I wasn't going to leave this review but I'm tired of being taken advantage of, firstly I never asked for bangs, I asked for CURTAIN BANGS I just wanted a TRIM! (I literally showed her at least 5 reference photos to make sure we were on the same page), she only cut two "layers" and it was so choppy. I ended up having to cut off about 12in of my hair because of this lady's mistake. Whenever I asked her if I could get it fixed with my preferred stylist she agreed, which she scheduled me then literally the day of said she got booked up (even though I called a week in advance and she confirmed my appt herself) she then refused to schedule me unless she was the one to fix it which is absolutely ridiculous being that she's the one who ruined it and clearly had no idea what she was doing.This lovely lady also refused me a refund I hate this place read more

one of the best haircuts i've gotten i was helped my sarah who was very meticulous and very professional. i showed her a picture of how i wanted my hair and she cut it exactly how i wanted it. i was genuinely surprised because i hadn't had great experiences at other salons/barbershops and i'm always nervous trying out a new place. after getting the initial cut, she washed my hair and then went back to trim and touch up my hair. i was blown away by her attention to details. it is a bit pricey but i think it was totally worth it. highly recommend! read more

Just got a haircut here today and I love it so much!!! Always drove past this place but hadn't considered it.. until now and I'm sooo glad I did! My husband said it is one of his favorite haircuts. I've been a customer of Ella Hair for over 4 years and have consistently been happy with my cuts. Michelle and her staff are some of the nicest people you could meet and they all take great pride and care in their craft. Due to their popularity it helps to call in advance for appointments. They do their best to accommodate walk-ins as well but it's not a guarantee particularly within 2-3 hours of closing when they get super busy. Recently took my son here for his first cut with Ella Hair and we came out really happy. My boy was all smiles after getting his "cool" hair cut. But don't take my word for it. Needed to find a nearby hair salon to get a haircut, and after trying a few places around La Mirada/Buena Park area I randomly stumbled upon here through Yelp. I waked in without an appointment Friday, 10:40AM and there was only one customer at the time. I was helped by Sarah immediately upon arriving and received a very "professional-quality" haircut. I say quality because of the fact that she took her time to do the haircut and made sure it wasn't rushed. I have found my permanent place, they are very friendly and what I love about it, is that I feel at home not worried about trying to "fit in" as most salons these days tend to give off (high-end salons). I loved coming here ! I think my stylist's name was Michelle and her and another lady were super sweet. She always addressed me by my name and did my hair exactly how I wanted to. I do recommend brining in a picture if you want her to see what kind of style you would like. I told her to keep it long but more layers and thinned out and she did that ! Including volume ! :) On top of that, she curled my hair without extra charge to see how I would like it ! It's only $25 for a haircut for woman and that in my opinion, is a steal! On my ever-continuing quest of finding a new hair place, I stopped by Ella Hair to get a much needed haircut. The shop is super low-key. Definitely not one of the fancy, silk robe, turtlenecked hair stylists with uneven angular cuts in their hair, but the price was right. $15 for a men's haircut! What a steal! Michelle was my stylist today. A few words about Michelle. She is professional, straight-forward/no nonsense, while being nice and provide super helpful information. She already had an idea on what kind of cut I wanted from looking at how my hair was shaped. She also noticed that the pomade I was using was building up on my hair and damaging it. She suggested changing pomades and using just a little bit at a time. She also gave me pointers on how to style my hair. Overall very satisfied with my visit. I'll probably visit a few other places, but for $15 here, I might just stick with it! I walked in but did call ahead to make sure they had time, but from what I picked up from other customers coming in, I'd call in and make a reservation. One concern though: if you don't speak Korean, I fear you might not be able to fully express how you want your hair but that might just be my perception. read more

I have gone to Ella Hair twice now. Loved the hair cut the first time, went back and loved it again. I was almost going to give up on the hair cutting world because the hair cuts I got always seemed too short, or I always had parts of my hair that are weird when cut. Some hair sticks up, some over... I know I'm a mess. Anyways, the ladies at Ella hair seemed to sculpt my hair, instead of just cut it. Amazing! Made an appointment to get lash extensions and the sign clearly reads $80 for 100 lashes. The girl came in 15 mins late and looked at me with disgust when I walked in. She asked if I knew the pricing and I told her yes and quoted the sign. She the. Told me she didn't know I wasn't Asian until she got here and the price would be $130. I told her that was to expensive and she begins to look in her glue bottle and then tells me she doesn't have lashes for "big eyes" only small Asian eyes. Place: what's great is not only does this place have skilled hair salonists, there's a Boba place right next to it to grab and go a sweet smoothie. The atmosphere is comfortable, bright, and the aroma is not overbearing like some salons I've walked into whence you get punched in the face with the thick perfume. Experience: I've been to different salons and as of now it's been 2 years since I've been going to this one. My hair stylist is Jenny, she's loving, pampering, and will give you what you want. The lady cut my hair so much to the point where SHE think it is fine length , not to the point where I wanted. She cut the hair after washing my hair which will be shorter after it dries.. Been going here for almost a eyar now, I absolutely love the way they cut my hair! I have gone to other salons in the area and to be honest almost all of them didn't cut my hair and to top it off where extremely pricey especially considering the fact it's a men's cut. I highly recommend this hair salon! I went in to get a short A line hair cut, the shortest I've ever cut my hair, and I love it!!!!! I told my stylist that she can style the angle and length to her liking and she exceeded my expectations! It fit my style and face structure flawlessly.
