash in between the cut and the touch-up + stylizing. read more

I came to this salon for the first time today, and the first thing I noticed was the plaza it's in. It's an older plaza, but that just means more parking! I was kindly greeted by the salon owner, and taken to have my hair washed shortly after. My haircut, however, felt so bizarre! To make it go by faster, she had someone else assist her in blowdrying my hair (two blowdryers) and straightening it (two flatirons). Once that was done, she dry-cut my hair and clearly cut a few inches more than I'd asked. I don't mind the results of my hair, but I do wish that it wasn't cut as short as it is. With my initial hair length being at my lower back, I was charged $20. Cash only! Overall, despite the cut being a little too short for my liking, I do see myself coming back here. read more

Ok so I do NOT usually go to Korean hair salons because everytime I do they always cut WAY too much! but my mom goes here and since i'm broke and needed my mother to pay for my haircut, I had no choice but to come here. But to my surprise i LOVE my haircut! The owner of this salon is super nice and actually listened to what I wanted. When i told her to THIN out and trim my hair, she did just that. Just got out of the salon. Don't EVER go to this place for a haircut. My appointment was at 4 with Sunny. I went in and waited 30 minutes to be seated. Once I was seated, she examined my hair and kept saying "wow you have a lot of hair". Maybe thats why she didnt even wash my hair. She washed each and every clients hair before mine. Then she proceeds to cut my hair, and her trimmers some how broke. So she starts chopping my hair off with some other scissors as if a child was cutting my hair. Oh, and she didnt even wet my hair. Then she starts complaining to me how hungry she is and how shes about to faint. Well, then maybe you shouldnt take clients in! So my haircut took 10 minutes, just rough chops all around. She asks me if I wanted styling, which I said no to. But she grabs her iron and curls two pieces of hair around my face and told me she was done. Yea, this place is super cheap. But I highly recommend you spend that $40-60 to get a nicely done haircut. read more

I would have given 1 star based on this experience alone; however, I feel that would be slightly unfair for the rest of the stylists at this location so... I think the guy knew he messed up on my hair. I don't know his name but he is an older guy with wavy/curly/wet looking hair and smelled like cigarettes. Came for a trim and walked out with more than I had asked. Trim does not mean restructuring my hair and having it bear no semblance to the relative proportions that were present before. Really bothers me when stylists tend to default to mushroom head style no matter what is said. If I wanted to look like a mushroom, I have no problem doing so myself for free without having to pay someone to do it for me. Thanks. The people who tend to do this are those who use the water bottle spray liberally and without thought or reason as to why they are using it in the first place. Please pay attention to the person's hair structure/hair type and style before drenching the hair in water and cutting it. OBVIOUSLY IT WILL NOT COME OUT THE SAME WHEN IT DRIES. The length will shorten and the appearance of straightness of the hair will not be the same as when wet and when dry. Please also make note of the general outline of the hair before cutting when someone asks for a trim. I did not ask for you to lop off the back of my hair in a straight line when it was tapered and pieced. And I specified not to undercut my hair because the hair on the bottom layer grows extremely slow. Yet the first thing cut was the lower layer. Hmm... If you are the stylist who cut my hair and happen to be reading this - don't be offended or be defensive. Either you take criticism and improve, or you grow stale and obsolete. If you don't know what trim means, ask instead of assuming trim = chop off. I don't know if I will be coming back. Maybe it could have been better if I had gone with Julian but Mondays are apparently her day off. Do not come on Monday and do not let the guy cut your hair if you want a better probability of getting a haircut that will not cause you to become more and more irritated the more you look in the mirror. read more

It's getting hot now so I wanted a shorter hairstyle that suited the weather and 2016. I've never been here before and just moved to La Mirada so decided to try it out reading the yelp reviews. I'm glad I gave it a try! She immediately knew what would be best for my hair (I have A LOT and really thick hair) when I asked for a trim. She layered a bit on the bottom to give it a lighter feel and cut it to the length I asked. My hair looks super chic and very modern, I love it! She shampooed, cut, blowdryed, and ironed my hair and the best part is her price! She is definitely affordable and I'd recommend her to locals. I had an appointment with Julian and told her I wanted her to bleach my hair. It seemed like she was judging me and she asked me why and I said so I could dye it myself. She didnt even bleach my hair, just lightened it and it wasn't even blonde in the end. She also charged me $50 more for toner, which she didnt explain to me what it was. Why I always go to Julian? It's because her charge is very reasonable. She also listens to what you want. I just had my haircut with Luis, and boy I was sooooo impressed! He got what I exactly want by listening to what I said. Yup my mom referred me here too! Ive been going to the same stylist for years in garden grove and need a place closer to home. The strip mall the salon is located in is so sad. many stores are closed up at the moment. The bar next door is a bit incongruous, and this salon is hard to see, but once i was inside i was pleasantly surprised. They do not speak english at all but try very hard to understand your comments. I dont think it worked for me. I got Teresa, a stylist that cut my hair on the short side and then took a long time to even out one side of my head to the other. I walked away with a chunky style haircut that didn't enhance my unruly thick hair. Maybe try another stylist? $20 to get the asian wash, blow dry, cut and flat iron treatment, is an irresistable price, but not sure if it's worth the gamble. read more
